[3rd POV]
Looking at the gorgeous woman who was definitely not a teen like she remembered her in the old cartoons and comics, Wanda smiled. She was older, likely closer to her in age, and was more mature than her teenage cartoon counterpart.
"Hi there, anything in particular you're looking for? Fiction, Non Fiction?" Wanda asked, as Raven shook her head. She had been there for some more non fiction books, ones that other bookstores she had visited so far hadn't had.
"No, just browsing" Raven replied, before walking over to the non fiction section, in particular, the books on things like herbs, "potions" and things involving the mystical world. Not the actual magic books though, as she had to "Flip" onto the magic section for it to appear to anyone.
Watching her browse, Wanda hummed as she drank her tea, as she spread senses slightly. She could feel the incredible power beneath Raven's skin, power that was just waiting to be called upon, but dangerous power, very very dangerous power.
For Raven was not human, not at all. She was the daughter of the dimension conquering, omnicidal, demonic entity known as "Trigon". Trigon being one of the most powerful entities in the entire Multiverse, being able to contend and battle it out with the likes of the Spectre, Nabu, and others of similar levels of power.
And Raven was stronger than him. Not just by a little bit either, at her peak, she made the entity look like a worm beneath her feet.
Neither of them were even remotely close to her in terms of power level, but they were still strong either way. Raven did have the potential to become an equal to her, or at least reach her ball park, but that wasn't something she could do, not yet.
Thanks to being the daughter of Trigon, Raven had a lot of power, but she also was prone to...corruptive impulses, courtesy of being the daughter of a demonic evil entity like him. An entity that had likely killed countless billions of lives.
Not that Wanda hadn't technically done even worse, remembering the "No More Mutants" incident that had wiped out 99% of mutants in the entire Multiverse. She had likely killed far far far more than simple billions, so his kill count was nothing to her.
Watching as the woman browsed, Wanda frowned slightly upon noticing her heading towards the exit, seemingly not finding anything of note, probably searching for some more...magical materials. Materials that she didn't and couldn't just have lying around showing in a normal situation.
"Ah, before you leave, would you like to see my more...mystical books?" Wanda asked, as Raven paused at the door, before turning slowly in interest.
"Mystical?" Raven asked, eyes narrowing slightly as a thought came to her mind.
In response, Wanda simply smiled, before flicking her wrist, as a soft click sounded out, the books warping and changing, as they were swapped out with their mystical counterparts. A simple and easy spell had been put into place that could make the swap seamless and unnoticeable.
Raven, seeing the glow, looked surprised as the bookcases were changed, magic coating each and every one of the books, as her eyes practically sparkled as she looked over them all.
Before she realized that Wanda was definitely not a normal human being, her head turning to Wanda with narrowed eyes and a question threatening to escape her, only for Wanda to speak.
"Yes, I can use magic, ma'am. The books are ones that I have made sure are safe for normal magic lovers, and are completely and utterly real and legitimate. So go ahead and find some you'd like" Wanda said with a small smile, as the woman looked her over, more interested than before.
"What is your name?" Raven asked, as Wanda smiled.
"Wanda Maximoff, and yours?" Wanda asked in response, Raven looked her over for a few moments, before replying.
"Raven" Raven responded with a small smile forming on her face as she shook the hand of Wanda.
"Well it's nice to meet you Raven. You're welcome to browse the magical tomes I've got, they're separated by category and difficulty" Wanda said as the woman nodded and walked off to find a selection of books.
Watching as she began to flip through the books, Wanda giggled at the way her eyes sparkled, a cute look of interest forming on her face as she began to look through the selection. The selection itself was large, with over 500 books to choose from, a wide range of picks to choose from.
She had books on all forms of magic, magical creatures, magical herbs, potions, and many many many more. She also had books on the cosmic hierarchy, the various demonic creatures of the multiverse and how to defeat them, basically everything needed in order to deal with attacks and how to defend oneself.
A lot of them had been made by Wanda herself using the knowledge she had from the Marvel universe thanks to Strange, but some of it had also been made from the knowledge she had from DC, as well as ones she had conjured with her power, reality warping allowing her to simply bring to life books on magic from this universe, as broken as that tended to be.
Walking into the back, Wanda made herself another cup of tea, as well as one for Raven, before walking out to where Raven was standing in front of the desk when she came out, a stack of around 13 books at her side, two hundred dollars in cash.
"Is that all?" Wanda asked as Raven nodded.
"Is it alright if I stay here and read? My normal spots are...rather loud" Raven said, as Wanda raised an eyebrow in surprise, before smiling.
"Sure, Raven. The seats over there are for reading, and I've made you tea if you'd like it. I figured you'd be thirsty by now" Wanda offered her, as Raven smiled slightly, taking the tea and giving it a practice sip, only for her eyes to widen in surprise.
"This-this is delicious" Raven muttered, sipping on it again as a smile bloomed on her face.
"Thank you, Wanda" Raven said with a genuine glint in her eyes before walking over to one of the coffee tables and sitting on the comfortable sofa in front of it, leaning back as she began to read through the first book, sipping on the warm and delicious tea that Wanda had made specially for her.
Watching as Raven began to read, Wanda leaned back with a smile on her face, as she began to read through her own book, an ancient tome she had summoned from this world that was specialized in some of the...darker magics of this world.
She had already learned and read through around three dozen books, all of them being magical in nature, and wanted to have read over 500 books in the year, all of them being magical books.
While sitting and reading, she noticed that Raven didn't have very...expensive clothing, if anything, it was noticeably cheap, and more than that, it was worn in several places, causing Wanda to frown slightly.
She wondered how she got the cash for the books when her clothes were so worn, so she spread her power slightly, gazing into the past for a few moments before returning to the present, realization on her face.
'...She's homeless' Wanda thought with a deep frown, not recognizing this from any storyline she had read in her past life. This was something different, likely one of the changes in this universe.
In this universe, Raven hadn't joined any teams, hadn't received any help from others, and had been all on her own while on Earth. Due to this, she was effectively homeless, and constantly on the move. She had gotten the cash by stealing it from some rich looking folk, before coming to Wanda's shop. As it would seem she cared more about reading than the fact that she was homeless and with little in terms of money.
Seeing this all, Wanda gazed at Raven in silent thought, as a few ideas came to mind. Ideas on how to help the girl with her current predicament.
Getting to her feet, Wanda walked over to where Raven was sitting and looking down to what she was reading.
"Basics of Transmutation huh? Not a bad choice" Wanda said from over her shoulder, as Raven looked up at her.
"Sorry, I just noticed that you seem to be quite the book lover, and was wondering something" Wanda said, as Raven looked up at her in confusion, before her eyes widened dramatically as she heard what Wanda had said next, a question that, unknowing to her...would change her life forever. And the question was...
"How would you like to work here?"

That's the end of the chapter!
And yep, Raven is going to be working with Wanda! I thought it'd be the best way of them getting close, and I decided to change around Raven's background a bit due to the differences that naturally occurred in this universe.
Anyways, have a good day!
