Mizukage Building.
Chaos reigned.
After absorbing the Fourth Mizukage, the shadow clone of Yu helped Terumi Mei and Ao suppress the chaos among the Mist ninja in the building.
Ao was in charge of explaining the situation.
The Mist ninja were skeptical, but most of them ceased fighting.
Meanwhile, Terumi Mei and Yu headed straight to the top-floor office, knocking out the ANBU guards along the way and kicking down the door.
Inside, the windows were shattered.
The hall was a mess.
"Ugh…"
Master Gen lay on the cold floor, trembling as he crawled toward the shattered glass window. He paid no attention to the shards cutting into and embedding in his palms.
"Elder!!"
Terumi Mei cried out, instantly appearing at the old man's side to help him and tend to his wounds.
Master Gen looked dazed and trembled uncontrollably.
He sluggishly pushed Terumi Mei away and continued crawling toward the window.
"Old man, even if you reach the window and jump down, you'll die. Look, the door's wide open now—you should crawl this way!"
Tamao stood at the doorway with his executioner's blade slung across his back, casually offering advice.
Everyone's expressions wavered slightly.
"Ugh…"
Master Gen opened his nearly toothless, shriveled mouth and froze, seeming to think Tamao had a point. With Terumi Mei's help, he turned and started crawling toward the door.
Tamao commented, "He's obviously still under a genjutsu—someone break it for him!"
"I'll do it!"
Izumi stepped forward, activated her three-tomoe Sharingan, scanned Master Gen, and released the genjutsu.
He snapped awake with a start.
Terumi Mei frowned and walked quickly to the window. Looking out over the mist-covered streets, she said grimly, "We're too late. All of the high-ranking Mist officials who were under genjutsu have already fled."
Her expression sharpened. "They're likely in grave danger. But saving Master Gen is good enough for now."
Tamao chuckled, "Heh, who'd have thought—because this old guy's body gave out, he actually saved himself. If he'd been ten years younger, he'd have probably been brainwashed and taken too."
Terumi Mei didn't respond.
Nonoyu also came to the window, activated her Byakugan, and scanned the fog-shrouded streets. "They're heading for the port," she said.
"…"
Terumi Mei looked down at Master Gen, who was catching his breath and gradually coming to his senses.
After a while, realizing Terumi Mei had returned with reinforcements, he urgently said, "Forget about me—go check on the Three-Tails and Six-Tails Jinchuriki! See if they're safe!"
Terumi Mei replied gravely, "Elder, the Three-Tails wasn't sealed in the Fourth Mizukage anymore, and the Six-Tails Jinchuriki's whereabouts are also unknown."
Before infiltrating the Mist Village, Terumi Mei had used the intelligence network built by Master Gen to search for the Six-Tails, but it had yielded nothing.
With her support, Master Gen was helped back into his wheelchair. His frail body trembled as he sighed helplessly:
"It was the one who controlled the Fourth Mizukage… the one with the Sharingan. Terumi Mei, you were right. Lord Fourth must've been controlled for a long time now."
Everyone was shaken by the old man's statement—not just Terumi Mei but the entire Uchiha team.
"Are you certain?" asked Izumi, puzzled.
She was annoyed as well, since the genjutsu residue left in Master Gen clearly showed Sharingan traces.
"Besides us, is there anyone else with a Sharingan?" Minami asked.
"Unlikely," the other Uchiha quickly denied.
"I think it's possible," Tamao said, stepping to the window.
Izumi and Minami were stunned, remembering the Konoha Nine-Tails incident and how the beast's eyes bore the Sharingan back then.
During the incident, the Uchiha wanted to help Konoha evacuate civilians but were ordered by Danzo to remain in place.
Thinking back now, it was likely another rogue Uchiha had controlled the Nine-Tails, leading to the entire Uchiha clan being wrongly blamed.
"I saw it with my own eyes," Master Gen said between deep breaths before slumping back in his wheelchair in despair.
Everyone fell silent, lost in thought.
"You should rest now," Terumi Mei said gently. "Right now, our priority is restoring order in the village. We'll investigate this later."
"Mm… You're right."
Master Gen nodded slowly and gave Terumi Mei a meaningful look. His aging eyes held a trace of comfort and pride.

At the Seaside Port.
Splash...
The waves rolled in ceaselessly.
Obito sensed something unusual. The Mangekyō Sharingan appeared in the eye behind his mask, and he scanned the electric poles.
Thick mist blanketed everything.
There was no sign of life.
Obito relaxed slightly. He placed a hand on the shoulder of the young boy beside him and glanced back toward the Mizukage building.
He had originally planned to use a Tailed Beast to stall Uchiha Yu—to teach him a lesson. If Yu were killed in the process, even better.
But upon reconsideration, Obito realized there was no need.
His main goal in Kirigakure was to take the Tailed Beasts. As long as he got the Jinchuriki out safely, the mission would be considered a success. As for Uchiha Yu… he'd leave that to Nagato later.
With that in mind, Obito abandoned his original plan with White Zetsu and transferred the Three-Tails from the Fourth Mizukage to the young boy next to him—a member of the Hozuki clan.
That caused a slight delay.
The boy's name was Hozuki Suigetsu, a new-generation prodigy of the Hozuki Clan.
Obito had taken a liking to him and, since he still needed the Fourth Mizukage to stall Uchiha Yu, used Suigetsu as a substitute Jinchuriki for the Three-Tails.
As he thought about this, Obito looked down at Suigetsu.
The sea breeze blew through the boy's trademark white hair. His violet eyes were vacant—he was clearly under a genjutsu.
As for the Six-Tails Jinchuriki...
Obito naturally didn't keep it on him. He knew full well that you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket.
His thoughts hadn't even finished when—
Rumble—
Suddenly, a steel cruise ship at the port ahead exploded without warning, sending a massive column of water dozens of meters high into the air.
The deafening explosion shook the heavens.
Flames roared upward.
Black smoke billowed.
The surrounding white mist was scattered by the powerful shockwave.
"..."
The firelight reflected off Obito's spiral mask. He suddenly looked up, his expression growing solemn.
That ship that just exploded—was the one he had planned to use to travel to the Land of Rain.
The Land of Rain was thousands of miles from the Land of Water.
Even with Kamui, Obito couldn't teleport at will over such distances. He needed a traditional mode of transport to make the trip.
He already knew who did it.
Uchiha Yu.
He had ordered Hōzuki Mangetsu to destroy the other's ship—he hadn't expected retaliation to come this quickly.
"So, the Fourth Mizukage was taken out this fast?" Obito murmured.
Tap—
Footsteps echoed.
Out of the white mist, Uchiha Yu stepped slowly toward him from behind, his Mangekyō Sharingan—patterned like eight thousand spears—glinting.
He said calmly:
"Yes."
In truth, Yu's real body had gone straight to the port where Obito would depart for the Land of Rain, specifically to prevent him from escaping the Hidden Mist.
If he couldn't guess Obito's train of thought, then waiting on a key route was enough.
Hearing the familiar voice, Obito's body trembled slightly. He glanced down at Suigetsu beside him. The space twisted, and he immediately pulled the boy into Kamui's dimension.
Yu saw this and smiled.
"They all brought you gifts. I've prepared a little something for you too."
Obito's voice dropped.
"You used genjutsu to manipulate the Mist's leadership. I suppose they're all heading here now, right? That's your little gift? But I'm curious—how long can you control them with your level of ocular power?"
Yu's Mangekyō flickered. Gripping his black blade Dark Moon, he lunged at Obito, slashing down in one fluid motion.
Of course, he knew this attack wouldn't land—but it would still disrupt Obito's rhythm.
Even after his plan had been exposed, Obito didn't turn around. The black blade sank into his back, yet passed through as if cutting air.
The blade fully exited his body.
Obito's eyes narrowed sharply.
Only then did he abruptly turn his head. His left arm transformed into a sharp, withered branch, slicing through the white mist toward Yu behind him.
Boom—
The jagged branch pierced Yu's torso easily, but his body—and the black blade with it—dispersed into thin air.
