Chapter 434: Double Evolutions!

[Seas, Later, S.S Spiral – Training Area]
Azure clapped his hands, his voice echoing slightly in the vast training space, "Alright, everyone!"
Pikachu leaped off his shoulder, landing with a confident thump, while Eevee gracefully dismounted his head, tail wagging eagerly as he said, "Let's get started!"
*Pop*
From their Poké Balls, a flurry of light erupted, materializing into his select Sinnoh team. First, Chimchar, a fiery little ape Pokémon, is bouncing on its toes with untamed enthusiasm, its tail flame flickering.
Chimchar cried out, already looking for a fight, "Chim-char!"
Next, a serious-faced Riolu, immediately adopting a ready stance, its blue fur gleaming as it cried out, "Ri-o-lu!"
Then, a male Ralts, its delicate frame belying its psychic potential, floated gently, observing its new surroundings with curious, intelligent eyes, "Ralts!"
*THUD*
Grounding the more agile newcomers were the heavyweights: a colossal Alpha Rhyhorn, its rocky hide rugged and ancient, letting out a low, rumbling grunt as it surveyed the room, "Rhyy…"
Beside it, an Alpha Gible, smaller but no less formidable, snapped its powerful jaws playfully, its sharp teeth glinting, and came its excited roar, "Gible-gible!"
Completing the core team were Elekid, buzzing with latent electricity, and Magby, its small, orange body radiating heat, both eager. They squeaked, jostling each other playfully, "E-le-kid! Mag-by!"
Finally, shimmering into existence with an ethereal glow was a Hisuian Alpha Zorua. Its unusual white fur, tinged with icy blue highlights, marked it as a shiny, an even rarer find. It regarded the other recruits with a mischievous, almost haunting gaze, before letting out a soft, spectral chuckle, "Zourrr…"
Overseeing this boisterous group were Azure's seasoned seniors, their presence a calming authority. Ursaring, often affectionately called 'Mama Bear' by Azure, due to her protective nature and immense strength, stood guard like a vigilant matriarch, her massive paws crossed. She rumbled, a deep sound that immediately brought a hush to the younger Pokémon, "GROOOAN!"
Beside her, Blissey, serene and comforting, was already emitting a gentle aura, ready to heal any bumps or bruises. She cooed, a soft, encouraging sound, "Bliss-sy!"
And perched on a high observation platform, Absol, its pristine white fur stark against the metal, observed with an almost prophetic solemnity, its horn subtly twitching, ever alert to potential misfortune.
Azure commanded, his voice firm but kind, "Alright, listen up, rookies! This journey won't be easy. Team Galactic is a serious threat, and the Sinnoh League is famously tough. We need to be strong, and we need to be smart. Today, we focus on the basics. Ursaring, Blissey, Absol – help them find their footing. Pikachu, Eevee, you two demonstrate!"
Pikachu wasted no time, demonstrating a blindingly fast Quick Attack, a yellow blur across the floor. Eevee followed with a graceful Double Kick, its lithe body twisting agilely.
"WHOOSH! THWACK-THWACK!"
Chimchar, inspired, immediately tried to mimic Pikachu, but stumbled, sprawling on the ground, "Chim-cha-ARGH!"
It picked itself up, shaking its head, more determined than ever. Riolu, however, watched intently, then executed a perfect Drain Punch, a shimmering wave of energy emanating from its paw.
*FWOOMP*
It landed cleanly, looking to Azure for approval. Azure gave a thumbs-up, praising it, "Excellent form, Riolu! Control that aura!"
Ralts, sensing the aggressive energies, focused inward, a faint psychic glow surrounding it. It gracefully dodged an imaginary attack, then sent out a weak but distinct Confusion, causing a small training dummy to wobble. It chirped, pleased, "Ralts!"
The Alpha Rhyhorn lumbered forward, its immense weight making the deck THUD with each step. Ursaring demonstrated a powerful Hammer Arm, slamming its paw into a reinforced wall, leaving a noticeable dent.
*CRRRRRUNCH*
Rhyhorn watched, then charged a target, its Horn Drill easily boring a hole. It bellowed triumphantly, "RHYYY-HOOOORN!"
Gible, seeing Rhyhorn's show of force, puffed itself up and attempted to use Draco Meteor, a small, unstable orb of energy forming in its mouth before dissipating with a minor POP. It looked dejected, "Gible…?"
Azure reassured, kneeling to its level, "It's alright, Gible. Draco Meteor is tricky. Let's start with Bite. Show me those jaws!"
Gible, motivated, immediately clamped its powerful jaws onto a thick training tire, tearing a chunk out with a satisfying bite, "Gible-GIBLE!"
Elekid and Magby engaged in a playful, yet energetic, spar. Elekid zapped Magby with a controlled Thundershock, earning a surprised yelp, but Magby retaliated with a small burst of Ember, which Elekid easily dodged.
Ursaring kept a watchful eye, occasionally letting out a grumble to correct their aim. The Hisuian Alpha Zorua, meanwhile, seemed to prefer observation. It melted into the shadows of the training room, its illusory abilities making it almost impossible to track.
Only when Azure called its name did it shimmer back into existence, a mischievous grin on its vulpine face, "Zoru-ah!"
It performed a breathtaking Slash, its spectral appendage tearing through the air with a SWISH, leaving behind traces of normal energy. Azure commented, "Impressive, Zorua, but let's work on direct engagement too. Illusions are great, but sometimes a head-on attack is needed."
Blissey moved between the younger Pokémon, offering gentle encouragement, healing small scrapes with Soft-Boiled, and even using Heal Pulse to soothe any anxieties. Her presence was like a warm blanket, ensuring that despite the rigorous training, the atmosphere remained positive.
Absol remained stoic, but its piercing red eyes missed nothing, occasionally subtly nudging a younger Pokémon out of the way of a potential misstep. Hours passed in a blur of shouts, Pokémon cries, and the rhythmic sounds of training.
Azure moved among his team, offering personalized advice, demonstrating techniques, and ensuring that each Pokémon understood its role. Pikachu and Eevee were invaluable, acting as sparring partners and motivators, their experience shining through in every move they use.
By the time the ship's dinner bell rang, signaling the end of the day's session, the new team, though tired, buzzed with a newfound camaraderie and a tangible increase in their fighting spirit.

The first few days at sea were spent in the ship's state-of-the-art training facility. Azure had rented out the entire Level 4 Combat Deck.
He needed his newest recruits to be ready. While Pikachu and Eevee were his powerhouses, he preferred to raise a regional team for each new journey to keep his edge sharp.
Azure called, tossing a handful of Poke Balls into the air, "Alright everyone, come on out!"
*POP*
In a series of white flashes, the deck filled with life. Chimchar, who immediately started doing backflips; Riolu, who took a meditative stance; a male Ralts with a surprisingly stern expression; an Alpha Rhyhorn and an Alpha Gible, both towering over their standard counterparts with intimidating auras; an Elekid and Magby who immediately started a friendly wrestling match; and finally, a ghostly, ethereal presence—a Shiny Hisuian Alpha Zorua. Its snowy white fur and blue-tipped wisps flickered like cold flames.
Then came the seniors who helped in their training. Ursaring let out a low, grounding rumble. Blissey appeared with a basket of snacks and a focused glint in her eyes, ready to provide medical support. Absol stood silently in the corner, its horn sensing the subtle shifts in the ship's momentum.
Lastly, a Porygon2 flickered into existence, its digital body hovering with mathematical precision. Azure said, his voice dropping into his Commander persona, "Alright, team. You know the usual. Blissey, use Gravity!"
The pink Pokémon clapped her hands, "Bliss-ey! (On it!)"
*WHOMP*
The air in the training room suddenly felt ten times heavier. The Gravity field pressed down on everyone. The younger Pokémon struggled, their legs shaking under the increased atmospheric pressure.
Azure smiled, seeing their resistance as he commanded, "Good! Now, Chimchar, Elekid, Magby—sparring match! Move like the floor is lava! Riolu, focus on your Aura sensing. Don't look with your eyes; look with your aura!"
*Fwoosh*
*Zap*
*Crackle*
The room became a whirlwind of activity. Chimchar lunged forward with an Ember, which Magby countered with a Smog screen. Elekid punched through the smoke with a Thunder Shock, the sound of static electricity through the air.
Azure watched them closely, providing advice. He noticed the Hisuian Zorua lingering in the shadows, its eyes following Porygon2. Azure encouraged, "Zorua, don't just watch. Use Illusion to mimic the movements of the opponents to trick them. Help the others sharpen their reactions."
The Zorua nodded, its body shimmering as it suddenly transformed into a perfect replica of Azure himself. It pointed a finger at Gible, and a burst of ghostly energy—Shadow Sneak—zipped across the floor.
*Snap*
Gible jumped, surprised, but quickly retaliated with a Dragon Breath. The breath hit the floor where the illusory Azure had been just a second before.
Azure muttered, "Nice work."
He felt a chill crawl down his spine—not from the training, but from the shadows behind him. He knew that tucked away in the darkness, Marshadow and Darkrai were watching from the shadows.
They were his hidden blades, the protection he promised the Berlitz family. He whispered, "You two…"
The shadows beneath his feet seemed to detach and lengthen. Out of the darkness, the red-eyed glare of Darkrai emerged, its tattered, ghostly cloak billowing in a wind only it could feel.
Beside it, the small, lithe form of Marshadow manifested, its green-souled eyes peering up at its master. Azure instructed calmly, "Darkrai, keep the dreams of the crew peaceful. I don't want anyone getting suspicious of our presence. Marshadow, you're my shadow-guard. If anyone is suspicious, notify me."
Marshadow gave a silent, grim nod and melted back into Azure's shadow. Darkrai simply floated upward, fading into the darkening sky like a bad memory.
Azure sighed in relief as he turned his gaze to Ursaring and Porygon2. He pondered before finally making up his mind, 'I'll need all the power I can get. Plus, I could use some muscle and finally evolve Ursaring and Porygon2. Good thing a full moon would be out tonight, but better to ask them first.'
Having his mind made up, Azure shifted his focus to the younger ones. A smile blossomed on his face as his Pichu (Mew) slept in his Jacket…

[Seas, Nighttime (Full Moon), S.S Spiral]
As dusk painted the ocean in hues of orange and purple, Azure led his Pokémon back out onto a quieter, open deck, the vast expanse of the night sky unfolding above them. The air was cooler now, and a radiant full moon was beginning to ascend, casting a silvery glow across the gentle waves.
The younger Pokémon were tucked away inside their Poké Balls, resting from their strenuous day. Only Ursaring and Porygon2 remained with him, alongside Pikachu, Eevee, and the sleeping Pichu (Mew).
Azure gazed at Ursaring, her powerful form silhouetted against the moonrise. He began, his voice soft, yet serious, "Ursaring. And Porygon2."
The digital duck Pokémon floated silently, its geometric eyes fixed on Azure, a calm intelligence radiating from it as he continued, "We're heading into some serious territory. Team Galactic isn't like other organizations. They're ruthless, and their goals... they could shake the very foundations of this world."
He paused, letting his words hang in the crisp night air as he continued, "I wouldn't force either of you to do something you're not ready for. You're strong as you are, both of you. But there's a way you could become even stronger, gain new power that might be crucial in what's to come."
Ursaring let out a low, questioning growl, looking from Azure to the rising moon. Porygon2 shifted its weightless form, processing his words with its advanced AI.
Azure reached into his bag, pulling out two items. For Ursaring, a rough, earthy block, dark and dense, shimmering faintly with a primordial energy: a Peat Block, as he says, "Ursaring, with this, under the full moon, you can evolve. Become an Ursaluna. Your strength, your resilience… it will reach new heights."
Then, he held up his Arc Phone, its sleek, futuristic design a stark contrast to the ancient Peat Block. The screen glowed faintly, displaying lines of complex code and data. He continued, holding it out, "Porygon2. This Arc Phone contains all the data needed, all the information about your evolution. If you wish, you can integrate with it, access it, and evolve into Porygon-Z. A Porygon-Z with unprecedented data processing capabilities, an absolute digital powerhouse. It would give us an edge against Team Galactic's tech, a distinct advantage."
He looked from one Pokémon to the other as he said softly, "This isn't a demand. It's an offer. If you prefer to stay as you are, I'll respect that. I'll make new plans, bring in some of our old teammates if necessary. Your choice, truly."
Ursaring considered the Peat Block, then looked at Azure, then at Pikachu and Eevee, who watched with bated breath. A deep rumble emanated from her chest, a sound of contemplation.
Finally, with a resolute nod, she reached out a massive paw and gently took the Peat Block, turning her gaze towards the ascending moon. She roared, a decision made, "GROOOOOAN! (For my cubs!)"
Porygon2, on the other hand, made no sound, but its geometric eyes momentarily glowed brighter, internal calculations whirring at immense speed. It floated closer to the Arc Phone, hovering inches from the screen…
*Plop*
Then, with a decisive shift, it phased partially into the device, its digital form merging with the data stream. The Arc Phone's screen flared with an intense, sapphire light, displaying an intricate vortex of information, symbols, and glowing lines of code, all swirling rapidly as its screen flashed.
A high-pitched, almost electronic CRESCENDO filled the air, "WHIRRRRR-ZAP! (FULL POWER!!!)"
*FLASH*
As the Arc Phone pulsed with light, Ursaring began to glow under the full moon's gaze. The Peat Block dissolved into her fur, and her form began to distort, growing larger, more substantial.
Her brown fur deepened to a rich, earthy tone, and a large, almost plate-like golden disc materialized on her chest, adorned with a swirling pattern. Her nose became darker, and her eyes, though retaining their warmth, gained a newfound intensity.
*RMBL*
A soft, earthy growl emanated from her as the transformation reached its peak, "Urrr… ROAR!!!"
The Arc Phone, too, reached a zenith of light, then slowly the glow began to recede, revealing Porygon2's new form. Its once orderly, geometric body now seemed… glitchier, yet somehow more fluid.
Its head was a separate, floating entity, connected by a neck of energy. Its limbs were jointed in strange, impossible angles, often appearing to flicker or phase in and out of existence. Its digital eyes burned with an even sharper intelligence, reflecting a vast, newly acquired data stream.
A series of complex, almost musical BEEP-BOOP-WHIZZ sounds emanated from it as it hovered, perfectly stable despite its chaotic appearance. Azure grinned, a wide, genuine smile of pride, "Ursaluna! Porygon-Z! You both look incredible!"
Ursaluna let out a powerful, resonant roar that carried across the waves, a declaration of new strength, "UR-SA-LUUU-NA!"
Porygon-Z spun in a complex, digital pirouette, its form shimmering, as if testing the bounds of its new reality, "WHIZZ-CLACK-BEEP! (MY SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN UPDATED AND BEYOND! ACCESS TO PREVIOUS ABILITIES AND MOVEPOOL LIMIT GONE!! PORYGON-Z.ExE IS AT YOUR SERVICE!!)"
Azure sighed in relief, seeing his two longest Pokémon finally evolving. He then began to check their status and info to see how much they changed.
[Ursaluna the Peat Pokémon. Ursaluna's Evolution is believed to have been triggered by Ursaring being exposed to the swampy terrain of the Hisui region during a full moon. Ursaluna's resilient physique allows it to travel through the swamps with ease, and it can also manipulate peat to its advantage.
Ursaluna are known to be good at searching for items, and even missing persons, using their sense of smell. A special Ursaluna is worshipped in Hisui for being a descendant of the ten ancient Pokémon blessed by Arceus. He is one of the Ride Pokémon who resides in Crimson Mirelands, watched over by the warden Calaba. This special Ursaluna is known to assist humans.]

[Porygon-Z the Virtual Pokémon. Porygon-Z was given additional software to increase its abilities further, and its offensive power has greatly increased. The initial idea was to give Porygon2 the ability to travel through alien dimensions, but it did not work as planned. Instead, the resulting Pokémon began showing highly erratic, unstable behavior and twitchy movements, making it difficult to work with for research.
As a result, it is believed that the experiment to create Porygon-Z was a failure. This has been attributed to the incompetence of the engineer in improperly updating the programming.
Academics can't seem to agree on whether Porygon-Z should be considered a true Evolution of Porygon2. In ancient Hisui, people were confused about Porygon-Z and its evolutionary relatives due to them arriving through space-time distortions and being the product of far more advanced technology than what was available at the time.]

Azure's eyes widened seeing Porygon-Z's Status info as he thought, 'The hell?! Porygon-Z not only has its other abilities but also no Move limit as well?!!'
Seeing this, he was stunned. But when he looked at the Arc Phone, recalling where it originated, he pondered, '… it was made from the Guild Master AND Arceus. Having that much data and knowledge… it must've contained the perfect means for Porygon-Z to compute and utilize the best it can do… not only that, but it might also be possible it gained some energy from the Arc Phone itself when it evolved inside…'
Azure wasn't sure of his answer, but for now, he ignored it as he had more pressing matters to announce. Azure noted, glancing at the Arc Phone, "The data from this phone really is something else. It didn't just evolve you; it optimized you."
Porygon-Z puffed its chest out in pride at Azure's words. He chuckled as he thought, 'At the very least, it seems like Porygon-Z is going to be added to the party. And I have a new powerhouse to have around.'
