Lysandra stepped back into the room and saw Albertina undressing. She sighed and wen to sit on the bed and looked away from her sister. She actually felt bad about the previous night, but Albertina has got some nerves to talk back at her in such manner.
Albertina pressed her lips together and stared over her shoulder. Lysandra was arranging the bed. "Good morning sister," she wished and waited for her reply but it didn't come. She pouted like a child and turned to face Lysandra. "I'm sorry for acting so rude yesterday night," she apologize with a red face and clenched fist.
"Good morning," Lysandra responded without raising her head. "It's alright Albertina, I'm not angry," she replied before sitting on the bed. "You have to stay away from Arin."
Albertina nodded earnestly. "Okay sister," she answered. Arin wasn't that bad but if that was going to cause an issue, she would gladly side with her sister. "You too. Stay away from Lord Darkhaven. He's more dangerous that Arin," Albertina said with a stifled laugh.
Lysandra's face turned red like a cooked shrimp. She looked towards Albertina and groaned, "I'm not close to him, Tina and don't even think I'll fall for someone like him," she huffed.
"I didn't say that Sandra," Albertina laughed. Lysandra turned redder as she thought about Kael.
A knock suddenly interrupted their good time. Silence fell inside the room as both princesses stared at the door with anxiety. Things have been rough lately and they were on edge.
Lysandra approached the door with stealth and caution. She was about to open it when a woman's voice came from the other side. "My ladies, breakfast is served."
Melissa frowned so hard outside the room to the extent that her flawless make-up started to crack. She didn't know who the girls were but the King and Lord Arin were holding them in high esteem. Early this morning, Lord Kael Darkhaven had come for the same girls.
The door pulled open and she came face to face with a red-haired girl. "Who are you?" She asked in curiosity and tried to peer inside the room. Lord Arin had only come with the girl Albertina and not this.
Lysandra blocked the woman's line of sight. "You don't need to know," she replied and outstretched her hand with a smile. For some reason, she didn't like the woman.
Melissa clenched her teeth and handed the tray of food to the girl. Lord Arin brought one of the girls yesterday and today, Lord Kael. "As you wish," she shot back at the girl before sashaying away.
After having roast beef and batter pudding, both princesses dressed up and got ready to leave the inn. It was still snowing outside and the street was less filled with people. Lysandra held the sack of jewelry tightly against her chest as she made her way towards the carriage park. Beside her, Albertina carried the second sack.
"How do we know where we are going?" She asked as the snow crunched beneath their boots. Her hood shifted to the side as she looked around her.
Lysandra paused and brought out the access grant letter from her fur coat pocket. She read through it and handed it to Albertina. "Here, take a look at it."
This letter was granted to the individual in possession of it. Hereby, they should be taken to Frostfall town.
The King
A grin spread across her face as she handed the letter back to Lysandra. "That is wow. What does this Frostfall town look like?" She poised a question at her sister as they began walking.
Frosty air nipped at her nose as she positioned her hood to cover her hair. Now, she was wondering who was the king of Everia. So far, she has only seen Lord Arin and Lord Kael. "Ice, frozen lake, busy town," Lysandra listed and was about tucking the letter into her pocket when someone collected it from her.
"Lysandra! The letter!" Albertina screamed as her eyes went round in surprise. Simultaneously, Lysandra dropped the jewelry sack and burst into a chase. Somehow, the scene felt familiar. 'Why were they after the letter?' she thought to herself and people stared at them in confusion.
Lysandra kept adjusting her hood as she pursued the man. She dodged carriages, jumped over one thing or the other. Now, she didn't look like a princess.
The thief ran as fast as his legs could carry him. This was the second time he was getting paid to steal the letter from the lady with red hair. Just when the young lady started gaining on him, he slowed down and passed the letter to another person amongst the crowd.
After collecting the letter and reading it, the unknown person passed the letter to another person. He immediately blended into the crowd and that instant, the Lord of Everia showed up.
Kael materialized amongst the crowd and gripped the person who was holding the letter and pulled him out of the crowd. Not only did they steal the letter he has given Lysandra, they have been spying on her.
Lysandra came to a sudden halt as she stared wide mouthed at Kael pulling someone amongst the people. The people quickly moved from the lord as the ground shook.
"What is happening?" Someone asked from the crowd.
"It seems we've caught the thief," Arin's voice came from behind Lysandra who was panting after the chase. She quickly looked over her shoulder and saw Arin grinning like a mischievous child. He made his way towards Kael who was still holding the young boy.
Arin took charge as he grabbed the boy from Kael. "He's a lad. Fishy," she said and scrunched his nose. Kael ignored him and made his way towards Lysandra who was panting. She looked petrified and curious at the same time.
As he approached her, Lysandra felt her breath increased. He was still in the coat she had seen on him earlier this morning. Albertina came to stand by her side with the two sacks in her hands. "What's with stealing our letters," she huffed in annoyance.
"Are you hurt?" Kael asked as he gripped her face lightly. Turning it side to side, he checked if there was a mark on her body. "You are trouble Lysandra," he murmured for only her to hear.
Lysandra flushed at his touch and quickly drew back. People were looking at them in curiosity about what was happening. "I'm fine. I didn't know letters were being stolen instead of coins and valuables," she remarked and looked at the young boy in. Arin's hold.
"It's not a new thing, princess. It seems your father isn't the only one who wants you," he mused in amusement.
