Just as she was squatting down to put on her shoes, Qin Yan pulled her up with a strong tug. He looked at her eyes filled with anger and asked lightly, "Still mad?"
Wen He struggled a couple of times but couldn't break free. She muttered with a low reprimand, "Let go!"
Qin Yan remained unmoved, pulling her into his arms with one hand around her waist, holding tightly. He rubbed his stubbly chin against her shoulder and softened his tone, "Wen He, I was wrong..."
Her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn't bring herself to push him away. Her hands hung straight down by her sides, not moving.
"I was wrong; I didn't think things through enough." His arms unconsciously tightened, and he added, "I'm sorry..."
Suddenly, all Wen He's grievances surged up, and tears fell uncontrollably. She raised her hand, silently crying with a scrunched face while hitting his shoulder hard to vent all her dissatisfaction, yet she couldn't help but pull him closer with her other hand.
