Chapter 16 - Chapter 006: Destined

Today is the first day of the National Day holiday, and the streets are crowded and bustling. To avoid traffic jams and missing her train, Su Wan got up early, packed up quickly, and hurried to the train station with her violin.

Speaking of the violin, she originally thought she wouldn't bring it for just a seven-day holiday. But since she told Fu Weiheng yesterday that she would practice during the holiday, even though Fu wouldn't know if she didn't practice, she still felt guilty... So in this crowded station, she dragged her luggage with one hand and tightly held her violin with the other, fearing it would get damaged...

Although Yanchuan is not far from Yi City, normally it takes only four hours round trip by car. However, the train took a detour, turning a two-hour journey into over three hours before reaching the station.

Before returning, she had called her aunt, Su Yue. Upon hearing she was coming back, Su Yue insisted her uncle would pick her up at the station. Su Wan declined, knowing that during such a special holiday, the streets would be a mess, and her uncle would likely be stuck in traffic before even leaving the street. So, after exiting the station, Su Wan directly hailed a taxi home.

The traffic was bumper-to-bumper on the way, and it was already noon when she arrived at her aunt's house. Standing at the door, she put down her luggage to take out her key to unlock the door when suddenly, with a "click," the front door swung open from the inside, and a figure burst out wildly, unexpectedly throwing themselves at her.

Qin Mu jumped up, clinging to her: "Sis! You're finally back!"

Su Wan instinctively supported her butt: "..." Luckily, she had put the violin on the ground.

"What are you up to, you rascal!" Su Yue raised her hand, grabbed her waistband, and snapped it loudly.

"Mom! I've told you so many times! Don't snap my waistband!" Qin Mu looked slightly embarrassed, tugging at her waistband as she got off Su Wan.

"Finally back, Wanwan." Su Yue took Su Wan's backpack, hooked her arm, and led her into the living room with a smile, glancing at Qin Mu still standing at the entrance, "What are you standing there for, close the door!"

Qin Mu: "..." Mom, am I really your biological child?

Old Qin, who had been busy in the kitchen for a long time, heard the commotion, came into the living room with a spatula, and saw his wife chatting endlessly with their niece. He accused, "Wife, Wanwan just got back, and you're asking nonstop, not even giving her a glass of water."

Su Yue slapped her thigh: "Oh dear! Look at me!"

Su Wan quickly stood up and pulled her aunt: "Auntie, Uncle, do you really consider me a guest here..."

Qin Mu rolled her eyes: "Exactly, Sis has been living here for years." She muttered again, "At least I'm the real child, why don't you give me a glass of water too."

Su Yue slapped Qin Mu's butt: "Biological child! Go give your mother and sister two glasses of water!"

Su Wan: "..."

Qin Mu irritably tossed a pillow and huffed loudly, before getting up to pour a glass of water for Su Yue and dragging Su Wan to the room to vent her grievances.

"Sis! Waaah..." As soon as the door closed, Su Wan was enveloped in a big hug, with Qin Mu wrapping her legs around her again, crying and complaining, "Sis, I'm about to be squeezed dry by the mighty forces of capitalism! Waaah..."

Su Wan, struggling, retorted bluntly: "Why do I feel like you've been fed pretty well by capitalism's sugar-coated bullets?"

Qin Mu: "..."

She knew it; expecting a soothing word from Su Wan was like daydreaming!

During dinner that night, her aunt suddenly took out a bank card and pressed it into Su Wan's hand: "Wanwan, tomorrow, go with Mumu to the mall and pick out a couple of birthday gifts for yourself."

Several years ago, because of her father's passing, Su Wan was still a minor and had to be in school, so she had no choice but to stay at her aunt's house. Besides Qin Mu, her aunt had an elder son, Qin Yan. She lived with them for six years, fully aware of the additional burden and expenses her presence had caused. Although in the past two years, her cousin Qin Yan had been working abroad and helped reduce the family's financial load, she couldn't accept this money.

A mouthful of vegetables still in her, Su Wan immediately pushed it back to Su Yue: "Auntie, I can't accept it."

Su Yue put down her bowl and chopsticks, slightly furrowed her brows: "You child, always so stubborn, we're all family, you should accept it. Normally, you don't ask us for living expenses, but don't refuse this money now."

Old Qin also advised: "That's right, Wanwan, it's not easy for a young girl to work part-time outside, and living expenses are unavoidable. You won't have any spare money to buy things for yourself, so just take it, your aunt and uncle aren't short on money."
