Zoe Lewis's fair face was somewhat flushed, but she nodded seriously: "Yes!"
"You're not lying to me?"
"Why would I lie to you?"
"To trick me into being your informant. I'm President Hunter's closest aide."
Zoe laughed: "No need for that now, and I couldn't buy you off anyway. You guard against me like I'm a thief."
Lefty saw her bright smile and felt particularly at ease: "You've lost a bit of weight, it's been hard taking care of me. From now on, I'll take care of you."
"Deal!"
As they spoke, Mr. and Mrs. Zuo returned. Seeing their son awake, they happily asked questions and, confirming he was okay, told him: "We've made another donation to the hospital in your name and set up a fund to support financially challenged medical students."
"Hmm, Johan Niles will probably be very happy. He's just waiting for you to donate all your wealth to his hospital so he can squander it."
