Logan lowered his head to look at her. "How come I never knew you could be so demonstrative?"
"What, I can't?"
Seeing how justified and confident she looked, Logan couldn't help but chuckle. "Of course you can. I was actually worried you'd suffer a loss—looks like I was overthinking it."
His Mia might be timid, but she had a good head on her shoulders. She knew when to play weak and when to stand her ground—she had her own way of surviving.
The two of them were walking out when Zoe suddenly felt something was off.
She looked left and right, then stared at Logan's face for a long time.
"What's wrong?"
"Don't you feel like… someone's monitoring us?"
"Are they?"
"Yes!"
Zoe pointed to both sides. "Five on each side, ten total. I know five of them—they're Young Master Hunter's people. Who do the other five belong to? Secretary Logan, is there something you're hiding from me?"
She teasingly called him "Secretary Logan," and Logan actually found it very pleasing to hear.
