Nancy smiled and raised her hand to grasp Zhong Li's hand suspended in mid-air.
Suddenly, the elevator became pitch black, and it was plummeting rapidly. Zhong Li, in a panic, grabbed Nancy's arm.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here."
Nancy hugged Zhong Li tightly, and the two tried to lean against the elevator wall.
With a loud "bang," the elevator landed violently. Due to the inertia from the strong impact, the two lost their balance and tilted to one side. At the moment they fell, Nancy used her arm to protect Zhong Li's head, afraid she would get hurt.
"Are you okay?"
Zhong Li's head rested on Nancy's chest, clearly feeling his breath becoming more and more rapid.
Nancy unbuttoned a few buttons at the collar of her shirt, shaking her somewhat dizzy head: "I'm fine, it seems like the elevator malfunctioned."
Zhong Li straightened up from his chest and helped him into a sitting position: "I'll call someone to come over first."
"Okay," Nancy replied.
