Adrian Walyon found it quite fun to tease Summer Sutton, yet Summer's mind was not on his words.
With her feet bare, she crouched on the beach like a child, piling up sand.
She was building a sandcastle, meticulously shaping it with handfuls of fine white sand cupped in her hands.
Adrian stood behind her, watching intently for a moment at what she was building, and surprisingly found it coming along nicely.
Sitting beside her, he began to play with the sand alongside her.
"Honestly, my earlier suggestion is worth considering," he said, watching her as he continued to build.
His gaze was deep, like the vast, endless ocean beside them at night.
He looked at her with a faint smile on his lips, his dark eyes as black as a vortex, pulling one in.
"Can't you think of something proper?" Summer pried open his hands, scooped out the sand in his palms, and continued constructing her castle.
