When the door opened, she discovered he had gotten up at some point.
He was moving around the room, seemingly looking for something.
His steps seemed just as steady as when he hadn't been drinking.
Summer Sutton was dumbfounded.
"What are you looking for?" she tried asking.
"Thirsty," Adrian Walyon tossed the word to her.
"I'll help you get some water from the kitchen." Summer quickly slipped out, opened the door, and went downstairs, taking her time to come back up with a glass of water.
When she returned to the room, Adrian Walyon was waiting on the sofa.
Summer Sutton handed him the water, watching him drink it down, and then suggested, "Do you want to sleep first?"
Adrian wasn't in a rush, instead, he pulled her onto his lap, wrapping his arms tightly around her waist, burying his head in the crook of her neck, inhaling the sweet rose scent she carried.
