Lu Beichen turned around and leaned against the wall. His casual and relaxed posture exuded an elegance, though his brows were tightly knitted, slightly diminishing his usual coldness. "Is Xi Yao all right?"
"She's fine, just unable to get out of bed or eat," Ning Zesheng replied calmly.
"Mm." Lu Beichen gave him a glance, "Xi Yao returned to the country alone. You're her closest person, so take good care of her. Don't let anything happen to her, or else I'll be the one you'll have to turn to."
"Understood!"
He agreed with a sound as Lu Beichen got up and walked toward the ward. Suddenly, Ning Zesheng spoke, "Back then, why did you want Gu Xiyao and me to get engaged?"
Lu Beichen turned his head to look at him, slightly raising an eyebrow, "Why? Regretting it?"
Ning Zesheng remained silent. Lu Beichen continued, "You didn't refuse back then, so there's no chance for regrets now. It's been six years since Xi Yao got engaged to you. By now, there must be some feelings involved."
