Chapter 10 - Save us

[Gory scene ahead, read with caution]

Heuk Jin snapped his head in her direction, seeing the mutated Zombie gripping onto her as though she was his source of of life.

"How did he get there?" He gripped his katana, his eyes almost rolling back into his sockets.

He swept off another fleshbinder's head before running towards Soo Min-ji.

"Damn it, how did I forget about him?" He clenched his fists increasing his pace towards Min-ji.

The mutated man kept gripping Min-ji's neck till her face was blue, and her tongue began to stick out.

Heuk Jin leapt in the air, swinging his katana at him, but he was quick to dodge the blow. He instead threw Min ji aside, making her roll downhill.. brutally.

"Oh you did not do that!" Heuk Jin cursed, swinging his katana at him again, but it dodged it again, but this time, he grabbed the katana tugging him towards him.

'How does it have so much power already?' he widened his eyes in shock trying to avoid a head on head collision with him.

"Mutated zombies are worse than I thought," he arched his brow, leaping over the zombie before they could collide.

"Tch," he landed on the other side of the zombie but without his katana, "Wait.. what?" He creased his brows, looking around for it, "Where is it?" He raised his head to see him swinging the katana with a stupid grin on his face.

"How could I be so careless?" He groaned.

"Heuk Jin!" He heard a shrill cry coming down from somewhere.

"Hmm?" He looked over his shoulders seeing Min-ji's hand waving frantically.

More fleshbinders were coming her way, and in their numbers.

"What the actual fuck?" He squinted his eyes, his face breaking out in a cold sweat.

 Swing!

The cold metal of his blade barely missed his neck. He rolled back, standing on his feet, "You! How could you be so weak?" He gritted his teeth, kicking him back, "All you had to do was just try to resist at least!" He hissed, doing a triple spin kick midair, aiming at his head.

The mutated man staggered backwards clearly affected by the triple kicking. The impact from Heuk Jin's shin made him drop the katana in shock.

"Finally!" He immediately reached for it before the mutated man could react.

"Kiss your human heart a final goodbye!" He hissed.

With a sickening squelch, he plunged it right through his eye, then immediately pulling it out. He did again to his left eye, then drove it deeper into his nose bridge mercilessly.

Blood bubbled as the katana was pulled free yet again.

Then,

Thrust!

He drove it back into his chest with a sickening force. Pulling it out, he plunged it back into his rib cage at strategic points, stabbing him multiple times.

When he was done with slashing the mutated man, he finally decapitated him letting his head roll about in the sand.

He immediately turned on his heels running towards Soo Min-ji.

"Pretty human! I'm coming!" He yelled at the top of his lungs so Soo Min-ji could hear him even under the deafening roars of the fleshbinders.

Soo Min-ji scrambles her way back to the top of the sandhill with frantic feet. Her body was trembling as she was now without her weapon, neither could she even land a blow properly on any of them.

She looked back over her shoulders to see the host of them rushing in her direction.

"You can do this Min-ji, you can do this," she dipped her hands into the sand scrambling her way to the top.

Heuk Jin ran to her,"Give me your hand, quick!" He stretched out his hand.

She stretched out her hand to take his quickly, "Why are there so many of them?" Her eyes rolled back into her sockets, as she was breathing heavily.

He grabbed her wrists pulling her up, "I honestly do not remember them being in such numbers," he immediately got to his feet, yanking her along with him.

"We need a place to hide, we can't possibly finish all of them at once. We have to think of something first," Soo Min-ji breathed beside Heuk Jin.

He shook his head, "Hiding from these fleshbinders is not an option. It is either you fight," he glanced at her, "Or you die."

She shuddered, "but we can't keep running just to stall," a powerful force sent her crashing forward rolling on the sand.

Heuk Jin was barely able to register what happened before he sensed one of them leaping at him. He was just in time to quickly land a blow on its neck.

Unfortunately for them, the fleshbinders weren't even backing down a bit.

"What is wrong with these particular sets?" Heuk Jin groaned.

"Heuk Jin get out of there!" Soo Min-ji screamed at him.

"What?" He snapped his head in her direction, only to see a small like knife with a crystal body lounged at him.

His pupils dilated, and he made to jump to the side, but it was too late, the small-like knife had already ran past his face, tearing it.

Soo Min-ji was still struggling with a fleshbinder that was aiming for her chest instead of her head.

"What exactly do you want from us?" She managed to take a hold of its head, and crack! She twisted its head brutally to the side, breaking its neck.

Blood immediately began to spill, but she was quick enough to kick it far away from her.

"Damn it!" She looked over where Heuk Jin was kneeling, groaning loudly. The knife wasn't actually a knife. The fleshbinder that had been struggling with Heuk Jin had spat that at Heuk Jin to slow him down.

Soo Min-ji ran towards him, "Huek Jin! Oh my gosh are you okay?" She held his shoulders.

"Oh this is bad," she put his hand over her shoulders leading him to rock like cave nearby.

Unfortunately as always, the fleshbinders were no where like the shamblers or fleshbinders who were slow. These were painfully too fast, running with the speed of light.

They kept leaping at them, but she stood her ground, "You damn bitches! Leave me the fuck alone!" She gently made Heuk Jin who was almost passing out lie on the ground while she drew out his katana.

She kept swinging the katana around helplessly, (as she had never used one before).

"None of you are getting me just yet!"

Crack!

A head went rolling down.

Slice! Crack!

She cut off one of it's hand, then aimed at its neck.

Soo Min-ji was quite observant, and she had observed how weak these were at their neck.

Screaming helplessly, she kept on swinging, swiping, slicing.

The heads went on rolling, falling backwards, but they still weren't close to all wiping out yet.

"I don't think I can do this alone," she exhaled, her face dripping with sweat.

CRACK, SWIPE, SLICE!

Soo Min-ji was startled to see Heuk hin, bleeding profusely, back on his feet again.

He turned to her, "I need you to do something for me, at this point you're the one who can save both of us from this mess."
