Charlotte Smith finished her shower and went straight to bed.
In her hazy state, she seemed to hear the noise from the servants downstairs, suggesting someone had returned.
Half-awake and half-dreaming, she felt footsteps coming from outside her door, someone standing before her, looking down at her.
She was extremely sleepy, her mind foggy, and she couldn't open her eyes. Soon, her consciousness was pulled into a deeper dream, and she remembered nothing.
When she woke up, it was already morning.
A dreamless night, she sat up in bed and instinctively looked around the room.
The two large suitcases she had packed were quietly placed by the door, showing no signs of having been moved.
She had dreamt yesterday, dreaming that Robert Stephens had returned...
Shaking her head, she couldn't help but chuckle bitterly.
Clearly, she was already planning to leave, but she still dreamt of him for some reason.
