She was no match for that man. Even though she knew he was the one responsible for her family's downfall, she couldn't harm a hair on his head.
Edward Stephens's return time was unpredictable. Daisy Ginger lingered upstairs for half an hour and still didn't hear the sound of his car. It wasn't until Charlotte Smith came to knock on the door personally that she had to go open it.
"If you're waiting for the second young master to return, you might be disappointed," Charlotte said, looking at her. "The second young master has a meeting tonight; he might return very late."
Daisy heard the underlying message and couldn't help but smile, "It seems your master really wants to see me today."
