Daisy Ginger's stretch paused slightly.
She turned her head to look at Edward Stephens, who was leaning against the headboard.
He was wearing a shirt, with a loosely tied tie, and his black hand-tailored suit was casually thrown on a nearby sofa. He looked like a big cat that hadn't had enough sleep, lazily sprawled out, clearly too tired to even bother changing clothes after work before collapsing into bed.
She looked at his messy hair, reached out to smooth it down, and couldn't help but laugh, "Are you a kid? Staying up all night just because I wasn't home."
Edward caught her hand, playing with her slender fingertips in his palm, "This home is too lonely without you. I didn't want to come back."
His fingers traced her palm, stirring a slight flutter in her heart.
Those words sounded so nice, and being needed felt so intoxicating. Daisy's heart skipped a beat as his cool fingertips glided over her warm palm, like a current running from her fingertips straight to her heart.
