"Why are you reacting so strongly? I was just joking." Jorge Saxton tilted his head, looking at the overly reactive Lydia Brooke.
Lydia shifted her gaze to the two kids playing tennis, her voice somewhat cool, "It's not funny at all."
How could Derek joke about Iris like that? Such jokes shouldn't be made. Because Derek and Iris are first cousins...
Lydia's sudden coolness and detachment left Jorge puzzled. He pressed his lips together, glanced toward the sports field, and fell silent.
Why does he find Lydia harder and harder to understand these days?
It was just a joke. He only wanted a topic to talk about with her.
As the two remained at an impasse, several figures walked toward them.
"Uncle!" Ryan Seys's crisp voice rang out.
Jorge and Lydia turned their heads simultaneously to see Dawn Sutherland and Daisy Grant arriving with Ryan and Finley Sutherland.
"What brings you here?" Jorge asked as Dawn and Daisy approached.
