Ariel Morris's voice carried panic and despair, shaking her head in collapse, refusing to accept this sudden fatal blow.
Arlo Seys held her tightly, his thin lips brushing against Ariel Morris's forehead, soothing her helpless and fearful emotions, his voice gentle: "Don't be afraid, I'm here, don't be afraid, with me here, I am your eyes."
"Arlo, I've gone blind. From now on, I'm just a blind person, a useless one. Would you still want a Ariel Morris like this?!" Ariel Morris wept, shaking her head in Arthur's embrace.
"When I, Arlo, had nothing, would you still want me? Ariel, it's your eyes that are damaged, not your mind! Don't ask such silly questions!" Arlo yelled in a low voice.
On the brink of collapse, Ariel Morris suddenly calmed down. Her expression became much more composed, her voice hoarse: "Arlo, let's go home."
Now that she couldn't see, what was the point of wandering around? All she saw was darkness, endless darkness.
