Arlo Seys sighed, "I'll go back to the ward to accompany Ariel. Dawn, go take care of your own things." Arlo was about to leave when he saw Dawn Sutherland draw a new cigarette from the pack and said solemnly, "Smoke less, smoking too much harms the lungs, it's not good for your health."
Dawn gave a bitter smile, "But it won't hurt the heart. Arlo, go take care of Ariel. I'll sit quietly here for a couple of minutes before heading to my company to handle matters."
Arlo responded blandly and headed back to Ariel Morris's ward.
After Arlo left, Dawn caressed the watch on his left wrist with fingers still holding a cigarette, murmuring solemnly, "Daisy Grant, the whole world is telling me to give you up, including you—what am I supposed to do?"
So many people lose in the most difficult choice between giving up and holding on.
