Ariel Morris felt a bit guilty about lying, not daring to look at Arlo Seys's expression.
Arlo Seys's gaze shifted slightly and he gave her a deep look, "Rest well, I'm here with you. Is there anything you want to eat? I can have Aunt Forest buy it for you."
"I want to eat bayberries! And hawthorn! Oranges!" Ariel Morris blurted out. Only after she spoke did she realize she had mentioned all sour foods. She immediately laughed and said, "Well—sour things whet my appetite. My appetite hasn't been great recently, so I might like sour things."
"I understand." Arlo Seys's expression was calm, not exposing Ariel Morris's lie at all.
