As Veralina Quinn and Nicole Seys left, Dawn Sutherland looked at Ariel Morris and smiled, "It seems this third wheel should step aside, or else I'll be too conspicuous and glaring, right?"
Ariel Morris's face turned a shade of red, "Brother Dawn, I didn't say anything."
Dawn Sutherland chuckled, "I know when to be tactful, and take my leave. I'll leave Arlo in your care."
With that, Dawn Sutherland smiled gently, turned, and left the hospital room, thoughtfully closing the door behind him.
Inside the room, suddenly, all was silent.
Ariel Morris wheeled herself closer to the man lying on the bed. His face was so white and bloodless that as Ariel Morris gazed at him, she recalled the words he had said just before he fainted at the bottom of the slope, inexplicably feeling her nose tingling, mist clouding her bright eyes.
She picked up the pale fingers beside the bed, holding them tightly in her palm. Arlo Seys' hand was still icy, a chill that made her heart ache terribly.
