Chapter 75 1610, Ultimate Universe

My name is Peter Parker. I was bitten by a Radiation Spider Project, and since then, I've gained superpowers.

And so, for the next ten years, I became the one and only Spider-Man in this world. You know the rest: with great power comes great responsibility.

I fight crime around the clock. Honestly, I wasn't too fond of this job at first. I had no time for Aunt May, no time to date Mary Jane.

Oh, and the Battle Suit was way too tight, especially down there, you know.

But like a bottle of red wine—okay, maybe that's too fancy, doesn't fit my friendly neighborhood image.

Let's try again, like… oh, alright, nothing else comes to mind right now. Let's stick with the wine.

Like a bottle of red wine, the older the vintage, the more valuable it gets. As time went on, I found my work wasn't so bad after all.

People started to love me more and more, and I fell in love with this job. So, for those who love me, no matter how many times I get knocked down, I'll always get back up.

This time is no different.

"Bang!"

A red and blue figure burst through the Glass, crashing into the Wall. The massive Impact Force even caused cracks to spiderweb across the Wall.

"Ow! My back!" Peter groaned in pain. A blurry, massive shadow hurtled towards him like a thunderbolt.

Peter pushed off the Wall, dodging the attack sideways. A deafening crash followed, and the Wall crumbled into pieces.

"Oh, this reminds me of the Lego set I never finished as a child."

Peter shot out Web, creating distance from the shadow. A Fragment of debris ricocheted off his face and landed in his open Hand.

"Just like that, it was kicked to pieces by bullies. Even this is similar, childhood trauma, for sure."

Peter examined the Fragment in his Hand for a moment before tossing it at the shadow.

"Hey! Norman! I know you're nuts, but I didn't think you guys were planning to blow Brooklyn sky-high!"

The Fragment flew through the billowing smoke, and a muffled thud echoed a moment later.

"Thump!"

"Bullseye!" Peter cheered, raising his Hands in victory. "I hit your Head, didn't I? I've hit it enough times, I know that Sound!"

Peter's response was an enraged roar and a thick Steel Bar hurtling towards him.

Peter leaned back, narrowly avoiding the flying Steel Bar.

"Seriously, that must have stung."

"I'm going to rip that mouth of yours off!"

Norman roared, bursting out of the smoke, wings flapping as he charged at Peter.

Norman pressed his attack relentlessly, but Spider-Man darted and weaved.

The Green Goblin was full of openings, and Peter seized his chance.

"Boom!"

Spider-Man's right Punch connected squarely with the Green Goblin's Face. Green Goblin flew back as fast as he'd come, tumbling head over heels, his Head spinning, crashing into the Debris Pile and unable to get up for a long while.

"Honestly, Norman, you're scarier when you're just a regular guy."

Peter, the working-class Spider-Man perched on the Wall, taunted the capitalist sprawled in the Debris Pile.

'This is why I love this job,' Peter thought to himself, secretly pleased. But then his Spider-Sense buzzed urgently.

Disengaging the Bio-Electrostatics in his feet, Peter dropped instantly from the Wall, narrowly dodging another attack.

"Boom!"

A purple blur, carrying incredible force, smashed through yet another Wall. Peter, seeing this, opened his annoying mouth again.

"Seriously, do Supervillain always have to smash through a Wall to show how tough they are when they show up? Do you guys have that much Money to fix it all?"

"I do have plenty of Money," Green Goblin grunted, clambering out of the debris. His towering three-meter frame made the construction materials look almost miniature.

"Hey! I wasn't talking to you!" Peter, the working stiff, pointed at Norman, flustered and annoyed.

"Enough to fill a truck with flowers for your funeral!"

Norman snatched up a Crane Boom lying nearby and swung it at Peter. Peter was about to dodge, but his Super Vision caught sight of something: a small, black Little Guys was screaming on the Crane Boom.

"Ah!"

'Miles?' The purple figure also spotted the Little Guys, a conflict raging within him. He was about to rush forward to rescue him, but another figure was even faster.

Spider-Man shot out Web, snagged a Container on the ground, and with a grunt of effort, hurled it at Green Goblin. Green Goblin, too bulky to evade, was sent flying.

The Crane Boom slipped from Norman's grasp. Fear gripped Miles's heart, and his Bio-Electrostatics faltered. He plummeted from the Crane Boom.

Spider-Man moved like lightning, swinging on Web, catching Miles as he fell from the sky.

Miles was drenched in sweat, trembling and clinging to Spider-Man, still terrified.

"Seriously, kid, I never thought I'd be Princess Carrying a boy one day." Peter, seeing Miles was petrified, decided to crack a joke to distract him.

"Buzz!"

Both of their Spider-Senses went off simultaneously. Peter looked at Miles in astonishment.

"Wait, I thought I was the only one. You're like me?"

"I… I didn't… want this either…" Miles's Skin was pale, his teeth chattering, but he managed to speak.

"Afraid you don't have a choice, kid." Peter said, carrying Miles to a Safety spot.

Peter gently set him down, speaking softly, "I know you're confused. Trust me, I understand your Mood right now."

"Oh… of course." Miles collapsed onto the ground the moment his feet touched down, his legs still shaky from the ordeal.

"Don't worry, you'll be alright." Peter crouched down, patting Miles's Shoulder reassuringly.

"Once I'm done with Business, I'll teach you a few moves."

Peter was about to say more when a deafening Machine roar cut him off.

"Oh, gotta run, work calls." Peter sprang to his feet, not forgetting to tell Miles as he left,

"Wait for me here, I'll be back soon."

With that, he shot out Web and swung towards the source of the Sound.

After Peter left, Miles shakily got to his feet, frantically patting his pockets for his Mobile phone, wanting to call for help. But it was gone. It must have fallen out during the chaos.

The loss of his Mobile phone deflated Miles. He slumped for a moment, then turned his gaze in the Direction Peter had gone.

"There are more of them," Miles swallowed hard, muttering to himself.

"Maybe he needs my help. He did say I'm like him."

Miles hesitated, then finally, overcoming his Fear, he started walking, following the Direction Spider-Man had taken.

Spider-Man's trail was easy to follow – just track the Web. But he was on foot, so it was much slower going.

Miles quickened his pace, and soon spotted a Round Door emitting White Light.

Reaching the Doorway, the sight before him made his jaw drop.

"Oh my God." Miles stared in awe at the Large Space before him. It was as big as a football field, maybe even bigger.

The Doorway was pure white, flanked by Pillars extending from the Wall on either side. Scaffolding structures stood near the Pillars.

In the center was a massive Glass wall, directly opposite the Gate, but it was too far to see clearly inside.

"Bang!"

A muffled Sound snapped Miles's attention back. He turned his Head and saw Spider-Man battling someone in mid-air.

The purple enemy was spewing flames from his feet, using Flight to relentlessly attack Spider-Man, proving to be a tough opponent.

But that wasn't the worst of it. There was another enemy.

Green Goblin lurked nearby, waiting for his chance. Seizing the moment when Spider-Man was preoccupied, he landed a heavy Punch from the side, sending Spider-Man crashing into the Glass.

The Glass was surprisingly strong, showing no damage at all. Spider-Man shook his Head, but before he could get up, Green Goblin stomped on him.

"Roar!"

Green Goblin roared in Spider-Man's Face, spraying saliva as he did.

"Ugh," Peter recoiled, trying to dodge the spit.

"Disgusting, Norman. Hope you don't have anything contagious."

"Good evening, Spider-Man."

A voice Peter knew all too well echoed. Peter looked towards the Glass and, sure enough, Kingpin was watching him from the other side.

"Like my new toy? Cost me a fortune, but who cares?"

As Kingpin spoke, he kept clicking the Button of a Ballpoint Pen in his Hand, distracting Peter from knowing where to focus.

"If I played with pens like that when I was a kid, my uncle would have grounded me for life," Peter quipped.

Kingpin ignored Spider-Man's jab and continued, unfazed.

"Thank you for coming all this way. Since you're such a dedicated fan, I simply must let you enjoy the Light Show I've been preparing for so long."

Kingpin raised his Hand, signaling his men to activate the Machine.

As the Start Button was pressed, two massive Machine roared to life, slowly whirring into action.
