Chapter 1 - CALL ME MOTHER

Hazel had always known the pain of growing up without a mother or any parental guidance in a world that often felt cruel. That all changed when she was adopted by the Brookes family, who welcomed her with open arms. As she stepped into her new room, Ashley smiled and said,

"This is your room." "Thank you," Hazel replied, a sense of wonder filling her as she entered. The walls were painted a soft pink, and the sight of the gigantic bed drew her in. Without hesitation, she flopped down onto the plush mattress, feeling its softness envelop her like a comforting embrace.

As she lay there, she admired the beauty of her new space—a sanctuary filled with warmth and possibility. In the far corner, a walk-in closet awaited her, and a cozy study area was thoughtfully arranged nearby. This place felt like a fresh start, and for the first time in a long while, Hazel felt a sense of belonging.

A soft knock echoed through the room, prompting Hazel to call out, "Come in." The door swung open, revealing Mrs. Brookes, her warm smile radiating kindness as she stepped inside.

"Hope you like your new room," Mrs. Brookes said, her eyes sparkling with genuine enthusiasm.

Hazel sat up on the bed, a smile spreading across her face as she looked around.

"I love it, thank you!" she replied, feeling a rush of gratitude.

It felt comforting to have someone care about her and her happiness. The vibrant pink walls and cozy atmosphere made her feel more at home than she ever thought possible.

"From now on, I'm going to care for you and make you feel loved," Miss Yasmin said gently, her voice warm and reassuring.

"I would love for you to call me 'Mother.' I believe it will help strengthen our bond as mother and daughter."

Hazel lowered her head slowly, unsure of how to respond to such a heartfelt offer. The idea of calling someone "Mother" felt foreign yet comforting. "It's okay if you can't say it now," Miss Yasmin assured her,

sensing Hazel's hesitance. The silence stretched between them, filled with unspoken emotions. After a moment, Hazel took a deep breath, lifted her gaze, and looked up at Miss Yasmin, a smile slowly spreading across her face.

"Mother," she uttered softly, the word feeling both strange and beautiful as it left her lips. In that moment, warmth blossomed in her chest, and she realized that she was beginning to embrace this new chapter in her life.
