This will be a rather long author note but if you don't want to read it in its entirety the summary is: chapter release will go from 7/week → 3/week, more precisely Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:00 EST.
Explanation:
I'll jump straight into the subject and say that recently I was hesitating about whether to stop writing entirely and this isn't because I lost my motivation to write or stopped loving it or anything of the sort as I still love writing as much as before, it's a hobby that I love.
The problem is that while I enjoy writing, it's undeniable that it's an extremely time consuming endeavor.
Each day I not only need to write the entire chapter(which take a lot of time) but also need to edit and polish it, release the chapter, answer comments, write notes and think about future chapters…and more.
All of that coming together takes far too much time to be reasonable for what is essentially a hobby.
And while I make some money with it—thanks to the readers that support me on Patreon—if I am honest the amount of money I make is truly pitifully small for the amount of time invested.(I am grateful to all those that support me but the reality is that)
Because of that I couldn't 'justify' continuing this hobby when it was 'wasting soo much time', which was why I was thinking of stopping writing.
I tried to think of solutions and one of those was this one:
Stop Ascension Through the Records and create a new fanfic which would be my 'writing focus'.
I know that if I did this that I probably could attract a lot of readers as this not only would be on a more popular subject than a 'random novel' but considering my better writing skill compared to when I first started writing would work far better than my original novel.
Because of that I probably would make far more money than Ascension Through the Records and it would probably make writing 'a good idea' and stop being a 'waste of time'.
From that point of view(money point of view) this is a good idea but honestly I didn't want to do that.
Writing was always first and firstmost something that I did because I liked it, not because of that money and I don't want to became a author that only write for the money and especially don't want to stop Ascension Through the Records as I really like the original story I created and I don't to stop it to create something that would be just there for money while what I am interested in would be stopped.
So after some thinking I discarded this idea and began to think about stopping writing in its entirety.
Because while I love writing it takes too much time, and—I won't go into my life and tell you my life story, but I will simply say that it wasn't working anymore and I had more important things to do with my time than 'use it' for something that was a hobby so because of that I was thinking of stopping…
But after thinking about it, I realized that I didn't want to stop writing as I loved it, so after thinking about it for a while, I decided to diminish the release rate from 1 each day to only 3 days per week.
In this way I would 'save a lot of time' while being able to continue with my book without needing to stop it.
So… yeah it's more or less what I had to say, I know it's not a nice announcement as the release rate would diminish and all but I would like to say that I am grateful to all the readers that took the time to read my book and I won't stop here.
