Chapter 7 - 7th Petal

Hasith saw Hirunya walking briskly toward the entrance. He ran forward and caught him. Luckily, no one was around the entrance at that moment, so it didn't cause a scene. Even though Hasith had caught him, in the very next moment, heq collapsed to the ground.

"You really have a habit of clinging onto every man you see, don't you? But try to find someone age-appropriate next time. Besides, I don't think anyone would even like a sl*tty boys like you. I used to not care about people like you, but now I honestly feel disgusted. Our family might not be perfect, but at least we're not from a cheap background like the Silvas. Don't ever come in front of me again. The only thing I owed you was for that medicine you gave me that day. And even that—I'll make sure you're compensated."

Before Hasith could say a word, Hirunya screamed and turned to walk away.

"Ruhi, please… don't leave me alone again…"

As Hasith called out those words with a trembling voice, there was something painfully familiar in them. But Hirunya walked away without turning back.

Time passed. A week went by after that incident, and Hasith didn't return to campus. When he finally did come back, he quickly realized that everyone was looking at him differently. He tried to ignore it and went to his locker to grab his books for the lecture—but the moment he opened it and saw what was inside, he gasped.

Both Hirunya and Dion had kept their promises. His locker was stuffed with a bundle of coins and scribbled papers filled with disgusting insults. It was horrifying.

Hasith couldn't bear to stay there any longer. As he stepped outside, a clerk approached him, saying the Dean wanted to see him. Holding back tears, Hasith went to meet the Dean. But that meeting didn't bring any comfort either. Due to the rumors that had spread about him over the past week, the university had decided to expel him.

Hasith was numb. He couldn't even remember how he walked out of campus. He wandered the streets like a madman, completely broken. While walking, he suddenly felt dizzy, and something warm started trickling from his nose. When he touched it with his fingers, he realized they were stained with blood. At that moment, he heard Aunt Shera's voice in the distance, and everything went black as he collapsed.

Hasith didn't get up again until he was admitted and diagnosed with severe depression. After a year of treatment, Hasith slowly began to recover. Once he was stable, his parents sent him to Thailand. There, he completed his degree.

Now, Hasith is a world-renowned surgeon. But the wounds of the past still rise like tides crashing against the shore, again and again.

Flashback End

When Hasith finished his story, he didn't realize that there were not just two pairs of eyes listening, but Six—two of them filled with tears.

Suddenly, their attention broke as someone entered the room.

"Oh no, Hirunya Ayiya! What happened to you? When I saw you coming this way, I had a bad feeling. I was so worried about you!"

Dressed in a pink mini dress, the girl who burst in was none other than Sadisna. But Hasith's eyes were fixed on Hirunya, who was sitting on the bed. When he saw that his eyes were locked on him, he began to tremble. He no longer wanted to stay there. He walked toward the door and reached for the doorknob.

"Hasith."

His weak, broken voice made him pause, but he didn't turn around.

"Hasith… Hasith… Mmm, I got it now. The slut from the university! Trying to seduce even my own brother. Ugh, this disgusting little b*tch, I swear if I ever—"

Smack!

The room fell dead silent after the sudden slap Sadisna received mid-sentence. Hasith turned around, expecting to see Malith or Thenu aiya—because they were like brothers to him. But instead, he saw Hirunya, her jaw clenched and eyes burning.

Hasith was shocked. If it had been Malith or Thenu aiya, he wouldn't have been surprised. But Hirunya… Would he really hit his own girlfriend, or his wife, because of him?
