"Just because?" the slime king Sal was furious. "You broke the pact just because? You won't get away with this! You will die! Don't think that you won't! Our parent will kill you, or primordial demoness Xanda will! Either way, it's over for you! There's no escape! Just you wait! Maou!
<
"What pact?" But I received no response from the slime king, Sal. Instead, he attacked, shooting slime directly at me. It came in quickly, but I managed to dodge just in time by jumping back, out of harm's way. The terrain that was hit, however, began to melt. If it had hit me, it could have been quite dangerous. That being said, I wasn't planning to get hit. And I wasn't going to be. Period.
"First and foremost, I won't kill you," Xanda declared. "As you are our champion. The champion of primordial demons. Sons and daughters of chaos. So you don't have to worry about that."
"As for the pact, I will need a few minutes to explain it, so squash that slime first."

Slime King Sal had more health than just a moment ago—regeneration was the main skill of slimes. However, this was my first time encountering it, as all the other slimes I killed had died too quickly for regeneration to take effect. But it didn't matter because it didn't regenerate enough.

"The pact," Xanda explained. "It's something that I forced upon the first true maou and my children—the monsters. I had to do so because initially, the two sides were at odds with one another due to something foolish that I've forgotten all about. As for its contents: first, do no harm. Second, assist if asked for help. And third, don't interbreed. And that's about it."
"Then why didn't you force this pact upon me?" since I was a second true maou and all.
"I would've if I weren't done with them. But I am. I don't need them anymore. Or rather—the first generation. You can do whatever you want with them; I don't care. However, that only applies to the first generation of monsters and not the second? Got it?"
"How is the second generation of monsters different from the first? And how can I differentiate the two?"
"You will understand once the egg hatches," Xanda was referring to the very strange egg she gave me.
With our conversation concluded, I continued onward to the depths of the ruins, killing the slime king Mel and the slime king Kur, along with all the other slimes in between. This leveled me up to level twenty-five and dropped me slimy pants +2 with 607 ascendance and 607 chaos, and slimy ring +2 with 1214 ascendance.
In the very depths, I found the last boss—one more slime of the most perfect size, shape, and color. Neither too big nor too small. A perfect oval. And green. A true classic.
"It's been so long since I've seen it, my first and weakest creation," there was clear pride in Xanda's voice. "Do you want me to run you through the design?"

"No," that would have been too boring; I pointed Weapon at the ultimate slime, but then something unexpected happened—it bit me. What the?

Blessing of wrath activated due to betrayal. "You dare!"
"I am deeply and utterly sorry, maou," Weapon sobbed. "Please forgive me, but if I have to choose between my parent and you! Then the choice is obvious!"
Blessing of pride activated due to the rejection. "You dare!"
"That's interesting, the loyalty from naming should be absolute…"
I shook off Weapon from my hand, leaving me unarmed; however, not for long, as I still had some leftover frail sticks in my inventory, taking out one of them. I had to finish it all in nine attacks; that was just how many of them I had left.

Dashing over Weapon and then,

But it was naïve of me to think that I could do anything to a level fourteen last boss of the raid with something like a frail stick,

I barely did any damage to the ultimate slime, but more importantly,

What am I supposed to do here? Looking around, there weren't any weapons lying on the ground, and there wasn't anything that could be used as a weapon either. I am fucked! Because I was distracted, I was hit by both slimes.

Looking at my health, I had less than ten thousand, meaning that if Weapon hit me again, I would die. But then, out of nowhere, Xanda burst out laughing, "No wonder everything looked so familiar! You are in the ruins of Zayden! The first prime human city that fell to the first true maou! And where the mausoleum of heroes lies!"
"I am not going anywhere until they are both dead," it was the blessings of pride and wrath speaking, or was it just me?
