Chapter 67 - The Warning

The air in the grand castle was thick, even after Varvatos' departure.

Guy sat back, wine swirling untouched in his goblet, his crimson eyes narrowed thoughtfully. Rain and Misery stood quietly by his side, still visibly shaken. It was rare, almost unnatural, for anything to faze them — and yet Varvatos had frozen them both with just a glance.

Guy tapped a clawed finger against the table, the rhythmic clicking echoing softly in the silent room.

Guy:

"Rain. Misery. Go get the Demon lords, I'm calling a WalpuLords,

The two maids instantly bowed and left the room without a word, still haunted by the residual pressure Varvatos left behind.

Guy leaned back in his throne-like chair, speaking to himself:

Guy:

"For him to move personally... It's bigger than anything we've faced so far..."

A slow grin crept up his face, but it wasn't one of excitement — it was grim, cold.

The grand halls of Pandemonium, Guy Crimson's castle, were lit with an eerie, crimson glow. The vast blackstone floor reflected the gathering of might: the Demon Lords had assembled.

Milim Nava, the Dragon Princess, floated in first, casual as always, her carefree attitude hiding her razor-sharp instincts.

Leon Cromwell, the Platinum Saber, followed with a regal grace, golden hair shining under the ominous light.

Draguel, sovereign of the Barren Land, arrived next, massive and imposing, his presence like an immovable mountain.

Alongside him, his companion Dino, the lazy Fallen Angel, drifted in with a wide yawn.

Luminous Valentine, the Lord of Ruberios, entered elegantly, dressed in her immaculate Gothic attire, her scarlet eyes sharp with curiosity.

Ramiris, the tiny but proud Fairy Queen, zipped about the room excitedly, even though she sensed the tension.

Frey, the Queen of the Harpies, descended gracefully, her wings folding behind her, eyes serious.

And Carrion, the proud Beast King of Eurazania, strong and vigilant, strode in with a dignified air.

Even Clayman attended, staying respectfully at the back.

As the last of them took their places around the obsidian round table, Guy Crimson rose from his throne at the head.

He let a long, deliberate silence fall over the room. Only the faint humming of magic energy could be heard.

Then he spoke, his voice calm but heavy with importance.

"I've called you all here because something... troubling has occurred."

The Demon Lords looked at each other. It wasn't often that Guy himself spoke with this much weight.

"Earlier... Varvatos paid me a personal visit."

The moment the name Varvatos left his lips, a ripple of murmuring broke through the room.

"Varvatos?" Milim blinked rapidly, tilting her head.

"Impossible..." Leon muttered under his breath.

Luminous narrowed her eyes, thoughtful.

Frey covered her mouth slightly with her fingers in shock.

Even Draguel's stoic demeanor cracked as his brows furrowed.

Dino's lazy posture shifted almost imperceptibly — now sitting upright.

Everyone here knew Varvatos: the ancient, reserved and overwhelmingly powerful entity who never left his fortress-city of Nyvaris unless it was truly earth-shattering.

If he had bothered to warn Guy Crimson in person... then something big was coming. Something that even the mighty Varvatos himself thought urgent.

The murmuring grew until Guy raised a hand — instantly, silence fell.

"He came to warn me... and now, by extension, all of us... about a looming danger threatening the Cardinal World."

All the Demon Lords' attention locked sharply onto Guy, their previous casualness gone, replaced by utter seriousness.

Milim floated lower, perching on the edge of her chair.

Leon steepled his fingers in front of him.

Draguel crossed his arms but said nothing, listening intently.

Luminous's red eyes gleamed slightly, catching nuances in Guy's tone.

"The warning concerns Feldway."

The room grew even colder.

Dino's head snapped up. His eyes, usually half-lidded with boredom, sharpened instantly at that name.

Guy continued:

"Varvatos didn't reveal much more. He said only this: the angels are moving. We should prepare ourselves... immediately."

The gravity in the room intensified. Even Ramiris, usually oblivious to seriousness, sat still, her tiny wings trembling slightly.

Guy's crimson gaze swept the table... and stopped at Dino.

A small, knowing smile touched Guy's lips.

"Dino... you should know more than you're letting on."

Every head in the room turned toward Dino.

The lazy angel grimaced, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

"Uh... well... heh... you see..." Dino chuckled weakly.

"Dino," Carrion growled lowly. "No more games."

"Spill it," Frey said, voice firm.

Even Clayman looked eager, sensing that the lazy angel had been sitting on dangerous knowledge.

Dino sighed heavily, all facade falling away.

"Fine, fine... I'll talk. No point hiding it now, huh?"

He leaned forward, expression deadly serious now — a look none of them were used to seeing from him.

"Feldway... is planning to revive Veldanava."

The room exploded into noise.

"WHAT?!" Milim shouted, knocking her chair back.

Leon's fists tightened, a frown etching deep into his perfect features.

Draguel's entire aura thickened, making the floor tremble slightly.

Luminous stood up, eyes wide with disbelief.

Ramiris' mouth opened and closed, too shocked to speak.

Guy simply watched, silent, letting the others process the sheer weight of that revelation.

Dino continued after a moment, the room quieting again:

"Feldway believes that reviving Veldanava will return the world to its 'perfect' state — a time when angels ruled supreme and the world was harmonious. Or so he says."

"In reality... he wants to use Veldanava's return to establish an eternal reign of angels over everything. Not just the Cardinal World — all worlds."

A thick, tense silence engulfed them.

"But reviving Veldanava..." Leon said slowly, "that's insane.

"Exactly," Dino nodded grimly. "Even Feldway doesn't have the full means.

Guy Crimson narrowed his crimson eyes. "Now, Dino," he pressed, voice steady but intense, "how exactly is Feldway planning to revive Veldanava? And why attack the Cardinal World for that?"

The room grew colder, the heavy air of Walpurgis thickening with tension.

For a few moments, silence reigned. Even the more restless Demon Lords like Milim and Carrion stayed quiet, waiting for Dino to answer.

Before Dino could open his mouth, Leon—leaned forward thoughtfully. "Perhaps..." leon mused aloud, "what Feldway needs to revive Veldanava... is hidden somewhere in the Cardinal World."

A low murmur spread among the gathered Demon Lords, voices rising in speculation.

Some furrowed their brows. Others whispered hurried theories to their neighbors.

Then, from the back, Frey—the Queen of the Harpies—spoke up sharply, cutting through the growing noise.

"Veldanava was a True Dragon," she reminded everyone, her wings folding tightly behind her.

"And as we know, there are still three True Dragons in existence... and Milim is his daughter. Could it be," she said, glancing at Milim, "that Feldway intends to use the True Dragons... and Milim herself... to bring Veldanava back?"

Instantly, all heads turned toward Milim.

The cheerful Dragon Princess blinked once, a bit confused, but then her mouth tightened into a rare, serious frown.

The room grew even more pensive. The idea was... disturbingly plausible.

Sitting back, Draguel, the sovereign of the Barren Lands, crossed his massive arms and spoke in his deep, rumbling voice.

"I remember," he said slowly, "long ago... Veldanava told me something. He said that every True Dragon possesses something called a Dragon Factor."

He tapped a clawed finger against the table for emphasis.

"A fragment of their being... that allows them to resurrect should they ever fall. It's what ties all True Dragons together across time."

The Demon Lords collectively stiffened.

Guy's eyes gleamed with realization, the pieces falling into place.

"So," he said darkly, voice low and deliberate, "Feldway's plan could be... to use the Dragon Factors. Extract them. Combine them. And through them... resurrect Veldanava."

Milim's fists tightened at her sides. Her aura flared for just a second before she reined it in.

"That's... that's crazy! But... if it's true..." she muttered under her breath, suddenly seeming very small for someone so powerful.

Carrion, the Beast King of Eurazania, growled under his breath, slamming a fist into his palm.

"But to do that... he would need to capture or kill True Dragons. Veldora, Velgrynd, and Velzard... and even Milim herself would be targets!"

"And if Feldway succeeds..." Leon Cromwell added grimly, "...it won't just be the Cardinal World that's doomed. The entire fabric of existence could be shaken."

The weight of that statement settled heavily over the entire council.

Even Guy's smile faded into a grim line.

He leaned back lazily in his chair, but there was nothing relaxed about his posture.

"Well, isn't that a fun little nightmare?" he said sarcastically.

Then he locked his gaze firmly onto Dino.

"Tell us everything you know. Now. No more hiding."

Dino scratched his head awkwardly, his wings drooping a little.

"Alright, alright..." he sighed. "Feldway... he's obsessed with Veldanava. Always has been. He sees Veldanava as the ultimate being... and believes that the world without him is flawed.

Broken. Feldway thinks that by reviving Veldanava, he can 'fix' the world... reset everything... bring paradise back."

"Paradise?" Frey scoffed. "Sounds like madness."

Dino gave a bitter smile.

"Yeah... it is madness. Feldway plans to use the angels, the Dragon Factors, and Milim's connection to Veldanava as the keys. He wants to recreate the original divine system under Veldanava's rule. Only..."

He hesitated, glancing at Milim, "...there's no guarantee that the Veldanava he brings back will be the same."

The implication hung there: what if Feldway succeeded... and revived something far worse?

Guy folded his hands under his chin, his expression razor-sharp.

"So that's it. We're not just dealing with Feldway's angels rampaging... we're racing against time to stop the resurrection of a god."

Draguel stood slowly, his massive frame towering.

"Then... we must prepare. We must protect the True Dragons... and Milim most of all. If Feldway takes even one of them... it could already be too late."

Milim, trying to act tough, punched her own palm with a loud smack.

"Don't worry! If Feldway wants a fight, he's gonna get one!" she said with a grin—though those closest could hear the slight quiver in her voice.

Luminous, cool and composed as ever, finally spoke, her ruby eyes gleaming.

"If Feldway is moving... then so must we.

The Cardinal World must not fall. Not to him. Not to anyone."
