Chapter 5 - The Gathering Storm

Themyscira's cliffs stood jagged against the twilight sky, waves crashing relentlessly against the ancient stone below. The salty wind whipped through Koki Sarive's dark hair as he stood shoulder to shoulder with Diana Prince, gazing toward the horizon where the sky bruised with the coming night.

"This place… it's like it's waiting for something," Koki said quietly, his glowing blue eyes reflecting the fading light.

Diana didn't answer right away. Her expression was grim, her posture taut like a bowstring ready to snap. After a long moment, she spoke, her voice low and steady.

"The gods are waking from their slumber, Koki. They have been watching, waiting for the right moment to reclaim their dominion. And that moment is close."

Koki swallowed hard, the weight of her words sinking in. He had trained for weeks under Diana's relentless tutelage and under the mystical guidance of Raven and Zatanna. Yet, nothing could prepare him for this—the realization that the very gods who once shaped the universe might soon march to war against everything he had come to care about.

"Why me?" Koki asked, his voice barely above a whisper. "Why was I chosen to stand against them? I'm not a god… just a kid from Houston."

Diana turned toward him, her glowing blue eyes fierce and compassionate all at once.

"You carry within you the spark of Infinity," she said. "A power born from hope and defiance. The gods fear what they cannot control—and that is you."

Before Koki could respond, the sky above the cliffs twisted. A ripple formed in the air, shimmering and warping reality like a tear in fabric. Slowly, a portal unfurled—shimmering like liquid glass, radiating ancient cosmic energy.

From the portal stepped figures—tall, imposing, clad in armor woven from starlight and shadow. Their eyes glowed with power older than time. The air around them vibrated with divine authority.

Koki's heart pounded so loud he feared it would give him away. Diana raised her spear, her stance poised for battle.

"They are coming for us," she said, voice like steel. "For you. For the spark that threatens to burn their dominion."

Koki swallowed, the emblem on his chest igniting with a soft golden glow. The Infinity within him stirred, a tempest waiting to break free.

The leader of the divine invaders stepped forward—a towering figure crowned with cosmic fire. His voice echoed like thunder.

"You trespass in realms reserved for gods. Your defiance ends here."

Diana's spear hummed as she tightened her grip. "Not while I stand."

Koki's muscles tensed. He was no longer just a boy from Texas. He was a warrior trained by legends, touched by gods, and burning with a power the universe itself had gifted him.

With a fierce cry, he surged forward, the energy of Infinity igniting his form. His hair shimmered white, eyes shooting radiant golden light. The panther emblem on his chest blazed with power.

The battle had begun.
