- The Next Day -
With all the chores done, Cain decided to work on a project he'd had in mind for a while.
"Whatcha doing?" Shushu's voice called from behind him.
She had checked on him after he'd been locked in his room all day and found him hunched over his desk, scribbling furiously.
Without looking up, he replied, "I'm working on some designs."
Curious, the blonde leaned over his shoulder, her eyes widening in surprise. "Are these new designs for our uniforms?"
"Yeah. Given everything that's happened and will happen, I thought it was time for an upgrade. What's better than demonic steel body armor?"
"But wouldn't that be hard to move in?" Shushu asked.
Even with their training using gravity seals, they still struggled to lift anything made from demonic steel.
"Indeed. That's why I plan to apply several seals to the plating to negate the weight," Cain explained, and Shushu sighed in relief.
Her expression quickly turned indignant. "Wait! Does that mean you could've made our weapons weightless this whole time?!"
"Yup," Cain confirmed.
"Then why didn't you do it?!" Shushu demanded, glaring at him.
A cheeky smile spread across Cain's lips. "Because carrying and using them is one helluva workout," he replied, not entirely lying. "It's also fun watching you guys fall on your asses."
Shushu's right eye twitched, her anger rising dangerously close to choking him out. But she took several deep breaths to calm herself.
"You're a fucking asshole," she said after regaining her composure.
Cain laughed. "Love you too."
Ignoring that, Shushu continued, "Seriously, what kind of boyfriend lets his three cute girlfriends suffer like that?!" She huffed, crossed her arms, and pouted.
"The fun kind," he shot back. "Ok...now...I'm...done!"
Shushu sighed, giving up on scolding him. "Can I see?"
"Sure," he said, moving aside for her to get a better look.
She examined Cain's finished designs and was impressed. They resembled their current uniforms but featured sleek armor plating and included a helmet with a T-shaped visor.
"These look really cool!" Shushu squealed. "When will they be ready?"
"In a few weeks, a month at most." Although disappointed by the wait, Shushu was excited about her new uniform. Cain yawned and stretched. "Well, since I'm done with that, I'm going out for a bit."
"Where are you going?"
"To the store. I need to get a few things for dinner."
"Can I come with?"
"Sure," he shrugged.
As they were about to leave, Cain's phone rang. He checked the caller ID and saw it was Aoba. He answered the call.
Before he could speak, Aoba frantically exclaimed, "Cain! I need your help! Someone's attacking us!!"
Cain's expression turned serious. "I'm on my way." He ended the call and texted Tenka. "Looks like there's a change of plans."
"What do you mean, and who was that?"
"It's the leader of the Hidden Village. They're under attack."
Shushu's brows furrowed. "Are you going by yourself?"
Cain nodded. "For the most part. I texted Tenka; she can get me there instantly."
He went to a closet and pulled out a fully armored bodysuit, quickly putting it on.
"Shouldn't we get the others?" Shushu asked.
"No," Cain shook his head. "This won't take long." A portal opened in his room, and Tenka emerged, wearing her ADC uniform. "Thanks for coming. Sorry to interrupt your shift."
Tenka waved off his apology with a smile. "Today was slow, so it's no bother. I know you wouldn't have texted me during work if it wasn't an emergency. What's going on?"
"The Hidden Village is under attack."
Tenka's expression turned serious. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go."

- Mato, Hidden Village -
A moment later, they stood before Aoba, Naon, and Koko, who looked worse for wear. Upon seeing Cain, the hybrids breathed a sigh of relief.
"Cain!!" the three exclaimed in unison and rushed to hug him.
"We're so glad you're here!" Aoba said.
Cain glanced at Tenka and shook his head. Although the older man didn't mind collaborating, he preferred working alone. He only made exceptions when he couldn't manage an issue himself or when a task required the collaboration of multiple people. This was a problem he could handle on his own.
"I'll take it from here. If you don't hear from me in fifteen minutes, come looking for me."
The blonde regarded him with concern but reluctantly nodded.
"Be safe." Tenka then vanished.
After Tenka left, Aoba explained the situation, revealing that Zero and her allies were behind the attack.
"So it's them," Cain sighed, shaking his head. "Can you still fight?"
They shook their heads.
"Wish we could, but they messed us up pretty badly," Aoba said, offering an apologetic smile.
"I understand." Cain frowned, noticing the absence of Yuuki, the other hybrids, and their pets. "Where's everyone else?"
"Yuuki went back to the human world yesterday for work, and the other hybrids managed to escape." Aoba's expression darkened as she revealed that Kidoumaru, Kumadouji, and Akura had betrayed them after their defeat.
Cain nodded, relieved that Yuuki and the others were safe, but he felt troubled by Kidoumaru, Kumadouji, and Akura's betrayal. He had somewhat liked Kumadouji and Akura.
At least he got to kill Kidoumaru.
A thought crossed his mind.
'I should bring his head to Kyoka as a gift,' Cain mused.
Since these three were out of commission, Cain faced a severe disadvantage, confronting six powerful enemies alone. Still, he wasn't overly worried. His goal was to kill Kidoumaru while keeping Zero-Two and her allies distracted long enough for Aoba, Koko, and Naon to escape.
If possible, he would have had Tenka teleport the three to the other hybrids. Unfortunately, he hadn't memorized the area's layout. If he had, he could have guided her, as her ability, Ame-No-Mitori, allowed her to teleport anywhere she could visualize.
If he had anticipated this attack, he would have thoroughly explored the area.
'Oh well, no use crying over spilled milk,' Cain thought, sighing inwardly.

Within the massive underground cave system, three individuals searched for a group of humanoid Shuuki: Shikoku, Jouryuu, and Zero Two.
"Those guys were pathetically weak," Zero Two grumbled. "I expected more of a fight."
"What did you expect? They're mere mortals; we're gods," Shikoku replied, amused. "It was obvious we would win easily."
Zero Two couldn't argue with her logic, but she craved a real challenge. Unfortunately, no one could provide that—except for her darling, whom she hadn't seen since their first encounter. She was eager for a rematch.
If Zero Two were honest, she wanted to fuck him more than fight him. Ever since their initial battle, she had been unbearably horny and had been masturbating nonstop. However, that hardly did anything for her, much to her frustration. If she didn't find her darling soon, she feared she would go on a rampage in search of him.
Minutes later, she let out an annoyed growl. "Ugh, where the fuck are those cowards? They can't have gotten far!"
The trio couldn't sense the hybrids, who had effectively hidden their signature. It was starting to piss the pink-haired woman off—well, even more than she already was.
"Patience, Zero," Shikoku chided playfully. "We'll find them eventually."
The hybrids had no chance of escaping; Shikoku had set a barrier preventing them from using their abilities. They had also collapsed most of the tunnels, leaving only one remaining, which is heavily guarded by a horde of Shuuki.
All the cards were in their favor, but their plans wouldn't unfold as smoothly as they hoped. They had no way of knowing that Aoba had called for the aid of Cain and Tenka. Both were immune to the barrier's effects due to their superior strength.
As the trio searched for the hybrids, Zero Two's mood shifted dramatically when she picked up a familiar scent. It was the man she had been dreaming about every night since they met, and she wanted to mate until they had an army of mini versions of themselves.
"He's here!" Zero Two let out a seductive purr before breaking into a fit of giggles.
Shikoku and Jouryuu exchanged perplexed glances.
"Who's here?" Shikoku asked.
"I am." They turned to see Cain, clad in full demonic steel armor, his helmet tucked under his arm.
Shikoku and Jouryuu narrowed their eyes, their bodies tensing, while Zero looked at Cain with hearts in her eyes.
"DARLING!" Zero Two impulsively ran toward him, ignoring her allies' calls to stop. When she got close, she lunged at him. To her surprise, Cain allowed her to latch on, which should have raised alarm bells in her head. However, she was too excited and especially horny to care. "Oh, I missed you so much!" She began rubbing her face against him.
Everyone watched her with varying expressions. Shikoku and Jouryuu looked on with confusion, annoyance, and anger, while Cain appeared amused. If Rairen had been there, he would have looked horrified.
'Too easy,' he thought. "It's good to see you too, Pinky." It wasn't a lie; despite Zero's yandere tendencies and previous attempts on his life, Cain held no grudge. He wrapped an arm around her waist, tilting her head to face him. "Let me show you how much I missed you," he said, his deep voice sending shivers through the women present.
Cain then pulled Zero into a toe-curling kiss. This action made her forget everything else, plunging her into a different reality. She let out soft moans into his mouth, wrapped her arms around his neck, and responded to his affection with overwhelming enthusiasm.
"Mmmm, darling!" She shamelessly rubbed against him, and as their makeout session continued, Zero became more aggressive, trying to dominate Cain.
However, she failed miserably, becoming the one dominated instead, surrendering completely to her darling—which she didn't mind at all.
While this was happening, Shikoku and Jouryuu watched in disbelief, their jaws dropping and eyes widening comically. They were completely speechless.
They had always known Zero was a bit unhinged—more so than they were—and obsessed with this man, but this exceeded their expectations. To see her throw caution to the wind, making out and shamelessly dry-humping the human male like a dog in front of them, was shocking. They weren't sure what was worse: Zero getting intimate with the enemy or their own unexpected arousal at the scene.
Shikoku and Jouryuu, engrossed in Cain dominating Zero, failed to notice him pull out a syringe until it was too late. He injected Zero in the neck, and within seconds, the pink-haired Shuuki was out cold.
Cain gently laid her on the ground, picked up his helmet, and put it on.
"I honestly didn't expect it to be that easy," he remarked, a mix of amusement and exasperation in his tone. He felt relieved to have removed his greatest obstacle.
Had he failed to incapacitate Zero, he knew he would have been in serious trouble. Thankfully, her obsession with him, coupled with her overwhelming arousal, had clouded her judgment.
Snapping back to reality, Shikoku and Jouryuu growled and glared furiously at Cain.
"What did you do to her?" Shikoku demanded.
"I injected her with a sedative strong enough to take down someone of her caliber. If I hadn't had it on me, I would've been screwed. Now, it's a fair fight."
"Are you sure about that?"
Aoba, Naon, and Koko's former mounts appeared at Shikoku and Jouryuu's sides, snarling at him.
Cain grinned behind his helmet. "Definitely."
The first to attack was Kidoumaru, who let out a thunderous roar and charged at Cain. The Latino immediately fired an explosive round into the Shuuki's head, sending it crashing to the ground but inflicting no significant harm.
Kumadouji and Akura charged at Cain, but the genetically modified man effortlessly evaded their strikes and counterattacked them by filling them with beams of light.
As Kumadouji swung at him, Cain ducked, seized his arm, and threw him toward the multi-limbed Shuuki. He sidestepped Kidoumaru's fist and retaliated by grabbing its wrist and snapping it like a twig, eliciting a roar of agony from the one-horned Shuuki.
Cain's handgun transformed into a knife, and in one swift motion, he decapitated Kidoumaru. He then dodged an arrow from Akura, closed the distance, and severed its head from its body. He repeated the same action with Kumadouji.
With all three defeated, Cain faced Shikoku and Jouryuu. The latter advanced while the former remained at a distance.
When the muscular humanoid Shuuki engaged him in close combat, she threw a fist at him. Cain evaded the attack and delivered a kick to Jouryuu's abdomen, sending her skittering backward.
He quickly leaped over, aiming a kick at her head. Although Jouryuu blocked this strike, she couldn't stop Cain's other foot from connecting with her face, sending a jolt of pain throughout her skull and leaving her momentarily stunned.
Cain aimed for her throat, but a snake wrapped around his wrist, yanking his arm back.
He twisted to the right to avoid an energy beam aimed at his torso. His knife transformed back into a handgun, and he fired several rounds at Shikoku. Reacting quickly, the purple-haired Shuuki created a barrier, deflecting the projectiles.
Noticing that the snake was connected to Shikoku's head, Cain yanked it down, causing her face to slam into the ground hard enough to create web-like cracks.
Cain pulled her forward and hurled her at Jouryuu, and they were sent crashing to the ground. He halted a paw from striking him and turned to see Kumadouji, still alive with most of his head regenerated.
"Looks like I'll have to cut you up a bit more, eh?" Cain said, amusement lacing his voice.
Moving faster than the bear-like Shuuki could react, Cain slashed in multiple directions. By the time he finished, Kumadouji had fallen, its remains scattering in thousands of tiny pieces.
The older man turned to see the women rising, both wearing furious expressions—especially Shikoku, whose face was twisted with rage.
"You're seriously pissing me off," Shikoku growled, glaring hatefully at him.
"It's a god-given talent," Cain replied cheekily, further infuriating her.
"Just die!"
She aimed her palms at him and rapidly fired constructs of darkness. Jouryuu prepared to face Cain head-on, this time with greater caution.
Cain easily dodged the projectiles but had to block an attack from the muscular female by crossing his arms. The impact sent him crashing into a wall.
Jouryuu leaped toward him, legs poised for a devastating kick. Unfortunately for her, Cain sidestepped just in time.
When Jouryuu hit the ground, the cave system shook violently, and chunks of earth began to fall.
"Careful there. You wouldn't want the cave collapsing on you and your friends, would you?" Cain mocked, earning a fierce glare from Jouryuu.
She quickly recovered and charged at him, grabbing a large chunk of rock and throwing it his way. With a single punch, he shattered it, then dodged Jouryuu's follow-up attack, landing a knee to her abdomen that made her grunt.
He grabbed her by the shoulder, pushed her back, and pointed his gun at her head. Before Cain could pull the trigger, Jouryuu seized the handgun by the barrel, ripped it from his grasp, and headbutted him, stunning him.
Jouryuu tossed Cain's gun aside, grabbed the genetically modified human by the throat, and slammed him to the ground. She pummeled his face for a few seconds until Cain caught her fist and kicked her in the crotch, causing her to gasp in pain and fall on top of him. He then rolled over, reversing their positions.
Before Cain could attack, he jumped back to evade several horizontal blasts of demonic energy. Once he landed, he rushed at Shikoku, who fired beams of demonic energy at him. Shikoku unleashed several powerful Shuuki from her deck of cards as Cain closed the distance.
"Kill him!" Shikoku commanded, and the Shuuki charged at Cain with thunderous roars.
Cain leaped onto one of the summoned Shuuki, drew another handgun, and shot it in the head multiple times, killing it. He jumped onto another Shuuki, aiming to repeat the process, but Jouryuu tackled him before he could react.
Upon hitting the ground, Cain grabbed Jouryuu by the horns and rammed his skull into her face, earning a grunt of pain from the Shuuki. He headbutted her again before pushing her off and getting up.
Before he could recover, another Shuuki tackled him, but Cain reversed their positions and mounted his opponent. He pulled out a knife and brutally stabbed it in the face until it stopped moving.
He leaned back to dodge one of the Shuuki's strikes, grabbed its arm, spun around, and hurled it at its ally, sending both creatures crashing to the ground.
As he continued to fend off the enemies, Cain received a call from Aoba and answered quickly.
"Are you guys out yet?" he asked, ducking under Jouryuu's kick.
He spun around and kicked the Shuuki in the solar plexus, sending it flying into its allies.
"Yeah, we're in a different section of the cave system now! Thanks for the help!"
"No problem." Cain ended the call and quickly messaged Tenka. "Well, it looks like our fun time is over, guys," he said in a mock sad tone. He leaped toward Zero, hoisted her over his shoulder, and grabbed Kidoumaru's head. A moment later, a portal appeared behind him. "Later!"
He jumped into it and vanished. It took a few seconds for everyone to process what had happened, but when they did, Shikoku screamed.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
End.
