"Kaiden!!" Her laughter broke through the reply she had been preparing. With her free hand against his forehead, she pushed his head away while he made another thoughtful sniff.
"Stop sniffing me!"
He was laughing too when she lowered her hand, letting this foolish man do as he pleased.
But instead of going for another sniff, Kaiden's expression softened. "I'm glad you chose me."
Yunohana looked at him. His pleasure was so plain that she felt a rush of affection through her embarrassment, followed by the rather overwhelming wish to say everything properly.
"And I am glad you opened your heart to this hopeless woman." Warm relief filled her chest as she said it.
"She's made me very happy today," Kaiden replied.
Yunohana's smile turned sly. Her free hand settled against his cheek, keeping him close enough for her voice to grow soft and sultry.
"Although you have made me aware of a rather troublesome predicament."
"Have I?"
