Chapter 5 - The Cycle Of Death and Life

[You Died]

The world lost its color as Noah lay dead on the ground, his body crumbling like burnt paper, the earth and sky became gray, while a clock appeared in the sky that stained its surroundings again with vibrant colors, its hands rotating slowly against its usual direction at first with the sound of its slow ticking, but soon the ticking accelerated, and the world regained its color as if it was back in time, until it stopped when its hands were aligned together.

As the dust dispersed, it gathered again to form Noah's body as if made of clay and he appeared in the same place he found himself, standing on his feet, aware of everything again as if nothing had happened.

"W-what just happened?" Noah's eyes widened in horror and confusion, he felt his throat dry and his stomach shrink, he looked at his chest where he had been stabbed earlier, he touched his body to make sure it was real, that it was real.

[You've opened a secret mission]

Noah slowly raised his head as soon as he heard the notification sound to see the screen in front of him

"Secret...Mission?", Noah whispered, his voice dry and sharp

"D-Die?", Noah whispered in horror, his lips twisted into an unintentionally sarcastic and confused smile

"i-is this another joke like the spoon one?" his heart raced, his chest and lungs tightened, his smile still stuck on his face from the tension as if his facial features were frozen, but he didn't have time to receive an answer, before another spirit bull appeared near him, in the same place he appeared from earlier, the same size, the same bloodthirsty eyes dripping with malice.

"T-this is no joke," Noah whispered with difficulty, as if fear had robbed him of his voice.

The bull sniffed the ground before lifting his head and noticing Noah standing there, their eyes met for a moment, Noah felt like he was looking into a deep abyss of fear, as if his soul was being taken away, saliva dripped from the bull's mouth, looking at his desperate prey in front of him, before pouncing on it.

Noah felt frozen in place, his expression crumpled and tears welled up in his eyes.

"I don't want to die—" his whisper came out as a sharp, desperate whistle, but it was too late as the bull's horns pierced his body, Noah vomited blood, and was thrown to the ground like bones.

Whether it was the fear of death or that his body was truly broken, his legs were twisted as if they had been broken, unable to move, looking only at the sky, his mouth dripping blood, his body pierced and bleeding until the green earth beneath him was colored a dark red, only the sound of the bull's snorting was what Noah could hear, and the feeling of its hot breath on his skin, sniffing him from his legs until he came close to his face.

Noah's voice got stuck in his throat and all that came out was a sharp mixed sound of his own exhalations and inhalations, the last thing he saw was a sick smile befitting a bull's face and dark eyes before it devoured his head, shattering his skull, only to experience the same feeling, opening his eyes again to find himself alive, on his feet, alive and kicking as if he hadn't died.

Noah's pupils shook, his eyes already looking tired and exhausted, he touched his face with his fingers, feeling his cheeks and pinching them, before he screamed in panic and terror, he fell to the ground and curled up, pulling his knees close to his chest as he screamed in terror, his tears dried on his cheeks, but once he felt hot breath near him, and raised his head to see the bull near him, looking at him from close range as if looking directly into his soul, his panic increased, Noah immediately jumped to the side as the bull moved, he was terrified, he jumped to the side as soon as the bull moved, Luckily he avoided a fatal stab, he stumbled in standing and running, all he heard was the sound of the bull running, the sound of the ground tearing under its heavy hooves, he turned back, only to pale more and sweat more, the distance between them did not decrease or increase, the bull toyed with him, waiting for him to tire so he could kill him in comfort.

But when he finally approached the towering tree, he used it as a shield between him and the bull. On the other side, he kept watching the bull's movements intently, fearing that he might slip and leave a gap, but it seemed safe for now, whenever the bull tried to turn around. Noah turned with it, keeping a distance between them, that is, until he took a step back, until Noah thought he was backing up, but he suddenly rushed towards the tree and slammed into it with all his might, making Noah jump back in panic and fall to the ground, without a tree between them, Noah was in a vulnerable situation.

He tried to stand up, but his arms and legs gave out, and he gasped in horror when he saw the bull pass the tree and walk towards him with slow steps, as if dragging death behind him.

"No!" Noah screamed in terror as he dug his fingers into the ground and began to drag his heavy body away.

"Stay away!"

To no avail, all he got was bloody fingers from pulling the ground and trying to escape, he turned to the bull, he was getting closer, just when he was getting closer to death, why does time have to pass so slowly, just to suffer more and feel every second of pain and agony.

Noah bit his teeth hard, still crying, but with all the strength he had left, he grabbed the dirt and started throwing it at the bull, but the breeze turned it into dust before it reached the bull and even touched it.

"Stay away! Get away! Go away! I Said Go away!", Noah cried out a sharp cry of pleading, his hands trembled with pain while his whole body shook with fear, the bull stood in front of him, hit by a lump of sand, the bull blew out his nostrils with a thick, snort-like sound, and shook his huge head nervously.

His expression darkened, All this just to snort him away?, His heartbeat accelerated unnaturally until his pulse became painful, with every step the bull took towards him, his breath quickened, tears flowed from his eyes, snot from his nose, and saliva from his mouth, and his eyes filled with tears, snot from his nose, and saliva from his mouth, until he heard a sharp whistling sound in his ears that silenced his mind, his heart stopped beating, his eyes twisted upward and turned pale, and he fell sprawled dead of fear.

Noah opened his eyes to find himself again, in the same place, alive, in this repeated cycle of resurrection and death, he was helpless.

[Mission: Die (10/3) (incomplete)]

The feeling was still clear to Noah, the pain was real, present with each cycle, the feeling of his dried tears on his cheeks, his nose still running, the feeling of the previous stab wounds in his chest still present, his body writhing in pain, but at the same time, the pain was unnoticeable, as if The same feeling is similar to when the cold wind slaps your face for the first time, but over time the pinching feeling disappears until it is barely noticeable, maybe Noah was coping, living with the pain, adapting to death, but no matter what you are, living with fear in one body was impossible.

The bull reappeared, and Noah's body stiffened again, but the Tension was lighter, Noah took a step back this time, a small change he hoped would be effective, dragging his feet slowly until he heard the breeze stirring the grass, bulls' psychic senses are weak, only their sense of sight is normal, so as long as Noah is far away and not drawing attention towards him, the bull won't smell or hear him.

But this is just wishful thinking, and wishes have no place in reality, the bull slowly raised his head and noticed Noah moving away, as soon as Noah heard the nervous snorting sound, he knew the bull had noticed him and considered him prey, he froze in place watching the bull, this time, a safe distance between them, so there is room for Noah to escape, the bull kept staring at Noah, looking directly into his eyes, while Noah looked down at his feet trying to avoid his challenge by looking directly into his eyes like any other bull in the wild, the bull looked down at his feet and tried to avoid his challenge by looking directly into his eyes.

"I don't want to die...I don't want to die....please...please...look away...look away...just look away....for one second...please...", Noah thought to himself closing his eyes begging to himself, just a few hours ago he was saying he couldn't beg the gods, and now here he was going back to them, oblivious as an idiot.

The bull turned away, munching away at the grass with his back to Noah, Noah sighed in relief and his stiff shoulders relaxed a little.

"Finally... I have a second to catch my breath... I have to gather my thoughts and think of a solution... Think, Noah! Think! What should I do? I can't die, I can't! I'm afraid to die...I don't care if I come back every time, I don't want to die...I have to kill 50 bulls like this if I don't want to die....Think...Bulls' senses are weak. I can take advantage of that...if I attack him from behind...attack him...but...with what...I have nothing..." Noah thought to himself as panic overcame his mind, that's when he remembered the towering tree and turned toward it

"A stake...a stake will do, right? If I uproot a big enough stake..." Noah had already started moving, his hopeful mind forgetting his caution, his hasty footsteps made a thumping sound in the grass, when the bull turned towards him, his sharp gaze was enough to make Noah freeze in place without looking at him.

The bull turned around with his whole body, and began to approach Noah with seemingly quick steps.

"No! No! No! No! No! No! Shit! Don't come closer!", Noah thought to himself, that's when he decided to risk everything, he clicked his tongue and ran towards the tree, as soon as the bull's eyes caught Noah's quick movement, the chase began.

The speed difference between them was enormous, until the bull almost reached Noah, but the boy reached the tree faster, noticing the bull rushing towards him, he grabbed a node from the tree and peeled it until he broke a long, sharp wooden stake from it and stood there, holding the stake firmly, using it like a sword.

The bull stopped as soon as he approached Noah, letting out a sharp snort, but his eyes were burning with hatred, Noah pointed the sharp top of the stake at the bull, swinging it and stabbing the air to try to scare the beast, and with each wave he succeeded, the bull tilted and took a step back to avoid the stabs.

"I have to kill him...scaring him isn't enough..." Noah thought to himself as he kicked the ground, spreading the dirt, and luckily it hit the bull in the eye, blinding him.

The bull was furious and agitated, and began to shake and twitch while shaking his head and butting everything in front of him trying to defend himself, that's when Noah grabbed the stake with both hands, moved to the side in a blind spot, to the bull's right side, and stabbed with everything he had into the bull's cheeks until he pierced them, the stake pierced the bull's mouth from the left cheek until the right cheek was pierced, leaving a sharp roar of pain. He let out a sharp roar of pain like a scream and cry, he bled from his cheeks and blood from his mouth, still shaking, stomping the ground under him and crushing the air, shaking his head violently, then Noah pulled the stake, and stabbed the bull again, but from his throat until it went up and hit his brain, the bull fell straight to the ground, only to shake violently and die a few seconds later.

Noah's rapid breathing calmed down a bit, he wiped the sweat on his forehead, and swallowed the saliva that filled his mouth with difficulty until he felt its hardness in his throat, before he turned to the stretched dead bull, Noah grabbed the edge of the stake, and with difficulty he pulled it out, he looked at its edge to see pieces of flesh and brain in it, sticking to it, then he dropped it on the ground and vomited violently.

Noah wiped the saliva from his mouth and turned to the bull's corpse again, breathing hard... "I killed a monster, Yahoo..." he said tiredly, trying to feel excited or proud but all he could feel was numbness in his muscles and disgust.

"I...killed a Monster...yahoo...," Noah said tiredly, trying to feel excited or proud but all he could feel was numbness in his muscles and disgust in his stomach.

At that point, he stood up straight, stretched out his cramped hands, and slapped his face to focus

"Focus...there's still a long way to go..."
