"Name: Amora
Known Alias: Amora the Enchantress
Classification: Asgardian entity, variable threat level, high mystical capability
General Description:
Amora is a practitioner of mystical arts originating from Asgard. Her main ability is based on manipulating arcane energy for offensive, defensive, and mental control purposes. Her power level far exceeds the human standard and falls within the expected range for elite Asgardian sorcerers.
Personality and Psychological Profile:
She displays high intelligence, a calculating disposition, and a tendency to manipulate others to achieve her goals. She shows limited attachment to rules or authority, and her primary motivation revolves around obtaining power and influence. She may cooperate temporarily if the situation aligns with her interests. She exhibits narcissistic traits and a strong need for validation.
Current Threat Level: Low to moderate.
Although her ability to manipulate minds and her lack of stable loyalties make her unpredictable, high command across the Nine Realms, including Midgard, undergoes regular identity verification to ensure they have not been replaced, controlled, or similar. King Thor previously confirmed that these methods work against the target's magic. Even so, constant vigilance is recommended, avoid direct contact without magical protection, and coordinate with specialists in arcane energies for any possible appearance.
Current Situation:
Four days ago she escaped from Asgard's prison and, seven hours later, entered Earth. Since then she has been moving regularly without stopping, her pattern suggests she is heading toward China or nearby regions."
"Is that all?"
"There is detailed information about her powers, abilities, and all her recent movements. It has already been sent to your device", the agent replied.
Harley nodded and reviewed the more complete information on his tablet.
"Do we know why she is heading to China?" he asked as he read.
"We believe she might be looking for something. China is known for its abundance of mythology and history, so much that the line between them is hard to draw. We think something from those myths might be real and Amora is searching for it."
"So we do not know", Harley concluded.
"I want to request a mid level combat team, specialized in magical and mental defenses."
"I will process the request immediately. What about offensive capability?"
"Trained human offense plus weapons should be enough. Have them go directly to Hong Kong as soon as they are cleared."
---
The next day Harley was already in Hong Kong.
His reason for going there was clear: Hong Kong is one of the places most mentioned in Chinese mythology, a city that has always carried so many stories that for centuries people doubted they were only myths.
The continued appearance of rumors even in the digital age only increased its mysticism, and although the exact reason was not known before, now it was. And that same reason was the second motive for Harley traveling there.
Hong Kong houses one of the three Kamar Taj sanctums which, together, form a shield that protects Earth from dimensional threats. If the situation with Amora got out of control, Harley planned to request help there, not as a direct dependency but as reinforcement in case of emergency.
When he arrived, the sight surprised him. The building had a strange atmosphere, an ancient design that still blended in without drawing attention among the modern structures around it. It gave him the same feeling as the New York sanctum.
Just as he raised his hand to knock, the door swung open and a man stepped out, almost crashing into him.
But neither of their reflexes was normal, Harley dodged smoothly without looking exaggerated, while the man in front of him stopped instantly as if acceleration did not exist.
"SHIELD. What are you doing here?", the man asked when he recognized the logo on Harley's chest.
But Harley was far more shocked by the person standing in front of him.
"Stephen Strange...", he murmured. Then he regained his composure. "I came to request help with something."
Strange did not stay to talk. He lifted his cape with an elegant gesture and jumped into the air to fly away.
"I am sorry, I am busy. Talk to Wong", he said as he disappeared into the sky.
"My apologies. Strange is dealing with something important and is occupied. May I ask what you need?", another person intervened.
Harley looked at the man approaching, analyzing him silently.
Not only the Sorcerer Supreme… but also Wong, his right hand and librarian. If both were here, something serious was happening.
He did not let any of that show on his face and responded with a controlled smile.
"I would like to request help with something. Can we sit?"
"Of course, this way", Wong said, guiding him into a reception room with an old fashioned but well maintained style.
"Although I came for something else… I would like to know what is happening, if possible."
Wong sighed with resignation before answering:
"Very well. SHIELD will find out soon anyway. Dormammu is attacking the Hong Kong sanctum."
A normal person would not have understood, but Harley had already researched everything about Hong Kong before coming, which inevitably led him to research Kamar Taj as well. Although his clearance did not allow access to deep information, he did understand the basics.
"Is that not pretty useless?"
If an extradimensional demon could destroy the shield pillars from the outside, the system would make no sense. The usual method for extradimensional demons trying to enter was always corrupting humans from within and forcing them to destroy the sanctums. But even that almost never worked, the protections were immense, the Sorcerer Supreme watched over everything, and if one temple fell, the other two maintained the defense while recovery systems rebuilt everything in seconds.
With the importance of the sanctums and the danger of destroying one, Kamar Taj had several contingency plans, from spells designed only to repair the sanctum or temporarily replace the shield pillar, to secondary minor sanctums capable of taking the main sanctum's place for a while, among many others.
The only real way to destroy the shield would be for someone stronger than the Sorcerer Supreme to destroy all three temples at the same time and disable all contingency plans, or for the Sorcerer Supreme himself to allow them to be destroyed, which would imply even more unsettling reasons likely related to the loss of the extradimensional demon.
While Harley analyzed all this, Wong responded:
"In reality, powerful extradimensional demons can break the barrier."
Seeing his surprise, he quickly clarified:
"But it is not useful. Even if they manage to break the shield, they would only open a tiny fissure, and they would need to concentrate an enormous amount of power. They cannot enter through it, they can only connect their dark dimension for an instant. The shield repairs itself."
"It sounds pretty useless", Harley said.
"And that is why it is so suspicious", Wong replied, thoughtful.
"...Alright. Those are matters of Kamar Taj. What did you come to ask, young one?"
At the question, Harley set his thoughts aside, though he would report everything to SHIELD as soon as he left the sanctum, and explained the situation with Amora.
