"Daichi~"

Ah.

Hey, I know that voice, don't I?

-boing!-

Something soft even leaned against my shoulder.

Oppai, I see.

It was good, but it was the clothes that made it more tantalizing. And beyond that, it was actually the thighs that drew my eyes.

And as I glanced sideways, a head of blue hair filled my sight.

---It was Kalawarna, or Kalawarner, however you say it.

Kalawarna walked beside me, practically pressed up against my arm as if she'd never heard of the concept of personal space.

She still had her long blue hair that flowed down her back and covered one eye, and she was dressed in one of those OL suits that really made one think of lewd activities.

'Like a sexy secretary...'

On my other side walked another familiar Fallen Angel, but this one wore BDSM-like clothing.

---Raynare.

And Raynare was currently wearing the expression of somebody standing beside a tiger that had previously used her as a chew toy.

"It's been a while." Kalawarna said.

"Has it now?" I replied lackadaisically.

"It has." Kalawarna leaned slightly heavier against me.

"You've gotten even more handsome since I last saw you." She said bluntly.

"Being handsome is a burden." I sighed.

Raynare's eyebrow twitched, and after seeing this, Kalawarna snorted.

I then looked at Raynare, and she flinched.

"...Hello, D-Daichi-san."

"Raynare." I nodded. "You're looking well."

"T-Thank you." Raynare gave an awkward smile.

"Heh." Kalawarna snorted. "Why are you acting like a shy virgin, Raynare?"

Raynare didn't respond, but leveled a glare at her instead.

I couldn't blame her for being uncomfortable. I mean, our previous encounter hadn't exactly been a shining moment in her life as a Fallen after all.

"So."

I looked between them.

"Azazel sent you?"

Kalawarna finally stopped hanging off my shoulder enough to walk normally.

"Yes."

Her tone became more serious.

"Kokabiel-sama has been acting strangely lately."

No kidding? You don't say.

To be honest, seeing the difference in personality in Kokabiel in DxD vs Slash Dogs, saying that the old feather-face was acting strange was an understatement.

"We haven't been given every detail." Kalawarna said. "But Azazel-sama noticed movement among Fallen who aren't normally active, and Kokabiel-sama's name keeps appearing."

"We were sent here to observe." Raynare nodded.

"And make sure nothing crazy happens involving Fallen Angels." Kalawarna added.

"Heh." I snorted, causing Raynare to jump.

"W-What?!"

"Nothing." I waved dismissively.

---Making sure that nothing crazy happens involving Fallen Angels.

In Kuoh.

The city where Fallen Angels, Devils, Angels, Exorcists stray or not, and Sacred Gear users and whatever the hell category I belonged to kept running into each other.

"Not happening." I sighed.

Kalawarna narrowed her eyes as she snuck closer.

"You know something." She said.

"Yeees." I drawled.

"About Kokabiel."

"Yeees."

"Daichi."

"Kalawarna."

She stared at me with those serious eyes of hers as I smiled and stared back.

I had my suspicions of things going a bit off course, but I had no reason to share them.

---Besides, who was going to stop from not sharing?

"Serafall was pretty pissed when she found out that Fallen were strolling around Kuoh, y'know?"

Kalawarna and Raynare froze after they heard my little half-truth.

I froze too, but rather than thoughts of a yuri sis-con Leviathan's wrath. I was analyzing the two Fallen before me.

Information entered my eyes and seeped through my brain like I was some sort of... Mentalist.

It was the combination of my modified nervous system, enhanced brain processing, modified to a supernatural level thanks to specialized training and [Body Modification].

All of that Information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information, information!

I read it all!

I looked at Kalawarna and saw her relaxed shoulders, the comfortable proximity she had to me, her natural weight distribution, suggesting normality; no particular tremor in her muscles or tone when mentioning her mission or Azazel, her stable pupils, the regular breaths she took, a hint of minor amusement hidden in her voice, and unabashed flirtiness.

Or at least, what she thought was flirting.

Raynare, on the other hand...

She had a smile approximately twenty percent too wide, fifty percent fake, forcefully squinting the eyes to make a 'genuine' smile so much that if I thought she was a jade beauty from the Dragon Kingdom who didn't know whether to laugh or cry, her stiff posture, eyes repeatedly moving toward Kalawarna whenever Kokabiel was mentioned, a subtle yet labored breathing cycle, and barely, and I mean barely, restrained terror.

Interesting.

My mind began processing everything simultaneously.

It was a mix of observation, cold reading, microexpressions, muscle tension, voice patterns, magic fluctuations, previous behavior, and known motivations.

Then I compared it against another database.

My meta-knowledge.

The Raynare I remembered from High School DxD was ambitious, cruel when she had power over someone, willing to manipulate people, and desperate for recognition from those above her.

Especially Azazel.

Things like power, status, and the matter of being acknowledged were important to her.

And then I compared it to the personality profile against the woman standing beside me.

Yeah, I should keep an eye on her.

Raynare noticed me staring.

"...What?"

"Nothing." I shrugged.

This idiot probably would end up getting recruited by Kokabiel.

Her face became suspicious as she saw me gave her a pitying gaze like she were an idiot.

"Why do you keep saying nothing like that?"

"Like what?"

"Like you know something!"

"Maybe your conscience is guilty."

"It isn't." She forced herself to say coolly.

Kalawarna's gaze lingered on Raynare.

I patted Kalawarna lightly on the shoulder.

"Thanks for the information."

"That's it?"

"For now."

I resumed walking.

And as I walked on, I could hear Kalwarna asking Raynare if she did something stupid.

-

-A Few Minutes Later-

-Kuoh Park-

Several minutes later, I reached the park and immediately stopped.

"..."

Huh.

-glance-

I looked left.

Nothing.

-glance-

I look right.

Still nothing.

"How confusing... Isn't this where it all went down?" I shrugged. "What is this, Pulp Fiction? Where the hell was everybody?"

[Nobody's here, host.]

Rias, Sona, and their peerages?

Gone.

And then I saw his face.

[Except a Stray Human Exorcist.]

A boy?, about five foot five, maybe shorter, with medium length white hair dressed in white garbs under a black robe with green and gold highlights and cuffs.

---Freed Sellzen.

He had this kind of grin that immediately told you this man's internal monologue probably had police sirens playing in the background.

[Those Greek soldiers would've had their way with him, host.]

'Why is that a thought in your head, Ast?'

"Hahahaha! What's this?!" Freed spread his arms dramatically. "An innocent civilian walking these roads? Hahaha! Do you want to die?!"

"Wait..." Freed squinted at me and I squinted back.

He sniffed at the air, and I sniffed as well.

He then tilted his head as I tilted mine as well.

"What the fuck are you?"

"Just a passing by Human."

"...Bullshit."

"Not so."

"Bullshit!"

"Is not."

"Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit!"

"Nuh uh."

"Bullshit! Hahaha! It's bullshit!"

This guy is cuckoo-for-cocoa puffs.

But he was still wrong to say that, I'm as Human as ever, of course.

"Anyways, forget that!" Freed giggled. "You're here, and you look funny, so it's fine to kill you! Right, right! Murder first, questions never!"

"Are you sure?" I asked as I pointed at Freed. "Before we start..."

-voooom!-

Red and blue swirling horns made of energy appeared on my head as I held my hand out, bringing forth a burst of dark colored mass that formed a spear.

"Let me say that I am fairly strong[1]."

-clang!-

"Wonderful! So cool! I love it! It's just like my Japanese Tokusatsu! I hate cool guys, can you die?" Freed grinned as he made a mad dash, swinging his Demon Sword at my head.

-baaam!-

I blocked it directly with the spear I made, and with a twirl, I sent him flying back a couple of feet[2].

[This one has a poor mentality for his strength. He seems to have some sort of mental deviation.]

Asterion spoke suddenly.'

You mean being crazy?'

[Yes, and the same is of the Priest behind the madman.]

'The priest?'

"Freed."

In walked in a creepy old man white grey white hair wearing priest garbs.

Enter evil-former-priest whatever, though you do have to admit that his Ugly Bastard potential was quite high.

---Valper Galilei

Valper stared directly at me.

"Do not damage him more than necessary." Valper said. "He... seems special."

Freed's smile widened.

"No promises! I might kill him! But I'll try, okay?" Freed then unleashed his Excalibur.

---Holy Sword, and one of the seven [Excalibur] fragments: [Excalibur Rapidly]

For a weapon based in English history and mythology, it was shaped like a long Javanese weapon called Kris, likely to be used alongside the martial art Pencak Silat, and the blade appears wide with a diamond-shaped gap through it and spikes on both edges.

"Hahaha! Witness my [Excalibur]! Fear my wrath and die, die, die, die!"

"Freed, I said keep him alive." Valper said.

"Thanks for the thought." I said.

Honestly, I could've used [Hypnosis] to have Freed off himself, but I'm not one to refuse a fight, plus I figured I needed the exercise.

"Oh! My bad! Hahaha!"

[Excalibur Rapidly] gave Freed some real fast speed, enough that when he moved there were afterimages of him popping around.

Not just that, but it seemed to make him even more flexible, helping him show off his erratic, unpredictable swordsmanship.

-clang!-

His blade crashed against my spear, and when I flicked my wrist, to slash at him lazily, he slipped away like a snake.

Not that it mattered when it came to my enhanced senses thanks to [Body Manipulation].

"!!!"

-thrust!-

I thrust repeatedly with my spear, nicking Freed with small wounds each time.

"Tch! How annoying!" Freed clicked his tongue, as with each swing he got even faster.

All of his unpredictability was simply 'moves'.

-clash!-

Moves that fit with each other become 'patterns'.

-clash!-

And patterns become predictable 'methods'.

My spear crashed against [Excalibur Rapidly] and burst apart, but as Freed's expression grew even more smug, it quickly reformed.

"Huh!? It's back again? Not bad! I hate it! Don't die too easy!"

Dark-colored energy twisted around the spearhead, rotating faster and faster until it resembled a miniature vortex.

"Here we go~!" Freed's grin stretched wider.

Freed swung [Excalibur Rapidy].

---Rapidly.

-clang, clang, clang!-

Left, right, above, below, below, above, to the side, right, left, slashes came from all sides as I deflected the strikes.

I swung my spear at Freed's feet, sweeping him off the ground. However, Freed spun rapidly in the air as his blade came toward my shoulder.

-clash!-

The blade of my spear met his, neutralized his momentum, and repelled him as he crashed into the dirt.

"Koff! Koff! Gahdamnit!" Freed hopped back up again. "So cool, so strong! But you're not going all out!"

But even then, he was covered with bruises, wounds, and nicks as Freed breathed roughly, clearly excited by being able to swing his new toy around.

"Don't worry! I'll make you fight at full power now!"

[His mind is as peculiar as his swordsmanship, host.]

Asterios's voice echoed through my mind.

'Yup.' I thought. 'So this is what the Excalibur Fragments can do...'

[He fights wilder than the blond swordsman servant in your woman's peerage, host.]

'Yes, he does.' I didn't bother responding to the other part after he mentioned Yuuto.

Nothing was official, after all.

[But a wilder, unpredictable fighting style is nothing compared to---]

'Someone who can see through it all.'

[Exactly, host.]

"Gogogogogogo---!" Freed rushed forward laughing madly.

Unfortunately for Freed, enhanced speed and unpredictability weren't the same thing as unbeatable.

Not to mention the innate difference in length of my spear and his sword, no matter how wildly he swung that thing, it couldn't compete with the length of my spear.

It's like poetry--- no, boxing.

So wherever he went, my spear followed, biting him and piercing him every time he moved.

"Shit, shit, shiiit---!" Freed cursed. "Why can't I hit youuuuuu---!?"

"Shall I come closer, or let you get closer?" I asked.

"Yes please!" Freed shouted. "To both!"

"Okay."

Freed swung again, but I intercepted his strike, stepped into his flank, and slammed the spear sideways into [Excalibur Rapidly].

"Shit--!"

-clang!-

The Holy Sword was ripped from Freed's hand, and for a brief moment, his eyes followed it.

"Big mistake, Freed." I wagged my finger as I dispelled my spear. "Lucky for you, I don't know how to violate you yet, so I'll let you live for now..."

-vanish!-

"Nothing personal, is what I would say if you weren't a menace to society." In a blink of an eye, I vanished from his sight and reappeared behind him. "I'll collect your DNA after you join the Khaos Brigade, if you survive."

-clench!-

My hand then caught the back of his head firmly.

"Remember when I said I was fairly strong?"

"Huh?"

"This is going to hurt. A lot."

-booom!-

Without any more fanfare, I slammed Freed headfirst into the ground.

Dust flew into the air and the ground cracked beneath him as Freed's body bounced once before landing on the floor.

"Huh."

I nudged him with my sneaker.

Unconscious, if not floating in dreamland.

Good. There was no need to kill him just as yet.

I had to figure out what to do to him.

I then looked at Valper Galilei who stood several meters away.

For the first time since we'd met, the old man's clinically cold, yet amused expression had cracked.

His eyes seemed to be examining me entirely, as if trying to figure out what kind of secret my existence contained.

"You... You are an anomaly..."

Valper muttered as I stepped over Freed.

There was no reason to restrain him, if he got up and ran, I can always chase him down.

I could even use [Time Stop] if I so choose.

"You were interested in what kind of Human I am, right?"

Valper remained silent as I cracked my neck.

"You're a real bad guy, and I plan on handing you over to my Devil pals..." I said. "But before that..."

"We have a lot to talk about. No seriously. As a budding scientist, I just wanna break open that head like a coconut and drink up all those secrets inside."

"Hohoho, you seem to be a little odd yourself."

"Am I?" I scratched my head before I used my trusty abilities.

[Hypnosis]

"Well, Oji-san. This odd fella wants to ask you a few questions. So answer when asked, okay?"

Trivia Time! (Againx55!!)

Did you know(ofc)

You all know who Freed's Seiyuu, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka is. The dude is the Daniel Radcliffe(Harry Potter) of Japanese Voice Acting. Ever since he did Kirito(SAO) and blew up, he does any kind of roles for the fun of it.(Yaoi too)

Just like Yuki Kaji(Eren), we'll be here all day if we try to list his roles, so I'll just list a few of the mainstream ones.

Godo Kusanagi (Campione!) I'm not old at all. You are. Decent show. Ok Mc.

Izumi Miyamura (Horimiya 2012) He was busy, so Kouki Uchiyama(Inumaki) voices the 2021 version

Sorata Kanda (Sakurasou) I remember this anime being bright asf. Also I luv autistic grills.

Sora (No Game No Life) How about No Season 2 None For You?

Arata Kusaga (Trinity Seven) A last of his kind. I love the band ZAQ that does the opening. They did the openings for his COTE too! real bangers I tell ya

Lubbock (Akame Ga Kill!) Respect Game. Same author as Chained Solder/ Mato Sehai no Slave. Fairy Tail fans and Akame Ga Kill fans used to be at war in the internet communities and forums I lurked back in 2014. Arguing about which one was more mature, powerlisting, VS Battles...

Tomoya Aki (Saekano) They do you dirty on fanfic websites, dude... Nobody likes you. Not on english fanfic sites, Russian, or even Chinese(they're too busy worshiping Utaha's 'goddess legs'.)[3]

Tor Kokonoe (Absolute Duo) Absolute Banger OP song for an ok anime

Soma Yukihara (Food Wars) Food so good ambatuk---My next fic(years later) might have a chef MC

Bell Cranel (Danmachi) Ever watched an anime, and wished it was a proper AAA game, and not that cheap browser/bandai namco shovelware? This is my pick right after Fairy Tail

Raian Kure (Kengan) I love this edgelord. I see his beautiful smile all the time in powerscaling posts online.

That being said, if you go on reddit, the readers of the current Kengan manga roast it almost as much as Lookism readers roast the author and the plot of current Lookism!

Beetleguese Romani-Conti (Re-Zero) Oh yeah, I'm feelin' the love, alright.

Futaro Uesugi (Quintuplets) You know how I feel about these types of Harem anime. If it isn't a harem ending, then I'm sure my fav won't be picked.

Kanata (Sky Wizards Academy) ...
