Chapter 20 - Gravity Tornado Ascending

At full power, Gravity Tornado could probably lift the entire mountain he was inside. In the original work, SpaceGodzilla could use this move to toss tens of thousands of tons of Heisei Era g around like toys. Now, all that force was concentrated into his claw and pressed onto a chain thinner than his finger.

A result he had never seen before finally appeared. The chain actually began to tremble, as if vibrating, and the material itself seemed unstable. He pushed harder, continuously compressing the range where Gravity Tornado acted.

The terrifying evolution ability of g cells manifested. His output limit rose bit by bit as he exerted himself, while the affected area shrank smaller and smaller. The surrounding air twisted, space rippled like water, and faint wailing sounds could be heard.

Under the ever increasing gravity, the trembling spread through all the chains, causing them to shake together. Gravity compressed to an extreme and focused on a single point seemed to touch something unseen. The chain flickered in his claw as if skipping frames.

Sensing this, Belial poured in even more energy and kept pushing Gravity Tornado further. The intensely compressed gravity gathered at a tiny point on the chain, and everyone knew what happened when gravity grew too strong at a single point. He could not create that thing yet, but this was enough.

With a soft crack, the black chains finally shattered like foam, all of them collapsing at once. Belial barely had time to feel joy at his success. The moment the restraint vanished, an ice element torrent accumulated over countless years burst out and froze him instantly.

A thick layer of ice covered his body, and the cavern that had just been scorched by Spiral Heat Ray turned back into a frozen cave. The massive surge of ice element broke through the mountain and formed huge crystals on its surface, rapidly lowering the temperature outside. Power radiated from the mountain's core, forming a ring shaped ice storm that spread across the endless snowfields.

The fragment shone even more brightly than before, pulsing as if alive. Drawn by some force, it shot toward a distant direction. With a sharp crack, a crystal covered Space Claw infused with powerful Magic burst out of the ice and grabbed the fragment mid flight.

The frozen giant figure radiated a terrifying light, shattering the ice into pieces and sublimating it again. The massive black form emerged, and Belial stared at the fragment in his hand. It nearly froze his palm numb, but it was firmly bound by Energy Field and Gravity Tornado.

Before long, a thin layer of frost spread from his hand up his arm and toward his body. He immediately activated Space Claw, and a series of explosions melted the frost. At the same time, even stronger gravity locked the fragment in place.

A ferocious smile appeared on Belial's face, his eyes filled with draconic greed. He said there was no way he would let it escape after all that effort. Gray white crystals grew from the ground around him, spreading outward to strengthen his Energy Field and continuously siphon the fragment's Magic.

The fragment trembled and released even colder frost, pouring through the gaps in his scales and into his body. Even g cells felt the chill, especially in the hand holding it, which had gone completely numb as ice elements flooded in. At the same time, his internal ice crystallization organ greedily absorbed this energy as nourishment.

The energy was also conducted outward by Energy Field and shared with the surrounding crystals, which were soon coated in frost. Belial still did not loosen his grip and instead increased the pull, drawing harder. The fragment's light dimmed rapidly as it struggled, even creating a massive blizzard inside the cave.

Within the storm, a vague shape seemed about to step out. Before it could, Belial stuffed the fragment into his mouth and swallowed it in one swift motion. It slid down his throat and entered his furnace like stomach, and the forming shape dispersed.

Swallowing something this dangerous looked reckless, as if his organs might freeze into shards. Belial was confident, trusting the absurd recovery speed of g cells. Cold was hardly a concern to SpaceGodzilla.

His stomach was terrifying as well, able to digest even soil and stone without issue. Once inside, he sealed it in with Energy Field and suppressed the fragment's power completely. Inside his body, this advantage was even greater than outside.

The fragment flailed around in his stomach, likely freezing the tissue beyond repair. That did not matter, since it could regrow later. Nuclear Reactor pumped out scorching energy nonstop, rapidly raising his internal temperature as every cell drank in the fragment's power.

If the fragment had been at full strength, this might have been dangerous. Now it was weakened after being drained, battered by Godzilla, and suppressed by multiple abilities. Surrounded by g cells and heated by Nuclear Reactor, the ice fragment finally melted away.

Belial curled his massive body into a tight ball, folded his wings over himself, and closed his eyes. A thin layer of ice spread over his surface at a visible pace. Cold poured out from his body without restraint, and pale mist rose into the air around him.

With his body as the center, freezing air kept spilling outward. The opened Energy Field and the spreading crystal growth guided the icy power venting inside him to the outside. Inside his body, crystal organs continued to multiply and develop, eating and releasing at the same time to maintain a balance.

Inside the battlefield of his body, the situation was already fully in his favor. Any ordinary creature would have died long ago from organs freezing solid. For him, it felt like soaking in ice water, cold but far from deadly.

He had g cells, after all. Even if ordinary organs were destroyed, even if the brain or heart was lost, or most of the body was gone, as long as cells remained, he could grow back. Freezing to death was nothing, and even dragging out the Absolute Zero Cannon would not help.

Who could have imagined such a creature existed? His greatest strength was not raw destruction, but the absurd vitality and evolution of g cells. The answer to why was simple: Tokusatsu Monster.

The fragment's power was already failing to meet its own consumption and was extremely weak. It was only a fragment to begin with, already badly damaged, and had just escaped confinement only to be beaten again. As a mana reserve, its Magic was almost completely drained.

What little Magic it had left was eaten again before the seal was broken. Now it truly had no tricks left. Inside the fragment, the last hazy trace of mental awareness was worn down until it suddenly flared up.

It hurled its broken remnant of consciousness at the soul of the monster that had swallowed it. The intent was clear, a desperate final strike. The result was a soft, meaningless pop.

"What kind of weird noise was that?" The dragon sleeping in ice and snow felt as if something had lightly bumped into him, and his closed eyelids twitched.

A cracking sound rang out. The ice shell around him split open, and he emerged as if hatching again. First his wings spread, larger than before, then the ridge-like spines along his back rose and fell.

Ice fragments slid down like rain. His strong limbs easily lifted his enormous body, and after fully absorbing the fragment's power, he had changed slightly. His appearance and size were mostly the same, except the glow from his back spines carried a subtle difference.

Magic was strengthened once more, and his physical body became even tougher as a result. Pure physical strength had never worried him anyway, since it was always enough. He exhaled a long-held stream of cold air, and the already freezing cavern dropped noticeably in temperature again.

"Mm, now I just need to digest it for a while longer." Belial checked his stomach, where the fragment that had been beaten nonstop finally cracked apart. It was now wrapped in Energy Field and being squeezed hard for every bit of Magic it had left.

All that remained was to digest it slowly, and the process would be quite fast. There was no need to worry about it causing trouble anymore. With Energy Field restraining it at all times, even if the remaining Magic exploded at once, he could still swallow it whole.

The fragment was trapped in his furnace-like stomach, forced to give up every trace of energy. Greedy g cells absorbed it all and carried it through bones and channels to the entire body. The ice element was not wasted either, as newly developed organs rapidly absorbed, refined, and stored it.

"Eating something really is hard work." He had indeed been frozen quite badly during digestion, but it was nowhere near fatal. Being both hot and cold inside was truly uncomfortable, like eating ice cream right after hot pot.
