"Robert, shouldn't we retreat first?" Ryan asked cautiously, stepping beside him. "In this situation, fighting is very unwise."
Ryan wasn't concerned about his own safety; under normal circumstances, he couldn't die. His worry was for Robert, a student at the Mutant Academy.
"Want to leave? You must pay the price!" Stryker, resembling a rabid wolf, glared fiercely at the two individuals surrounded by Sentinel robots, his eyes filled with cruelty.
Robert met his gaze and smiled faintly. "Teacher, we can't be cowards. Wouldn't that be a disgrace to us Mutants? Let Stryker see just how terrifying ignorance can be."
As he spoke, Robert floated into the air, his eyes beginning to emit a red glow. Enough said. Today, he was Homelander in the flesh. No one could stop him!
Buzz!
Visible ripples appeared in the air, akin to the distortion seen on asphalt roads during a hot summer day. This anomaly was caused by the excessively high temperature of the Thermal Ray emitted from Robert's eyes.
Robert's attack was completely unexpected. The Sentinel robot in front of him, without any defense, was directly melted by his powerful Thermal Ray, leaving only a puddle of molten residue.
After Robert took down two Sentinel robots, the others reacted. The weapons mounted on their bodies began to fire. Red lasers, blue electric arcs, energy blasts, and other complex weapons shot towards Robert.
A flash of green light, and a green transparent bubble appeared around Robert, protecting both him and Ryan. Observing the surrounding Sentinel robots, Robert narrowed his eyes. It seemed these machines had already begun experimenting on Mutants.
The weapons mounted on these Sentinel robots weren't ordinary; they replicated various Mutant abilities. For ordinary Mutants, this Sentinel army was deadly. Even Magneto would struggle if surrounded by so many Sentinels.
These people had been planning this for a long time! Robert's mind raced.
Sentinel robots were powerful, but the first-generation models weren't that formidable. Their simulated Mutant abilities were mere technological knock-offs, lacking the near-rule control abilities of true Mutants. In this situation, their threat to Robert was limited.
Boom! Bang! Crash!
Various attacks bombarded them for a long time but failed to pose any threat to Robert. The shield formed by his Green Lantern Ring didn't even ripple.
Stryker was dumbfounded. "This is impossible! What kind of monster are you? How can you withstand this kind of attack!" he roared.
Although these Sentinel robots weren't as powerful as individual Mutants, they had numbers! They were mass-produced weapons—fearless, tireless, and capable of continuous combat as long as there was enough energy.
Hundreds of Sentinel robots combined could cause a qualitative change through quantitative accumulation. This kind of force, even if used to attack the X-Men Academy, might succeed. Sentinels had no soul! Professor X's abilities were useless against them.
But such a powerful force, one of the top on Earth, couldn't shake Robert's defense? This was outrageous!
"I don't believe you can withstand it indefinitely. Your power must also be consumed; increase the output power!" Stryker commanded. "Activate the adaptive circuit!!"
As soon as Stryker finished speaking, the Sentinel robots moved, their entire bodies beginning to emit a red glow. Robert observed that the surface of the Sentinel robots had changed, a certain red coating appearing. This coating seemed capable of withstanding high temperatures; the melting effects of Robert's Thermal Ray no longer posed a threat.
"Hmm? You've already started this research," Robert remarked, surprised. The strength of Sentinel robots lay in their ability to simulate Mutant powers. He hadn't expected that the first-generation models in this world had already begun developing this capability.
"Hehe, you're doomed!! You monster!! You have no idea how powerful these robots are!!" Stryker shouted fiercely.
Robert grinned. "Aren't you getting happy a little too early?"
Without giving Stryker a chance to react, Robert attacked. Red light emanated from his eyes as he turned his head in a circle. The high-temperature red light swept across the surroundings, melting everything in sight.
Those Sentinel robots, whose technology wasn't advanced, were directly cut in half, their internal structures melted by the high temperature. Several even triggered chain explosions, causing massive blasts in the area.
The red high-temperature protective coating on the Sentinel robots' bodies proved ineffective; they were all destroyed by Robert. The ground within his sight melted due to the intense heat, forming a layer of visible transparent crystal structure—a result of Robert melting the substances in the soil.
Wolverine watched from the side, gasping. This was terrifying! He felt that he would only be beaten if he faced Robert.
