Chapter 56 - 5.10 The Grey Wolf

Gray Handsome — the Grey Wolf — was a tall, well-built man with stunning looks. His stylish short haircut and steely gray eyes made him look more like a magazine model forced into the army than a true killer.

He had dyed his hair gray to match the color of his eyes.Gray had once served in the military on Earth, but no one realized he was a monster in disguise until Sergeant Gray committed mass murder, wiping out his entire unit commander's family.

Security footage showed a masked commando in black infiltrating and savagely killing Lieutenant Maron Zakim and his family. The father was stabbed in the back and his throat slit in the front yard. The mother was stabbed twenty times with a kitchen hunting knife. It was a university holiday when Angela, their daughter, came home. She was around twenty-two years old when Sergeant Gray slit her throat in the bathroom upstairs.

Gray fled the scene with Angela's corpse. Two days later, local fishermen reported finding her body at an abandoned bungalow by the sea.Forensic reports confirmed the DNA from the semen inside her matched Sergeant Gray Hadfield's DNA, which had been registered during his military enlistment.

Investigator Hodman officially recorded the case as rape and murder.Since that day, over five years ago, no one had seen Gray Hadfield again. It was as if he had vanished into the void of Earth itself.

Now, standing by a black pickup truck, Gray watched the burning house up the hill with narrowed eyes.

That bastard inside isn't some ordinary scavenger...he thought, after seeing nearly half his team wiped out in just a few moments.

Koey, the best marksman among them, was supposed to have handled it — but while Gray was evaluating the situation, he saw one of his men's heads explode from a sniper shot.

Swoosh!Blood and brain matter splattered everywhere.

"Sniper! Take cover!"Gray shouted, but it was too late.

Swoosh—Aaargh! He felt a brutal impact against his left side.

"Shit!"Luckily, the bullet hit his AR-15 rifle instead of his abdomen, the rifle absorbing most of the impact.

"He's over there!"Gray pointed, rallying his remaining six men to hunt down the rooftop shooter.

Thanks to his lethal skills and military training from Earth, Gray had quickly risen to lead the Ether Wolves — a gang of thugs turned highly disciplined killers under his command.

"M-m-motherf— that bastard shot my b-b-b-balls..."stammered Jeck, the group's hapless, stuttering member.

"Barely grazed it, idiot,"Jod C4 snorted after checking him.

Still, Jeck's left testicle had swollen to the size of a tennis ball.

"Guess you won't be playing with your little buddy for a while,"Gray chuckled, thoroughly enjoying Jeck's contorted face of agony.

"Boss, look!"Jod C4's usually fearless voice cracked.

Fifty meters away, over twenty zombies were turning their blank, dead gazes toward them.

At first, the creatures stumbled like drunken toddlers — but within moments, they were sprinting at full speed.

"Into the house! Move!"Gray barked. He and Jod C4 dragged the hobbling Jeck, who, despite his grotesquely swollen groin, hopped awkwardly but determinedly into a nearby house.

Together, they shoved a heavy sofa against the door to barricade it.

"What the hell is going on?"Jod C4 panted, exchanging confused glances with Gray and Jeck.No one had an answer.
