Chapter 460 - Chapter 460: The First Experiment Begins

"A good thing that can help you all evolve into Arrancar, but I'm not sure yet if it'll work. I need to find a few test subjects first," Rosse said with a smile.

"That's easy! Just tell us what kind you need, we'll catch them for you!", Mila, ever the impatient one, spoke up eagerly on the spot.

Just now, during both the fight and the standoff, they had been forced to watch from a distance. For her, whose true form was a lion Hollow, that was unbearable.

Power. She needed more power. Power strong enough to fight side by side with Lady Harribel.

"Any Adjuchas will do, strength doesn't matter. And one Gillian as a control group," Rosse really liked subordinates with initiative. Sora and Otohime had only reached that level of mutual understanding after a long period of his guidance.

In his own world, only Gion and Stella had been able to perfectly synchronize with him from the start.

"No problem, we'll go right now! Apacci, Sung-Sun, let's move!", Mila, being impulsive, was already preparing to head out to hunt.

Their strength wasn't weak, they were all around A-rank.

And in this world, the gap between tiers was enormous. Even a small difference could mean instant death, and no number of weaker beings could defeat someone even a single tier stronger.

The three of them combined weren't as strong as Harribel, but bullying a lone Adjuchas wouldn't be a problem.

"Seriously, who made you the one giving orders?"

Apacci grumbled in annoyance, but still followed right along, a textbook case of saying one thing and doing another.

"Exactly, but let me make it clear, I'm Lord Rosse's subordinate first."

As Sung-Sun quickly followed, she didn't forget to state her identity.

Even Harribel had already tacitly approved her earlier deal with Rosse.

Harribel's nature leaned toward self-sacrifice and devotion, but she preferred that the one making sacrifices be herself.

Still, if others chose to do so, she wouldn't stop them, she'd only show sincere respect.

"Your companions are quite lively," Rosse watched their departing backs with a small smile.

"And you? Your personality doesn't seem like that of someone without companions," Harribel sat on the white sand, looking at Rosse with curiosity.

She wasn't used to Apacci and the others' rough behavior. Having witnessed Rosse's strength firsthand, she maintained deep respect for him as a powerful being.

Of course, that respect was reserved only for the strong she acknowledged, not for schemers like Barragan or Aizen.

"I do have many companions, but they're not here. As for Hueco Mundo, you might be the first. Speaking of which, would you like to be my subordinate, Lady Harribel?", Rosse stepped up to her, extended his hand, and smiled as he offered the invitation.

A different world, and finally the chance to say something like this.

Back in his own world, everyone had been far too stubborn, unlike Hueco Mundo, where loyalty and simplicity still existed.

Even the current King of Hueco Mundo, Barragan, only ever cared about ruling Hueco Mundo itself.

Even after Aizen suppressed him with sheer force and replaced him, he still thought about taking revenge on Aizen before dying, a level of purity to the extreme.

"May I ask your ideals, then? What is it that you need me to do?"

Harribel raised her head seriously, staring into Rosse's face, completely uncovered by a mask.

Looking at him gave her a momentary daze, an instinctive urge to revere him, yet she could still see clearly, it was the face of an extraordinarily handsome man.

Too beautiful, unlike anything that should exist in Hueco Mundo. It resembled the kind of visage that the more imaginative Hollows described when picturing the most striking men among humans or Shinigami.

"My ideal, huh… That one day, you all can live under sunlight instead of this dead land of endless night. How's that for a philosophy?", Rosse smiled.

"Sounds like you just made it up," Harribel retorted bluntly.

"Hahahaha! Even if I just made it up, if you become my subordinate, I'll make it come true for you," Rosse laughed heartily.

And in truth, it really wouldn't be that hard for him.

He could simply send Harribel and the others to the Pirate World, and the problem would be solved.

However, Harribel's soul was too strong, and as a Hollow, she carried immense corrosive force. It was equivalent to someone constantly radiating a lethal level of Conqueror's Haki.

To let her exist safely, he'd have to find an uninhabited island, far from ordinary people.

"Can you really make that happen?", Harribel looked up, gazing at the world of silent white sand around them, and the eternal moon hanging motionless in the black sky.

After a long moment of silence, her hesitation turned to resolve.

Slowly, she stood upright, then sank to one knee before Rosse, laying her sword-like right arm flat across his hand and lowering her head in a knight's bow.

"Lord Rosse, for your ideal, I am willing to become the blade in your hand!"

"Thank you for your trust, Harribel. Ahead of us, there will be no enemies left standing!"

Rosse gently helped Harribel up, his expression full of satisfaction.

Moments like this, winning someone's loyalty with nothing but words, felt genuinely good deep down.

No wonder villains always emphasize charisma.

He might not have much of that, but his strength more than made up for any shortcomings in charm.

In Hueco Mundo, a world that values strength and action above all, showing power is far more effective than words.

After chatting casually with Harribel for a short while, Mila and the others returned,.dragging a nearly-dead Adjuchas with them.

"Lord Rosse, the Gillian's body is too big, so it's inconvenient to bring two at once. We caught one first and will hunt another later."

Sung-Sun started bragging the moment they arrived. She was Rosse's direct subordinate, after all, unlike those other two.

"Good work. Very efficient."

Rosse smiled and patted the snake head Sung-Sun offered him—though it wasn't a pleasant texture due to the mask still being there.

But soon, that would change completely.

"Hey, Sung-Sun, you damn snake!"

Apacci gritted her teeth in anger at Sung-Sun's smug expression.

They had clearly done most of the work, Sung-Sun had just been circling around to block the Adjuchas's escape route.

"If it weren't for me, it would've escaped," Sung-Sun smiled sweetly, stating the plain truth.

"You were the one assigned to block its retreat in the first place," Mila couldn't help but say.

"All right, enough."

Seeing Rosse walk toward the Adjuchas, Harribel stepped in to stop the bickering.

Three women together always meant a play, and these three had never gone a single day without making noise.

Still, despite their constant chatter, the trio was reliable when it counted. That was the one thing that reassured Harribel.

Rosse didn't bother with any extra procedures, he simply took out a regular Zoan-type fruit and shoved it into the Adjuchas's mouth.

Almost instantly, the Adjuchas began to change.
