Well, Naruto wasn't wrong about praising the ramen so much. It really was delicious, although I can't compare it to any other ramen, since it was my first time eating Japanese food.
And judging by Hinata's satisfied expression as she devoured hers rather quickly, she liked it too.
"Hinata-chan, you're a little dirty here," I said, wiping the dirt off her cheek with a napkin.
Hinata blushed and replied.
"Thank you... Mom..." she said, still clearly embarrassed, but I'm sure she'll come to trust me with time.
Meanwhile, Naruto had already eaten his sixth serving, which left me with a few questions: how did he fit it all in, and was he really eating here for free? Although, I'm sure his owner feeds him for free, so at least someone will show kindness to a boy who's had a rather harsh fate. On the other hand, I got rid of the mummy, which will subsequently change history, but I hope only for the better.
I could also kill the snake, or at least seal his soul, even if it's a clone of him, and in his real body he'll be just a vegetable. But I don't know yet whether I should interfere further, because I don't know how things will turn out in the future, and Naruto, and also...
Well, at least Hinata isn't in his future, and she never will be. Speaking of Hinata, I couldn't help but frown. I clearly felt something was wrong with Hinata...
But I don't know what it could be; I'm not familiar with Naruto's storyline, at least not the canon, so...
Wait, I think I know what's wrong with Hinata... I think her family has a seal placed on many people, something to do with a cage and a bird... The Caged Bird, or something like that... This seal could cause Hinata pain if activated...
Without thinking, I placed my hand on Hinata's forehead. I felt the seal from somewhere, which surprised her, but she didn't stop me.
Focusing, I directed the energy Miko had taught me straight into her head, and pretty soon, I reached the seal. And as soon as the energy touched the seal... the seal disintegrated...
I thought it would be difficult or that Hinata might be in pain, but this... Why think about that now...
Removing my hand from her forehead, I looked Hinata in the eyes and smiled, starting to stroke her head. She leaned into my hand, making me think she was about to purr.
After that, I left the money and looked at the owner.
"Taking care of the boy," I said, to which he nodded with a smile.
"Of course," he replied.
I picked Hinata up and we continued our walk through the village.
As we walked through the village, I distinctly heard whispers, mostly about Hinata and me. Many people wondered who I was and why I was holding Hyuga's child, but since no one was disturbing us, I ignored the whispers until they grew louder, and I looked in the direction of most of the voices.
I immediately noticed a man walking toward me, with a couple of other men behind him. Judging by their white eyes, it was Hyuga, and the man in front was Hiashi Hyuga, Hinata's father.
He finally stopped five meters away from me.
"You're a demon! Let go of my daughter!" he shouted.
"Demon? What's new..."
"And if I refuse?" I asked.
"Demon girl, you apparently don't understand who you're dealing with..."
I rolled my eyes and interrupted him.
"Yes, yes, the great and terrible Hyuga, what terrible thing would I agree to? After all, to do that to my own daughter..."
"Shut up!" he yelled, causing me to frown.
If I had Hinata in my arms, I would have cut off that arrogant bastard's head long ago.
"Well, let Hinata decide for herself who she wants to be with," I said, and Hinata, without even thinking, pressed herself against me.
"What did she decide, who she wants to be with?" I said, smirking.
Honestly, I was willing to bet he could explode at any moment, seeing as he was so flushed with anger.
He started to do something, but...
"What did you do with the seal?!" he growled.
"You mean the one with the slave seal on her forehead? Oh, I destroyed it," I said matter-of-factly.
He growled and lunged at me, but before he could land a blow, masked ninjas appeared in front of me, with Kakashi at their head.
"Kakashi, what do you think you're doing?" Hiashi asked angrily.
"I have orders from the Hokage to make sure no one provokes this girl," the gray-haired ninja said.
"Are you kidding me? Is this old man crazy? She's just an ordinary girl," Hiashi growled.
"Couldn't Hyuga, a mere girl, easily cut off Danzo's head?" Kakashi asked.
"Do you think I'll believe that?" Hiashi said.
"Believe it or not, but I have the Hokage's orders, and if you don't back down, I'll have no choice but to kill you," Kakashi said.
I saw Hiashi tense up, then step back and look at me.
"It's not over yet!"
"Oh, I'm afraid! Well, I wish you luck in finding me!" I said, smiling. I saw him want to attack me, but the ANBU ninja stopped him.
Finally, he turned and ran away.
"Well, thank you, but I think I could have handled it myself," I said, still holding Hinata.
"And what would you have done?" Kakashi asked me.
"Well..."
"No need, I already get it," he replied, and disappeared with everyone else.
Well, I might come back in the future and kill a few people in this world, but for now, I'll be back home...
Since when have I considered the Narukami Shrine my home... well, that doesn't really matter anymore.
After wandering around the village a bit more, I noticed more and more people turning pale when they saw me. Apparently, my skirmish with Hiashi had become known throughout the village, and that the ANBU were "protecting" me. Well, I didn't care; I'd never see these people again, except for those on my list, which isn't there yet, but maybe in the future.
In the end, I decided to return to the portal.
"So, Hinata, are you ready to see your new home?" I asked, to which she simply nodded.
Well, Miko will probably be shocked...
