Chapter 119 - Chapter 118: So Terrifying

"I've got two guns here. Which one do you want me to use to teach you?"

Inside the narrow shooting lane, Rebecca gently placed her two pistols on the table.

One had a pink-and-green color scheme, the other green-and-pink. Both were Omaha models—electromagnetic tech pistols produced by Militech.

Any weapon labeled "tech" usually meant it far outperformed others in its class—superior firepower and damage across the board.

Lin Mo had heard of these pistols before. Sasha, too, carried a pink Omaha of the same model.

"Aren't they the same anyway?" Lin Mo asked casually as he walked over and picked up one of the pistols, examining it carefully in his hand.

It was indeed a Militech Omaha, though clearly modified. Beyond the custom paint job, the internals had likely been altered as well.

In simple terms: this was a modded Omaha.

"Hey! Little Lin Mo, don't just grab a girl's gun like that! Don't you know a pistol is like a hairband for a girl—something personal? You're not allowed to just touch it!" Rebecca snapped, rising on her tiptoes to snatch the gun back.

Lin Mo smiled softly at her reaction. Seeing her all worked up, he put the gun back down, though he couldn't resist teasing:

"Girl? Where?"

The moment the words left his mouth, pain shot through his foot.

Rebecca, grinning sweetly, stomped down hard on his ankle with her short leg.

"Careful with your words, Little Lin Mo. People can die for talking nonsense," she said sweetly, though her tone carried a chilling edge.

Damn, she hits hard... Lin Mo winced, quickly pulling his foot back.

Wounded so "brutally," Lin Mo decided to drop the jokes and casually changed the subject.

"Did your brother help you mod that gun?"

Having recovered her beloved pistols, Rebecca casually flipped them in her hands and said:

"Yeah, that guy's only good for stuff like this. If he actually focused on upgrading tech, he might become a renowned modding expert. But instead, all he does is sulk and piss me off."

Lin Mo didn't respond. As someone who'd spent time with Pilar back at Lizzie's Bar, he knew the guy's... peculiar tastes.

Despite the endless variety of braindance content available, Pilar only watched solo driving simulations—one hand on the wheel, the other... on the shifter—reenacting Fast and Furious scenes in VR with a BD headset on.

Looking at the lively and expressive Rebecca in front of him, Lin Mo couldn't help but picture her brother—exhausted-looking, gray-skinned, and covered in synthetic dermal mesh.

Honestly, based on looks alone, there was zero family resemblance between those two.

"Anyway, forget about that idiot. Just thinking about him pisses me off. Hey, Little Lin Mo, let's do something fun~"

As Lin Mo fell into thought, Rebecca had already snuck up beside him and suddenly slapped his lower back with her small hand, giggling mischievously.

The sudden jolt of surprise even triggered Lin Mo's Kerenzikov—his surroundings slowed dramatically in his vision.

A second later, everything returned to normal, and his tense body finally relaxed.

He glanced at the girl next to him and sighed. "You do know the kidneys are off-limits, right, miss?"

"Don't be so stiff. Just call me Rebecca. And are you sure you're a man? Hmm~?" The twin-tailed girl eyed him playfully.

Even though the boy was clearly taller than her, Rebecca didn't act like it at all. Her demeanor was that of a seasoned senior teasing a clueless rookie.

Damn it. She's totally looking down on me!

Lin Mo's expression darkened, but he had no comeback—because she wasn't wrong.

No matter how many BDs he'd seen, the truth was he was still a rookie. With Xu Wanxue running his life like a fortress, no "fox spirit" had ever made it past the front door.

Xu Wanxue had absolute control over her little brother's love life. The more she doted on him, the tighter the chains.

"Speechless, huh? That's what I thought, Little Lin Mo."

Rebecca's big eyes sparkled with amusement. She clearly wanted to keep teasing him, but seeing the helpless and annoyed look on Lin Mo's face, she held back. With a wave of her hand like a benevolent adult, she turned and walked back to the shooting lane's table.

"Fine, I'll stop messing with you. Time for real business. You brought your gun, right?"

"I did." Lin Mo walked over and pulled two pistols from his waist pouch.

"One Kang Tao Smart Pistol, and one Unity I picked up from a past gig."

After laying both guns on the shooting lane table, Rebecca took a curious look and nodded in approval. "Not bad."

"So how do you want to do this?" Lin Mo asked.

She had been the one to invite him to the range. Aside from suggesting the venue, Lin Mo hadn't made any plans.

In truth, this visit was more about building rapport with the twin-tailed firecracker in front of him. Gotta play the long game if you want to poach talent.

"I was planning to teach you how to handle a gun and aim properly, but it looks like you already know the basics, huh?" Rebecca tapped the barrel of her Omaha pistol against her forehead in mock frustration.

"Yeah. My family hired one of the best instructors in the biz," Lin Mo nodded.

In Night City, gun skills were practically mandatory. Xu Wanxue wasn't naïve—she had hired professional security staff from the corp to train him thoroughly.

Even the Smart Link in his palm had been implanted by Viktor with her approval.

"Figures. Rich kid. But I'm guessing you've never trained at a shabby little range like this, huh? How about big sis shows you how it's done?" Rebecca smirked.

"Be my guest," Lin Mo said, stepping aside.

Without hesitation, Rebecca picked up her twin pistols and confidently faced the target area.

Quietly, Lin Mo walked over to the control panel and dialed the target difficulty to max.

As the first target popped up, the girl let out an excited squeal—as if matching her inner thrill—and both of her Omaha pistols unleashed a storm of electromagnetic fire.

There was no pungent smell of gunpowder. Tech weapons made a distinct hum, lacking the explosive bang of traditional firearms—but their penetrating power was even deadlier.

Not a single target escaped her.

Every humanoid target that popped up was instantly nailed in the head by a precise round.

Witnessing the scene, Lin Mo was filled with awe.

Such talent. Terrifying.

She must be brought into the fold—no matter what.
