The criminal holding the girl hostage also activated his Sandevistan, entering the time-slowed domain alongside Lin Mo.

A sneer appeared at the corner of his mouth, as though mocking Lin Mo's audacity.

If it were with a sharp long blade, he might have been more cautious.

But with these trivial guns, the bullets fired were as ineffective against his top-grade subdermal armor as if someone were throwing stones at him.

Facing the boy's gunshot, he silently made a decision.

Since this kid doesn't play by the rules, he should show him some consequences. Once the time-slowed field ends, he would directly crush the girl's head in front of him.

Such a marvelous scene, if it were to flash by in the time-slowed domain, would be a waste if only he and the boy witnessed it while the hacker behind the scenes missed it.

All along, he thought the bullets were coming toward him, so he stood his ground, unafraid, not dodging or avoiding.

But when the girl instinctively moaned in pain, and two bursts of blood splattered from her arms and thighs, the man suddenly froze.

He saw her body seemingly lose all strength, like a puppet in his hands, the weight shifting entirely onto his grip.

In the silent, frozen time domain, the man suddenly laughed.

What a madman.

Just like me...

"Unexpected move."

Brutus casually threw the woman aside and suddenly looked at Lin Mo with a fiery gaze.

"If it weren't for this place, under these circumstances, I think I'd enjoy getting along with you."

The man grinned wildly, his left hand twisting slightly, and sharp metal claws flicked out.

The boy ignored him, lowering his head, his eyes narrowing as he looked at the man, his face hidden under flowing black hair.

"Brutus, right?" the boy asked.

The man elegantly placed a hand on his chest, bowing slightly. "That's correct."

"Your name is hard to remember. How about I come up with a few other names for you?" The boy's gaze turned murderous.

The Black Unicorn unsheathed in an instant, its fierce light like a moonbeam piercing through the dark clouds.

"Scum, beast, worm eating shit in the gutter!"

Cold and extreme killing intent gathered on his face, his beautiful features darkening with a sinister shadow, like a demon rising from hell. The Black Unicorn trembled in his hand, its ancient, cold blade usually so elegant, now gleaming like a cold, vengeful ghost fire, its runes flickering like a malevolent force spreading into the world.

Sandevistan, activated for the eighth time!

The boy entered the time-slowed domain again, where time only existed within his vision. He silently recited the mental mantra.

And so, the entire world obeyed his command.

75% time reduction, nearly four times the speed, the slashing was also near four times faster, with the killing intent amplified accordingly.

The boy soared like an eagle, his Black Unicorn again slicing out arcs of light. The fleeting crescent-shaped beams were drawn out in the time-frozen state, each drop of blood staining the air.

Brutus raised his unscathed left hand, and his arm, like his shoulder, launched another bullet-launching device.

Countless bullets sprayed from the barrel—this was the only thing that could hurt Lin Mo in the slowed world. The technological advancement condensed into those tiny bullets was something Lin Mo couldn't easily dodge.

In this domain where time was manipulated, he was still just a child, still in awe of certain things.

The bullets raced past him, and the man was surprised to find it hard to capture the boy's movements.

He moved like the most skilled hunter, familiar with every attack the prey might make, always dodging just before it came.

The bullets flew past him, unable to pierce his body, getting closer to him.

At this point, the façade was completely gone, there was no room left for compromise between the two.

Lin Mo had no reason to hold back, he would strike with full force.

Holding the Black Unicorn, the gleaming blade flashed like moonlight breaking through the darkened basement, with boundless killing intent beneath.

This was their battlefield, the one only they could enter. The Sandevistan granted them the power to defy time. In this domain, it was king against king, general against general!

Seeing that the bullets couldn't lock onto Lin Mo, Brutus's expression darkened further. He hadn't expected the boy to be this fast.

Earlier, in the cramped room, there was no space for the boy to dodge the bullets, and in that situation, he managed to land a hit.

But now that they were out of the room, Brutus had assumed that with a larger space, close combat weapons like swords and knives would give him an advantage.

He had judged wrong, terribly wrong.

Even within the Sandevistan slowed domain, he was at a disadvantage, with the young boy clearly gaining the upper hand, moving faster than him in this state.

The Sandevistan 2 model?

No, wait!

He had thought that, given his age, the boy might only have the 2nd model, but now he realized that it must be the 3rd model!

The thought struck him, and Brutus felt his mind spinning, his frustration mounting. Looking at the young face, and the innocent, clear voice, the boy looked like a little brat in every way.

But how many times had he activated his own Sandevistan? Even if he hadn't used it before coming here, he had used it at least eight or nine times during this fight!

There was no time to be surprised. The boy didn't give him any chance to think. The chilling blade came down upon him, and in just a few seconds, the boy was already in front of him, the sword gleaming like autumn frost, silver moonlight appearing in an instant.

Noticing that even if his left-hand bullet launcher hit the boy, it wouldn't cause any effective harm, Brutus's eyes darkened further. As he retreated, he extended his right hand, deploying the grenade launcher.

There was no brilliant flash of light as the grenade silently shot from the barrel, but the boy's gaze grew cold. He casually tilted his head, the grenade brushing past his side as the airflow lifted his hair.

Boom!

The grenade exploded, fire rising behind him. The whole scene was crystal clear in the slowed world, the shockwave blowing the boy's jacket. He raised his sword high and reached the man's front.

The blade struck down with a powerful force, like a waterfall crashing down, the air roaring with its speed.

Brutus's face darkened, and as the heavy blow came down, fortunately, the boy's swing was obvious, and he barely managed to block it with his remaining left hand's claws.

Lin Mo remained calm, changing the swing into a thrust. The blade was held at the claws, sparking brilliant sparks as it thrust forward, aiming straight for the man's mouth.

The thrust was so close that Brutus couldn't dodge in time. He could only watch as the blade pierced his mouth, breaking through his teeth and into his throat.

In a desperate reaction, Brutus unleashed all his remaining strength, shoving his left hand outward. The sudden force made Lin Mo lose his balance, and he staggered backward.

The boy stepped back, his sword dripping with blood, his body straightening, his steps regaining stability, his gaze as calm as still water.

He hadn't been wrong in his observation. The man's jaw was also made of metal. If they peeled back the skin, the intricate metal structure would be visible.

"You've been given a chance at life... what a pity," the boy said regretfully.

Brutus staggered back, coughing up blood, his mouth leaking air through his missing teeth.

"Wait... maybe we can still talk..."

After the brief skirmish, both of them understood one thing: Brutus, the man, was bound to die.

He didn't want to die yet. His previous arrogance and calmness were meaningless in the face of death. He put down his pride and begged for his life for the first time.

Lin Mo didn't respond, lifting his knife, and silently stepped forward.

Sandevistan, activated for the ninth time!

"Shit!" Brutus roared as his own Sandevistan kicked in.

He wasn't skilled in close combat; his weapons, whether firearms or combat implants, were mostly designed for ranged attacks.

Even when the boy first entered the room, Brutus wasn't prepared at all, holding only a decent handgun, far from a match for an armed ninja!

Yes, the boy's sharp swordsmanship and relentless killing intent reminded him of the ninja army trained by Arasaka, whose speed was said to be ghostly as they wiped out enemies with their katana.

Seeing the negotiations fail, Brutus was consumed by despair.

His alloy claws, meant for intimidation, were no match for the boy's sword. After several clashes, there were many cracks in his claws.

Moreover, with his right hand severed, he could only rely on one claw to fight!

The balance of power had shifted, and Brutus was helpless against the boy's fierce strikes.

He tried using his trump card. A sharp mantis blade sprang out from his right knee, like the scythe of death, aimed at the boy's side.

But all was in vain. The boy glanced at it, easily blocking the attack with his sword held in both hands, and then swiftly slashed upward, cutting the mantis blade in half.

By the time the blade retracted back to the knee, it was just the bare hilt.

Nothing escapes the blade!

Brutus regretted not considering the basement's security more carefully. If only he had installed hidden turrets here.

With large-caliber turrets and AI-assisted targeting, even a Sandevistan user wouldn't have been able to escape unscathed.

No, wait, they had a hacker too. Even with turrets, it might not have worked... Brutus thought hopelessly.

Finally, after another round of fighting, Brutus made a mistake, and Lin Mo once again severed his left hand.

The alloy claw embedded in his fingers fell slowly to the ground. From that moment, Brutus had no more means to fight back.

However, this cunning wolf, with rich combat experience, didn't panic. Instead, seeing himself at a complete disadvantage, he let out a furious roar.

The roar echoed like a beast at the end of its path. Lin Mo's eyes narrowed, thinking the man might still have a trick up his sleeve, and he adjusted his stance, preparing to defend.

Brutus's eyes twisted with rage as if he activated some kind of switch. His legs leaked white gas, and the man lunged forward like a cannonball.

He was trying to make a desperate escape!

"Does it help?" Lin Mo coldly remarked.

Even if your running speed surpasses normal limits, what difference does it make?

The moment you take a step, I'll already react!

He turned, his eyes like blades, glancing at the trapped man, his right foot raised high, and with one swift kick, struck Brutus in the stomach.

The immense force sent the man flying backward, but in the slowed time domain, his movements also slowed.

His body hung in the air, while Lin Mo casually walked to his side, even pausing to study his expression.

The two exchanged silent glances. Lin Mo, holding his blade high, looked down at the man's desperate eyes. The young boy's gaze was as cold as a high executioner's. Without mercy, he brought the blade down.

Bisected at the waist.
