"Found it." Xavier said as he took up his gun from the bush where he had thrown it the previous day. The surrounding ground was scorched black, and a few of the trees fell to the ground as fireballs exploded their all over their form. Mickey held his gun in hand, and Xavier slung his over his shoulder. The two walked through the forest, following the trail of destruction left by the Diabolic Imps when they chased them the previous day.
"Damn it, I wish we could have used the orb before leaving the sanctuary." Mickey said as he held his shield and sword in hand. The two of them decided that it would be best if they saved their ammo for the boss in the Goblin Cave.
"So do I, but atleast we won't have to hunt down extra monsters to pay pur tax." Xavier said, tapping the five imp monster stones in his pocket, but that didn't make Mickey feel any better.
"At this point, most of the monsters are easy pickings for us, so the tax isn't a problem." Mickey said and Xavier was inclined to agree. Their attributes were so high at this point that most monsters weren't a threat to them, not even the imps that everyone was so afraid of.
The two of them continued moving through the forest when they spotted five imps circling in the sky. They made no attempts to hide themselves, so the imps easily spotted them, but unlike the usual pattern that they have seen so far, they didn't attack and instead started to emit loud screeches as they continued to fly in the sky.
"That's new." Xavier said, while he continued to watch the imps screeching in the sky. Suddenly, two fireballs broke through the treeline, heading straight at the two of them fast. Mickey was the first to spot the fireballs and he quickly pushed Xavier out of the way and blocked it with his shield. The momentum behind the fireballs pushed him back a few inches, but he didn't even feel the heat from the fireballs. Two Diabolic Imps flew towards them from the direction the fireballs came from, their claws glistening in the sun, ready to rip them apart. The five imps that were flying in the sky also descended and Xavier quickly dived towards the Diabolic Imps.
"Don't worry, I'll hold these two off. You deal with those five little bastards." Mickey said, as he blocked a stream of flames from one of the Diabolic Imps with his shield. The second one tried to attack him from the side, but he quickly rolled across the ground and out of the way of the stream before blocking the second one's claw attack. Xavier turned and lunged at the imps. who were rapidly descending to the ground. He jumped onto a nearby tree branch and jumped towards an imp, stabbing it in the throat.
He ripped out the dagger from it's throat savagely, splashing blue blood everywhere, he grabbed onto another close by. He pulled on the poor Imp's leg hard, allowing him to propel himself higher into the air, past the other three imps. They turned around, and two of them received daggers in their chests, and as he descended, he grabbed the last one, delivering a powerful punch to it's face before throwing it to the ground. As he descended, he grabbed onto a tree branch and lunged towards the imp he used to propel higher into the air. The monster was barely able to halt it's descent by flapping it's wings as hard as it could, but Xavier kicked it to the ground, using it's face to slide across the ground.
The imp struggled to get up, but Xavier was much stronger than it, and it stood no chance. He grabbed his his dagger out of the chest of a still barely alive imp, and stabbed the one struggling under his foot, killing it. He soon collected his second dagger and stabbed the imp that he punched in the face, which was knocked out cold, and sighed.
'I should probably buy another dagger, it would make killing these guys much easier.' Xavier though idly, before turning towards Mickey who was still busy fighting the Diabolic Imps. Their strategy seemed to have one Diabolic Imp pinning him down by shooting a stream of flames out of it's hands, while the other went in for the kill. Mickey wasn't faster than the Diabolic Imps so it was hard to outmaneuver and get away from the stream of flames, so he opted for a different strategy. When the second one came in to attack with it's claws, he grabbed it's hand, kicked it in the groin, and threw it into the flames. It was already an established fact that these Diabolic Imps weren't completely immune to their own flames, so they were most likely less so to the flames of others, and that became very apparent. The second Diabolic Imp screamed in pain as it's entire body was scorched, becoming even redder than before. The first imp quickly turn off the flames and Mickey used that opening to throw his shield, hitting it in the chest and causing it to be sent flying a few meters away. He then lunged at the second one which was writhing in pain from the flames with his swords.
'Why is this starting to feel a bit routine?' Xavier thought, as he joined in the fight
