~Alex's POV
The morning light streamed through the massive windows of my bedroom, golden rays spilling over the silk sheets tangled around my body. I blinked against the brightness, groaning as I ran a hand over my face.
I pushed myself up, my muscles aching slightly from the tension of the previous night. With a sigh, I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, planting my feet on the cool marble floor.
There was no need to call for anyone. Like clockwork, the maids were already moving. A soft knock at the door was followed by the quiet creak as one of them peeked in. "Your bath is ready, Your Majesty."
I nodded, standing up and rolling my shoulders. "I'll be there in a second."
The maid disappeared as silently as she came, and I made my way to the bathroom. The scent of expensive bath oils filled the air, sandalwood and citrus, something meant to relax the mind. I stepped into the tub, letting the warm water ease away whatever stiffness remained in my body.
