Ariel was a grown woman. She was far too old to be believing everything that she was told. Experience had taught her that doing that was foolish. But she had to admit. When Peter had told her that he would make things right, that he would get Tristan home. A very big part of Ariel had actually believed her younger brother. That was how badly she missed her husband. For almost an hour Ariel had stayed in the living room staring at the front door, just waiting for Tristan to arrive.
But that had not happened. Instead what had happened was that one hour had turned into two, then three hours with it slowly getting darker. But even with the realization that her brother's promise to her was not going to become reality, had not wanted to give up. She had hung on as long as possible.
