With everything that had gone on, Tristan had expected Ariel finally waking up, to be this huge deal. A beam of sunlight making it through the room and just instantly brightening it. A white dove perching on the windowsill and looking in on them.
But none of that happened. What did occur though was that Tristan, after seeing Peter off, had just settled in to spend a few hours in Ariel's room when he saw some movement from the bed. Immediately, he got up, and moved to the closer to the bed, leaning over her.
"Ariel," He called softly. Not really expecting a response from her. But unlike all of the other times where it had been clear that she was not aware of his presence. His wife moved her head in the direction of his voice. Then the most beautiful thing ever happened she opened her eyes.
