The quinque case was clearly made of special material, so Touka Kirishima's crystal feathers did not pierce the casing.
At the same time, the man pressed the button on the handle. Then, the quinque case in his hand disintegrated, and the quinque in the alley was released, forming a large paddle shape in the man's hand, appearing to be a shield.
The quinque shield in the man's hand was black, with some dark red hues. One end was pointed, suggesting that besides being used for defense, it also possessed offensive capabilities.
Judging by the form of the quinque, it was likely also made from a Koukaku.
