Zenitsu's intense enthusiasm lasted only three days. After that, Kanao's training completely demoralized him.
What broke Zenitsu's spirit wasn't the medicinal liquid; it was his complete inability to touch Kanao, no matter how hard he tried. This was his ultimate downfall.
A week later, Zenitsu and Inosuke gave up on training. Only Tanjiro persevered, but he too hit a wall. Remembering Ryuji, Tanjiro sought his guidance after training one day, going to Ryuji's training grounds.
Tanjiro knew Ryuji would see his shortcomings.
Ryuji was correcting his trainees' techniques. Although each trainee used different Breathing Styles, Ryuji, through his understanding of swordsmanship and kendo, refined their movements.
Watching Ryuji confidently teach others, Tanjiro felt envious. When would he reach that level?
Seeing Tanjiro, Ryuji addressed the Moonslayer trainees, "The key thing you need to understand is why techniques are performed a certain way, and the benefits of that execution.
Different techniques have different focuses.
Concentrating your Breathing Style on that focal point maximizes the technique's power."
"Think about this on your own. Training is over for today. You're dismissed!"
The Moonslayer trainees happily left.
Only Shinichi and Jiro remained, approaching Tanjiro. Jiro asked, "Tanjiro, how are your injuries healing?"
"Completely healed. I'm undergoing rehabilitation training," Tanjiro replied.
"How's the training with Senior Ryuji going?" Tanjiro asked.
Shinichi excitedly said, "Amazing! My breathing compatibility is perfectly synchronized with my body.
Besides daily breathing and physical training, Senior Ryuji has started training us in our Breathing Style techniques.
I think if I keep training this way, I have a chance of becoming a Hashira!"
Before Shinichi could finish, Ryuji appeared and bonked him on the head. "Aren't you leaving? Planning on extra practice?"
Shinichi, realizing they had private business, chuckled awkwardly. "Senior Ryuji, you two chat. My brother and I will go!"
He quickly pulled Jiro away.
Ryuji went straight to the point, "What do you need?"
Tanjiro hesitated, "Senior Ryuji, I've hit a wall."
"A wall?!" Ryuji didn't understand what Tanjiro meant.
