Two weeks later, Tanjiro and Inosuke, their injuries mostly healed, were called by Shinobu for rehabilitation training.
Zenitsu, whose atrophied limbs hadn't fully recovered, had to wait. Each time Tanjiro and Inosuke returned from training, they looked utterly exhausted, filling Zenitsu with dread about the grueling regimen.
Seeing their weary state, Zenitsu asked, "Tanjiro, Inosuke, what kind of training leaves you both so exhausted?"
Tanjiro and Inosuke, too drained to respond, collapsed onto their beds and fell asleep.
Zenitsu complained loudly, "Hey! I'm starting rehabilitation training tomorrow! Can't you tell me what kind of training it is? At least give me some warning!"
The next morning, Zenitsu joined Tanjiro and Inosuke for their training. Their zombie-like appearance further fueled his apprehension.
They arrived at the rehabilitation training room. Kanao, Aoi Kanzaki, Naho, Kiyo, and Sumi were already there. Kanao sat at a table with numerous cups, while Naho, Kiyo, and Sumi waited by three padded mats.
Aoi Kanzaki addressed them, "Zenitsu, this is your first day, so I'll explain everything later. For now, watch Tanjiro and Inosuke."
"First, Naho, Kiyo, and Sumi will loosen your stiff bodies," Aoi explained. Inosuke was pulled onto a mat and his bones and muscles were stretched by the three girls. Even Inosuke, known for his flexibility, cried out in pain. Afterward, he lay completely limp on the mat.
"Next is the reaction training. The cups on the table contain medicinal liquid. You'll sit opposite Kanao and throw the liquid at each other. If you're stopped before picking up a cup, you don't have to continue with that cup."
Aoi explained the reaction training. As soon as she finished, Zenitsu saw Tanjiro get splashed.
After watching Tanjiro and Inosuke complete both exercises, Aoi said, "Finally, full-body training. It's basically tag; Kanao and I will be your opponents."
Having witnessed the entire process, Zenitsu said, "Excuse me, I need to talk to Tanjiro and Inosuke for a moment!"
With a grim expression, Zenitsu grabbed Tanjiro and Inosuke by their collars and dragged them out of the training room. "Come with me!"
"I'm not going!" Inosuke immediately refused.
"Don't be stupid, get over here!" Zenitsu yelled, dragging them away.
