Yonkers, New York - Westchester County
Dull thuds could be heard on the outskirts of the third most populated city in New York. On the riverbank between two forests, a battle was taking place. The ground had cracked in multiple areas. Trees had been uprooted.
A large muscular man of Russian descent rested on the ground. His skin was a silver color resembling steel. While sitting on one knee, he looked at the man before him. This guy was even larger…effortlessly clearing 8 feet in height.
This hulking figure was covered in a red bodysuit that cut off at the shoulders. Only his mouth and eyes could be seen due to the armored plating covering his head. Almost like a fish bowl. A red glow pulsed in the middle of his chest, lines extending across his body. It thrummed with power.
"You weren't this strong last time." Colossus gasped. His voice sounded tired.
"Last time? You were still smashed into the ground. If it weren't for your buddies, I would've melted you into a cock ring." Juggernaut growled.
"...That's a vivid imagination."
"Imagination? This is reality."
The large tank of a man charged toward Colossus. Each footstep could be felt through the ground. The X-Man had no choice but to rise to his feet. He charged forward.
BAM
Cracks appeared like spider webs. Strength versus strength. Muscles bulged in order to defeat the other. Unfortunately it wasn't to be. Juggernaut hit him with a spartan kick.
Colossus sailed into the forest, his body crashing through several trees. The hulking man didn't let go of the advantage, chasing the steel man for another blow. It was at this moment that a green portal appeared. Two figures stepped out.
"Don't make a face like that, Kara." Val soothed.
"Hmph. I'm not making a face." She lied.
The daughter of Zod walked ahead of him with an attitude. She would never disobey him, but her emotions bled through her actions. The lovely beauty was jealous. Jealous of all the women who looked at him in such a way. She already had him to herself…but it irked her.
"Childish."
"........" Kara didn't respond.
Instead, she checked her surroundings. That was when she noticed a metal man flying toward her. His back crashed through trees. Finally, he crashed into her.
DONG
With the sound of a deep bell, Colossus' body flipped like a plank. It was as if he'd smacked into an adamantium pole! Too thin to hold him…too strong so it hurt more. The Russian man knew a bone was broken.
"AAAGGHH!" He squealed upon landing in the dirt. His hand went to his back.
Juggernaut's follow up had already been approaching. A large fist had set sail. He didn't expect his target to bounce away like a ball. Only then did he see what was behind the steel man. It was too late to stop his attack…as if that mattered. Heh.
"Move." He growled mid swing.
BANG
A red light pulsed out from the point impact. It was a testament to his strength. A plume of dust rose up alongside dirt and rock. The ground cracked.
Once everything settled, Kara was revealed. Her head didn't even move. A vein had appeared on her forehead. Her irritation levels had elevated. Now she was pissed.
Juggernaut frowned with caution. His attack didn't do a thing? Who was this? He felt butterflies in his stomach as she moved. Her right hand clenched…and the air crackled.
Wind currents swirled as her fist rose up to the giant man. It was as if the atmosphere was imploding around the slender fist. A deadly uppercut.
BOOM
His vision turned white. It felt like thunder had struck his skull. A body of almost 2,000 pounds was launched into the sky. Parts of his armored shell had shattered away.
When Juggernaut regained consciousness, he was falling from the air. The Messenger was standing on top of his body with crossed arms, glaring down at him like vermin. Her cape flapped wildly above her.
"You came at the perfect time. I was looking for a punching bag." She stated in a calm voice. Her anger simmered underneath it.
His body crashed into the ground, but his velocity caused him to skip like a rock. Kara used him as a skateboard. Hills were ripped through like paper. It was like a large scar that went in a jagged line.
"Ugh!" Juggernaut finally groaned in pain. His lungs had finally been able to take in some air.
With a punch filled with desperation, it soared to the woman standing on his torso. A futile attempt. Kara swatted it away like a fly…then her fist came down. His vision went white again.
—
Val-Ul hadn't moved from his initial location. He was too surprised by what he was seeing. He knew these people. Piotr Rasputin, a mutant who lived in the X-Mansion as part of the X-Men. Then there was Cain Marko, also known as Juggernaut.
Juggernaut was a musclehead. A brute. His strength came from a deity known as Cyttorak. It fluctuated according to the deity's mood. One random day he could have the strength to level cities. Other days he would only be able to lift vehicles.
The son of Ul turned to the man groaning on the floor. Colossus really looked as if the back pain would kill him. He was still rolling on the dirt. Val shook his head before looking away. His hand waved, a strange energy healing the mutant's back.
It was an afterthought. Val ignored the man from then on. He knew that Kara was venting on the unlucky brute. What a terrible position to be in.
Floating up into the sky, he gazed at the city of Yonkers, then at Manhattan which wasn't too far away. This wasn't exactly what he was expecting. It was a possibility, but not quite his first choice. Going to the studio next door?
This meant something new. This meant he wouldn't only be restricted to the DC multiverse. Marvel was included, maybe even others. Possibilities had just opened up like the Yggdrasil tree.
Well…it WAS supposed to be an adventure. Looks like a whole deep space could be explored again. Several gazes from different realms and dimensions had felt the presence of his arrival.
Most didn't know where that presence was coming from, but a few were able to pinpoint. Val-Ul turned his gaze to the side. Someone was watching nearby.
"Do you have a thing for spying?" He asked calmly.
There was no response. No matter where the hidden figure relocated, his gaze would meet the eyes. Only then did the figure realize that it was futile. The fold of space shifted…and a woman stepped out.
An older woman. There was no hair on her head. She was completely bald. Her expression was one of wariness. She was draped in brown garbs, like some variation of a wizard. It was the Ancient One.
"Forgive me. I was only curious." She said.
"Curiosity is natural." He replied evenly.
"You aren't from here. It's hard to figure you out."
"..........."
With his hands behind his back, Val-Ul turned away. His gaze went over the landscape once more. A wry smile appeared on his lips. Kara seemed to be finished. The air crackled with a sonic boom. A few blinks later and she arrived beside Val.
WOOSH
The air pressure caused the wind to pick up. Kara Dru-Zod scanned the Ancient One in under a second. Many things were revealed. The Ancient One's hands were clammy. Her adrenal glands were working hard.
"Hmph." She scoffed quietly.
Both Kara and Val floated silently with their hands behind their backs. Their subtle actions evoked the semblance of a militant heritage. The Ancient One was sure of it.
"Can I interest you both in some tea?" The Sorcerer Supreme offered.
"...Maybe next time. I'm not in the mood for business talks." Val answered.
"Business…talks? Hmm…I understand." She chuckled.
It would've indeed been a business talk. The powerful man had already seen through her intentions. Looks like she would need to try again later. She needed to learn his personality.
The two kryptonians burst into motion. Their capes rustled and the sound barrier shattered. They quickly disappeared among the clouds. Once they couldn't be seen anymore…the Ancient One finally released her breath.
That man's presence…it was suffocating. It felt like she was drowning underwater. Nothing had made her feel such a thing before. Not only that…she couldn't see his future. His possible butterfly effects on the world. None of it.
