Natsuki was about to say more when he suddenly froze.

A heartbeat later, he vanished.

Tenten hurriedly raised her binoculars toward the direction Natsuki had flashed to. At the horizon, something was streaking into the village at extreme speed.

"Is that… Ajisai from the exams?"

She blinked—then snapped to it. "No! It's Pain! Akatsuki is here!"

She yanked the signal flare. A crisp report echoed across the village.

Shinobi all over reacted at once, leaping onto rooftops. A dark speck dropped from high above into the village. Too far to see clearly—but definitely a person.

From the Barrier Squad came a relay: a single intruder had breached the perimeter.

Per the plan, nearby squads converged immediately.

But the enemy was faster.

The orange-haired Animal Path—the body that looked like Ajisai—hit the ground, then instantly Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique): Deva Path, Naraka Path, Human Path, Asura Path, and Preta Path—as well as Konan—fanned out in four directions.

Natsuki had still been too far. By the time he flashed in, only the Animal Path remained.

The Animal Path slammed her hands to the ground. "Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A three-headed splitting hound, a giant hell crab, and a massive bull appeared—colossal all three—and immediately rampaged in different directions, smashing houses as they went.

"Tch! The Animal Path is the most annoying."

Muttering, Natsuki Rai Shunshin (Lightning Flash Body Flicker)'d forward, ready to punt the Animal Path into next week—when a force slammed in from far away, insanely fast.

Kaboom! A building behind him exploded—yet Natsuki was nowhere in the blast.

He had Hiraishin no Jutsu (Flying Thunder God Technique)'d to a pre-placed formula, eyes tracking the attack's source: the Deva Path stood there in silence—oppressive even without a word.

Natsuki didn't flinch. He hopped to meet him head-on.

"Deva Path, huh?" He quietly drew the demon blade, Thousand Edge.

"You are Natsuki?"

Deva's voice was flat but imperious. "I've heard of you—you defeated strong foes like Orochimaru, Kakuzu, Itachi, and Kisame. You have some skill. But before a god, such tricks are nothing."

"Judge. Destroy."

"We'll see after I try."

Natsuki didn't bother with chatter. He Rai Shunshin (Lightning Flash Body Flicker)'d in; the blade's fractured edge hummed with lightning, stabbing for the head.

Fast—very fast—but perhaps not fast enough before the Rinnegan (Rinnegan).

Deva didn't even move. A black receiver appeared in his hand to parry—yet Thousand Edge split mid-flight, veering around the guard to keep carving toward his skull.

Clang—then a sudden, crushing force blasted the blade aside: Shinra Tensei (Almighty Push).

Deva Path's hallmarks: repulsion, Shinra Tensei (Almighty Push), and attraction, Banshō Ten'in (Universal Pull). No one hurts him; no one escapes him.

Natsuki already knew this and wasn't surprised. He pulsed chakra into the hilt; the scattered blade-shards zipped back together.

He'd used Thousand Edge to test the waters—feel out Deva's real timing. Watching anime and facing him weren't the same. You couldn't lean on anime logic against a monster like this—right now, Deva was the shinobi world's lone super-Kage.

While Natsuki squared off with Deva, the Animal Path bolted.

Her summoned beasts—the splitting hound, hell crab, and bull—were wreaking havoc in three directions, crushing buildings by the dozen.

Thankfully, squads finally arrived. (看暴爽小说,就上飞卢小说网!)

Tsume and Kiba, astride their partners, slammed into the splitting hound—three canines instantly tangled in a savage grapple.

On another street, Chōza and Chōji ballooned into giants and charged the bull; the two sides met horn-to-fist in a thunderous clash.

As for the hell crab—that one ran into Aoba's team.

They were one short—Megumi had been pulled to the med corps, ready to rush lifesaving care the moment injuries hit. Sakura too.

Aoba and Rinya unleashed Sennen Karasu (Thousand Scattering Crows) to harry the crab—but the thing barreled through, ignoring the swarm, giving both men a headache.

"Let me!"

Yakumo swept charcoal across her board, sketching a colossal weight—then smashed it down onto the crab's carapace. The shell cracked; the beast pinned, legs scrabbling.

"Nice one, Yakumo! Rinya—Gōkakyū no Jutsu (Great Fireball Technique)!"

Aoba barked the order. He and Rinya vaulted in and loosed great fireballs point-blank. Under the blaze the crab shrieked and writhed—refusing to go down fast. The Animal Path's summons… were no joke.

"Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)!"

The Animal Path kept moving, dropping more contracts: a titan centipede, a chameleon, an eight-span crow—each huge, each spewing its own tricks—turning the district into a war zone.

And nastier than the beasts were the other Paths.

The Asura Path landed on a rooftop, scanning for Jinchuriki.

In the next instant, a lightning-wreathed blade telescoped out to skewer him. Asura sprang back—the sky fell; a heel strike cratered the street, smashing him down.

Sasuke retracted the extended Kusanagi and frowned. "Kakashi, your axe kick had no weight. Why not use Chidori (One Thousand Birds)?"

Kakashi dropped to the tiles. "Ma… Chidori (One Thousand Birds) is loud. Bad for ambushes."

Sasuke let it go, eyeing those eerie ripple eyes. "So that's the Rinnegan (Rinnegan). Creepy. And these are puppets, right? Does hitting a puppet even matter?"

Kakashi shrugged. "We can't let him rampage in the village. Take it down first, ask questions later."

Sasuke didn't argue—he charged with the Kusanagi—only for Asura to rip his forearm open, launching wrist-rockets at both of them.

They evaded—then realized the rockets tracked.

They Rai Shunshin (Lightning Flash Body Flicker)'d again. The rockets lost lock and roared off, detonating in a random block—half a building vanished in the blast.

"Tch! Natsuki didn't mention those!" Sasuke grimaced.

"Don't rely on Natsuki for everything. He's shared more than enough intel—he can't remember every last detail." Kakashi was helpless.

And it was true. Getting the "Six Paths are puppets" note alone had been a gift. Expecting footnotes for every micro-weapon? No way.

Besides, as jonin, facing an enemy with gaps in the dossier—you still find a way to win.
