Chapter 4 - Blue In Crowd

1 Orange was back at the alleyway. Didn't he just died in a vision? No, it felt too real to be calling what he saw a vision but there isn't any other ways to describe it so just "vision" works.

[Orange]: "Alice?..."

Alice stood up. She seem to have calmed down a bit from seeing Orange is alright.

Her hair danced lightly from the sudden movement. She struck a somewhat absurdly stylish pose in an attempt to lighten the mood.

[Alice]: "Yes... I am!"

[Orange]: "... What are you doing?..."

Orange reached out to hold his chest. It was still there. He was relieved, relieved that it was all just a vision that felt a little too real. But why? Why was he the one who saw it? Could it be the work of an illusion spell?

He turned toward Alice.

She tilted her head. She put on a smile but a confused one.

A frown shaped like へ started to form on Orange's face as he realized he was the only one who experienced the vision.

[Orange]: "Hey Alice"

[Alice]: "Yeah?

[Orange]: "Do you feel like... Anything weird right now?"

[Alice]: "Hm..."

Alice placed a finger on her lips. Her pupils moved to the upper left sides of her eyes. It was quite childish to be doing this but Orange thought it was cute.

Her lips parted, slowly forming an O shape. A lightbulb popped up above her head. She nodded and turned to Orange. She seems to have come up with an idea.

[Alice]: "I think I felt a source of magic around here a few seconds ago but... It was too sudden..."

[Orange]: "Hmm... Magic?"

[Alice]: "Yeah? It just disappeared less than second so I thought it was probably nothing and shrugged it off"

Alice shrugged.

[Alice]: "Maybe it was nothing, I think I might be just overthinking it."

[Orange]: "Yeah... Maybe"

Orange stood up. He took a deep breath and look forward. He was still thinking about the whole vision thingy but he thought they should probably get out of here first.

[Orange]: "Let's keep walking... I want to get out of this dark place as soon as I can..."

[Alice]: "Oooh.. I get it! You were scared the whole time no wonder why you were acting weird!"

[Orange]: "Shaddup!"

2 Magic... She did talked about magic so was that string and vision all apart of someone else's spell? Then why would it be there? It should at least be highly advanced so who'd be firing it around casually? Orange shook his head and look around.

They were back on the street again. It was lively and more crowded than the previous streets.

He noticed there was a big crowd. No. It was a really long line coming from a building what seems like a bakery that doesn't seem too big nor small. It was just slightly in the middle.

Orange noticed Alice stopped. A sweat broke down from her head. She turned to Orange with a smile just like always. But he could tell she was disappointed if not annoyed.

[Alice]: "It seems we were late"

[Orange] "We came all the from our village just for a bakery? Hm.. it doesn't look "fun" at all"

[Alice]: "Well, we can't really turn back anymore? Can we?"

Alice took a step toward Orange. Making a pleading face.

[Alice]: "Please..."

[Orange]: "Yeah, yeah, whatever."

Alice grabbed Orange's wrist and run toward the line and Orange was once dragged along again.

[Orange]: "Here we go again.."

3 Orange sighed deeply. They've been waiting in line for quite some time now and it doesn't seem to end. He wanted to just turned around and do something else but he couldn't. I don't want to make Alice sad. He've been muttering that line and using it as a fuel for waiting in this line.

Orange look toward side where Alice was.

Alice was waiting patiently. Humming.

Orange couldn't understand that anybody would be on this caliber of patience.

Orange shifted his gaze in front but he stopped midway. Something caught his eyes. Orange squinted his eyes. He tried to focus and find what caught his attention. It wasn't "something" but it was "someone".

On the street here were carriages dragged by creatures. There was a knight walking around in large armors. There was an elf girl with a mini dragon. There were anything you could think of.

Orange spotted them. That person has a blue hair. They seem young too. Could they be that boy from the vision he saw earlier? He wanted to confirm.

[Orange]: "Hey, Alice. I'll be back."

[Alice]: "H-huh? Wait! Where are you going- he's gone..."

Orange rushed through the crowd. Trying to catch up to the boy. "Sorry!". He bumped into quite some people in his chase.

Some people turned to look at Orange, who just bumped into them with different faces. Some confused to annoyed.

Orange could feel the wave of faces disappearing as he gets closer to the blue haired boy. It wasn't like that but his focus was mainly on that boy he seems to forgot the people around him.

Orange was only a few meters away. He was breathing heavily. Ba-dump... Ba-dump... Orange could feel his heart beating faster than before. Of course, it was natural. It was logical for a heart to be beating quickly after somebody just ran at their full speed.

[Orange]: "H-Hey! Wait!"

The person stopped in their tracks. They weren't if they were being called out or not so they hesitated.

The boy turned around slowly and eventually.

Their eyes met. Time has slowed down for them. The silence started to fill the air around them. It was awkward.

Some passerby stopped to look at them. Curious. While some just walked away after a few seconds. It was really embarrassing, if not cliché.

A sweat broke down from Orange's head. Gulp...

The boy was confused. He spoke, breaking the silence between two of them.

[???]: "Uhm... Do I know you, sir?.."
